There's a two week period at the start of the year where you "rush". Frats will put out their rush calendars where they list all their events and you just show up and mingle and see if you like the frat. If they want you to join, they'll give you a bid. A lot of these events are super fun, and some can be fancy/classy (bid dinner). And the rush period is where any guy can go to any of the frats parties. After that, you have to belong in one of the four groups I mentioned earlier.
