Please do this. You dropped the class because of the incident, they really need to know why. All political and civil rights issues aside - the instructor intentionally and mercilessly humiliated you in front of the entire class. Imagine if she'd asked "Can anyone solve this equation?" in a math class, you gave the wrong answer, and she mocked you in the same fashion. That's not appropriate behavior for a professor.

I love the concept of adoption but fear it for this reason. Having two biological children of my own I know just how much work goes into pregnancy and caring for infants. If I adopt I have no idea if the biological mother cared for my child in utero as I would have (yeah I'm a woman, sorry, didn't mean to invade the "dude" thread). I totally hear what you're saying and agree, to a point. I think the purpose of the Bechdel test, though, is to look for movies where women are prominent without being exceptional (e.g. the movies you referenced, Dead Man Walking, etc.). Women are rarely portrayed doing a business deal together, plotting a murder, or whatever. I'm a little distracted right now sorry if that didn't make a lot of sense.
