It's just so depressing. On a side note, after you drifted away from those friends, how did you make new friends with the same values? I currently live in a very small town (population 500) with my ltr and as I settle down more, many of my other friends continue their weekend endeavors. For context, I'm 22.

She actually does want a relationship. She just doesn't realize that if she gives sex so freely guys aren't going to give commitment. That's the part she doesn't quite comprehend. She knows hooking up leads to disappointment but she doesn't realize that's what leads to a lack of commitment. I guess that's why I want to try to help her, because I know she wants a relationship. I just want to help her realize if that's what she wants she has to stop her current behavior pattern.

I can only hope she opens her eyes sooner than later, before she's done even more damage. As for now, I can only keep offering support and advice. Forcing it will only make her more resilient.

I can think of a few examples right away. I also know she really respects my relationship and my ltr is an RP man so maybe just talking to her about the things I do for him would help. When she calls or texts me being down about not being able to find a guy I can talk about what I did and didn't do so I could have a quality guy in my life.

I value our friendship very much. She's always been there for me and is genuinely very sweet, she just makes poor choices. Maybe just sitting down and talking to her would be best. If she listens, great. If not, then maybe she is not the type of person I want as a friend. Talking to her might upset her but at least that will make her stop and think.

Unfortunately, I do think she will learn the hard way. I just really hate seeing my friend ride the cc and not understand the consequences her decisions will have. Even if she some day realizes the consequences, it will be too late. Her partner count cannot be changed and the damage will already be done.

How exactly do I go about doing that? It does give me the idea of inviting her over and having a movie night (consisting of all RP movies, of course).

I understand that, but what advice could I offer her that might help her connect her choices with the consequences? Is there any way I can use our friendship to help her?

Sorry, I should clarify. We are both female and I am very much straight so I would hope I am friend zoned.

He has already plated you. I don't know how to say this without it sounding harsh, but head is sex (just oral form). You have already given him sex before receiving commitment. Keep reading and just remember women have sex to offer and men have commitment to offer. Never give sex without some form of commitment.

I often blow things out of proportion as well. I think this is due to me being a very emotional person and taking things too personally. I slept on it last night and already feel better (for the most part) about the situation. Most likely I will still address my hurt feelings with him so he can help me see things more logically, put my mind at ease, and so I can let him handle it as he sees fit. Taking a step back and giving myself time to let my feelings simmer down definitely helps though. I t…

Thank you. I think that's a good idea. I do trust him very much and I think talking to him would be the best route.

My concern with telling him how I feel is that I'm overreacting. I don't want to trouble him with my concern if it is unfounded. However, talking to him may be best so he can put my mind at ease by simply telling me if I'm being over emotional. Thanks for the advice.

I definitely don't think he is being malicious. However, the comments he has made (I can send you a private message if more detail is needed) have been personal. Honestly, I think he's just trying to help me put my best foot forward but my emotions get the best of me and it ends up making me feel really crummy. I'm most likely overreacting I just struggle getting over stuff and letting it be. I think I'll try taking some time to console myself (great idea) and sleep on it tonight and hopefully w…

I don't have tons of advice to offer. However, depending on where you live marriage may not be a factor in split custody. You can request a paternity test. If they are your children then you will most likely be able to get split custody. In today's society the court system often favors with the mother but don't let that stop you from fighting for your kids. First step is get a lawyer. After you've done that request a paternity test (lawyer should be able to help with this process). Finally, figh…

Thanks for sharing your thoughts on this. I've been in situations where I've heard a woman bashing her husband/SO and it always rubs me the wrong way. Now I know how I too will handle the situation next time it arises. Either those type of women, as you say, are idiots or they are simply mean. If they married someone so dumb that is their own fault. If they are simply saying that out of anger I feel sorry for their husband.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
