Thank you so much for this. I feel like the problem with this person is that they feel no empathy because they never received any as a child. You listed a handful of reasons for why I haven't pursued legal action currently, namely, previous negative experiences with authorities concern about how reporting could affect employment or education * financial barriers such as legal costs or time off work * lack of access to supportive services * internalized myths about what “counts” as rape * uncerta…

Aw, you're so sweet, thank you for your support! It doesn't matter that they don't believe me, I know what my experiences were, and I remember what happened. I was raised by parents who were liars and mother who resented me and a step father who had anger control problems. I know, now, that the issue lies with the fear that I was raised to have and that questioning authority led to punishment are the main factors behind my compliance in not pursuing anything past being told no the first time. It…

If I ever go back to that state, that will be on my list. No idea where he lives or if he's been deported or not.

Montgomery County PD, Maryland, 2011, got a divorce by annulment a few weeks later because of the police report I provided, No clue the name of the cop, wasn't an important factor at the time. Why does this bother you so much?

Well, this year, in January, I pursued a restraining order against someone who became physically violent with me and who began harassing me after I asked them to move out. So when I say I'm working on it, it's more accurate to say that I have learned from my past and am making better choices.

Aw, that's very kind of you to say! Life is all about choices. ❤️

Yeah. I wasn't paying attention to the vibe, I was just speaking on my experience. Thank you for explaining this for me! I really appreciate that!

Being downvoted here isn't going to stop me from commenting, the people in this sub have upvoted the majority of my comments. It's okay to disagree with people. I get why people are upset though, they're trying to high-light a specific point, and I didn't make a comment on the specific point. I spoke about an experience I had.

I am providing experiential information that states that even real rapes are also dismissed, To share that plenty of accusations are false much like what happened to my friend where he was accused of beating his girlfriend, those accusations were false but he was still arrested without being interviewed and the stories were never corroborated. We are in the process of suing that Police department. It just occurred to me that my comment upset you because it detracts from the main argument that OP…

I was too young to know any better and my parents were pretty abusive so I always believed that I was in the wrong especially if someone in an authoritative position told me that I was wrong. I still struggle with it to this day. Supervisors, teachers, cops; I habitually defer even when I know I am right because I am scared of punishment. I'm working on it.

Isn't Solipsism the belief that you are the only person experiencing life and that everybody else and everything else is a figment of your imagination?

In the area I moved to and became homeless in, There are exactly 2 homeless shelters for men to the 5 for women. It's nuts.

It's not rape when your husband is the assailant. That's what officers told me when I fought off my ex and called the police to report what he'd done Edit: Not All Men!

I spend the majority of my work day masking like crazy and it's physically exhausting and my coworkers still think I'm weird asf. I live with the fear of being fired from this job for saying something wrong because of my comprehension difficulties and my auditory processing delay.

It's a reasonable theory, considering social norms and expectations for women, that's a logical landing.

I admit I'm a little confused by this. Would you say that there our past choices that one makes that bars them from future rewards no matter the circumstances? Would you be willing to provide me an example? So from my perspective I am a felon from a single drug charge back when I was still using. Now this is one of four things on my record but the only felony that I have. The others are misdemeanors for theft when I was homeless in my younger years. The only thing that I know for sure I'm going …

If you Google Brené Brown, there is a part in her TED talk on vulnerability where she talks about her interviews with men and how they state that the women in their lives are the ones that pressure them to be manly and not express their emotions. It's flipping sad, absolutely appalling, and only further creates this divide between us as humans Edit: I did a Google, "Brené Brown's talks, especially "The Power of Vulnerability," highlight how societal expectations force men to suppress emotions (a…

You make an extremely valid point right here! As a woman, I find an extremely muscular man to be very unappealing as I want someone who is not just cuddly, but also someone who isn't going to spend every waking moment focused on their body and eschewing time for our relationship. I might be biased, though, I used to spend almost 3 hours a day in the gym and lost many friendships during that time. Might be a "personal experience" based concern.

It's all pretty confusing to me. I struggle with social interactions though, so understanding politics and interpersonal relationships between politicians is extremely foreign to me. I did see a snippet from someones phone at work where Mamdani was in the oval office with Trump and this look that Trump had on his face while he was looking at Mamdani was confusing because I thought that Trump wouldn't like him but it looked almost like adoration. I've had a rough life and am a lil hyper aware of …

I am so grateful that the men at my job see my sincerity and my capability to complete a task both skillfully and with great detail. Still creeps me out that it's all white people.

Confirmation bias is so powerful. I was reading an article that was giving a synopsis on brain scans of persons who were having biases challenged and the scans showed that for any issue that the amygdala would light up, meaning essentially that the bias was set from an emotional reaction. It's absolutely maddening how a few intensely bad experiences will cause a bias.

Hey hey so accountability was a big problem for my ex and he was a man. But I'm the problem because I have to interact with people at my job. Edit: He wound up becoming violent and a stalker. I deserved it because I tried to make things work.

Can I ask you how you feel about Trump's recent reaction to Mamdani? From what I've seen from Trump meeting him, it seems like Trump really looks up to mamdani.

Suits, Elementary/Sherlock, Supernatural, Days of Our Lives, Dr Who, fuck even I dont watch much tv, what the shit do you mean?? Modern Family has Sofia Vergara as the idiot, Weeds has that main lady character, CougarTown has that paler skinned skand chick, Comedy is known for taking a stereotype & blowing it out of proportion for the sake of snorts, chuckles, and giggles. I know its rather bothersome, but take the article for what I see it as; It points out a social issue that is still out ther…

It is sad how even though I disagree with most religions, I dont discredit anything their followers opine. I ask questions for clarification. They accuse and correct. It is sad how even though I disagree on how to organize a room, I dont discredit anothers opinion. I ask questions for verification. They accuse & correct. this s common. U I I feel sad that

I second this, this is a huge sexism issue, take it to local media. Tv, radio, bus advertisements. And definitely consult with a lawyer beforehand.
