Total double standard imo. You probs already know this but in Ireland it was made law that girls MUST do better in school, or else.

They are guilty of hypocrisy. "Double standard" is a feminist term.

The school system including college is biased against men. Why? The majority of teachers are women.
People who spout that 'patriarchy bad' always leave out pertinent info.
Men tend to pursue careers in STEM fields and those which produce tangible products, facts, stats, etc. We tend to pursue jobs that are essential to any culture's function and stability.
Government. Infrastructure. Transportation. Military. Fire, EMS, and police. Those are jobs which provide something everyone needs.
Women tend to pursue jobs involving people and subjective outcome jobs.
Teachers of all levels. Childcare. Human Resources. Therapists. Psychologists.
Men make up the majority of doctors in most specialties with women making up most of Women's Health and Gynecology.
Women dominate the nursing field but men dominate the EMS field.
Men tend to work harder, longer, more stressful hours giving up more personal time to provide more for his wife and children where applicable. We tend to take OT and vacations late to 'get the job done'.
Women tend to take their OT more often and their vacations on time. They tend to take more time off for their kids school (non-essential) functions like plays, band, or sports. The father if he's around or not (another variable) might make time for a child's sports.
Ultimately, no two people get the same experience out of anything. If a man and woman had the same schooling, grades, etc. and went for the same job both would be paid differently. No two people have the same work ethic nor solution to a unforeseen problem or a planned short-term or long term schedule.
There are simply too many variables to follow every example. Men are really good at a lot of things as are women. The things we are better at are things that have made most cultures doing well above many others.
We do not think and act the same. We are great b/c of our differences. Maybe more men and women should work together instead of whining about non-existent pay issues.

They are applying a group collective model, to a meritocracy model.

For example my first job in IT was Server Engineer. There were two of us in the team, both doing exactly the same job, managing exactly the same number of servers, carrying out exactly the same tasks, working exactly the same hours.

There only difference was pay, he was on 25 thousand pounds a year, I was on 15 thousand pounds a year.

The reason for this difference, was that he had 3 years experience, and I had none. It really was that simple. Nothing to do with age (we were even the same age), or gender, or anything else other than the fact he had more experience, so he could demand more money.

Now, if I was a woman, I could have complained that the difference in pay was due to gender; and, I could have probably found a Human Rights Lawyer prepared to sue for equal pay.

If I were black, I could have used racism as the reason why he earned more than I did

... ad infinitum...

After I had been in the job for 3 years, I was also on 25 thousand pounds a year.

Feminism seeks to accumulate all power to women, while dodging/shedding all responsibility. Simple as that. That's why it's a supremacy movement, not an equality one.

The real wage gap is not between men and women, it’s between women that have children and women that don’t. Childless women make close to whet men make.
