1	Double standard? No I don’t think they should be paid the same. Less time and effort should equal less pay. I don’t agree with blanket discrimination though. There is also illegal discrimination like pregnancy discrimination, discrimination for pumping breast milk on the job, maternity leave discrimination, and some employers won’t hire women of childbearing age at all. I am saying that married women where both spouses work, and they have young children, the woman makes sacrifices in her career, and that greatly reduces her earning power. 0	Double standard? It’s the motherhood penalty. Women sacrifice their careers to spend more time with their children willing. They go part time or take a demotion so they can be less stressed out and have flexible hours. Also, moms that are always putting their kids first aren’t the best employees. They are promoted less, less raises, demoted, fired. Maternity leave is a big pain in the butt for employers. If there is a wage gap between men and childless women, it’s not very much.
