I'll acknowledge that I'm extremely fortunate that I've always been welcome in my wife's family. In her culture, marriage ties are nearly as strong as blood. But, that carries the weight of responsibility and expectations. Our son is currently halfway around the world in her home country spending the summer with cousins, prior to starting grad school. They're that close. I recall those types of relationships here as a youth. I feel for our single friends of both genders as we all approach 60. It…

The elderly women in your life regretted marriage? I don't believe the ones I knew had that sentiment though I doubt that I explicitly asked them. I do recall them being content and highly regarded. Friends come and go, sometimes painfully. Even the definition of friend changes with time. Family has a permanence that can't be replicated. Marriage rates dropping aren't causing the social issues, but they're certainly contributing. There are fewer family ties with fewer marriages.

I think this idea that back in the day many people in marriages were secretly unhappy, is greatly exaggerated. Part of the social engineering agenda. No marriage was perfect but most were content enough in my GenX memories and experience. You're just talking about the perception of others, or the nuts and bolts of marriage. Like that's all there is to it. The best thing about marriage is the special bond that can only come with commitment and sacrifice. The secret sauce that makes a person "your…

Invisibility is such a nebulous term, but I would point to relationship and marriage rates as evidence. This phenomenon is complicated, but is at least partially attributed to a growing divergence (esp. socially, politically, and economically) between young men and women. Leading to a breakdown in traditional courting and social interaction. Of course not limited to men, but is far more isolating for the pursuers than the pursued.

I believed in the ideal of romantic love as a young man. As an older man married 30 years to a fantastic wife, I believe I am living it. It's sad that so many have become so jaded.

I'm long married and have no dog in this fight, but however you want to define 'invisible' (whether sexual attention from the other gender, or any notice or acknowledgement at all), a huge percentage of men are far more invisible now compared to just a couple decades ago. It can be debated as to why that is.

Ok. A lot of that sounds pretty complicated. Bringing things like baggage, projection and trust issues surely complicates compatibility a great deal. Like puzzle pieces to form together. So maybe the model is turned upside down in that case. Odds would be far lower regardless, with complications in the picture. Our experience was very different, as I had minimal and my wife zero baggage. Probably because we were young in our first semester of college. I definitely recommend dating with intent fr…

Based on 35 yrs of experience with my wife, I do not believe there are any short cuts to bonding and love. My rather simple theory on compatibility and attachment, and consequently bonding: For the short term and fun, seeking someone quite similar is no doubt more exciting, with higher highs and lower lows. Attraction tends to fade with time. Often a fast flame, faster burnout. For the long term, someone different will be more complementary when building together. Partners grow as individuals by…

Interesting theory. I believe it can definitely be a factor given the complexity of human psychology especially female. I would say the effect is more likely the higher the N. Promiscuity is literally self sabotage in many ways.

Huh? Lots of respectable people go to places like that specifically to meet people. If a connection happens, it happens. World travel is fantastic including the social aspects. Edit: you seem hyper sensitive to how others perceive you. That's a massive handicap.

Concur. My wife and I were heavy into gaming for about 20 years. That chapter is behind us now, but we were anything but losers. It was more of a hobby. I suspect it may be far different for solo people of either gender who use gaming as escapism. The regret of time and opportunities lost must be brutal.

For many if not most of them, the "choice" about being single was greatly assisted by a drop in interest coming their way. Let's be real.

He isn't talking about guys who just want to bang. Those guys don't give a damn about her, or her past. He's talking about relationship oriented men who desire relationship oriented women. Nothing crushes those feelings faster than finding out she's been promiscuous in her past.

Interesting commentary about The Matrix whether you wrote it, you found it, or AI. you're one of a (un)lucky few to have the choice. Oh, I was as blue pilled as they came when I was young. Lost my first 2 GFs because of stupid pedestalizing, I'm assuming. Yeah I was a fool, but I thought that's what guys were supposed to do. Chivalry and all. That ended up being fortunate. My younger self was then wise enough to marry college sweetheart. 30 yrs later she's still wholesome, free of any baggage an…

The reason it sounds circular to you is because it is almost impossible for us to grasp the dating challenges of the other gender. Because the expectations and experiences are polar opposite in many ways. It's difficult for women to understand that men are effectively (initially) invisible to women if they don't possess superficially attractive traits. Which is most, by definition "average", men. It's difficult for men to understand why women don't choose better. Being over saturated with the il…

What do you mean by "treat women poorly"? If you're talking about general manipulation tactics, emotional distance, using them for sex then ghosting, etc, well that behavior is far more likely to come from men with options. Because, well, they like to keep it moving and acting "avoidant" is a useful strat. If you're talking about controlling behavior, abuse or outright violence, well that's probably a subset of all men. Hence, I would advise women to take their time getting to know a man so he w…

It has everything to do with what is being discussed. Do you at least admit that some men on the apps get lots of interest from women, e.g. having options? What would you expect those men to do when presented with options? Some men getting the lion's share of attention in dating necessitates other men getting significantly less attention. This effect is, of course, compounded by the mismatch in representation between men and women on OLD. It's not rocket science, or a "cult". It's basic logic.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/07/25 06:30 PM

Good luck ever getting them to admit to being the source of the problem. As you said, the vast majority of them pursuing a small subset of men. What happens when those guys have options? They keep it moving. What else would you expect. Then acting like it's some mystery why there are so many "avoidants" in modern dating is icing on the cake. Lol

Well, I'm pretty sure that women fantasize and lust using their imagination too. About all sorts of things, based on those steamy romance novels. Also, harmless fantasies are night and day difference from something very specific and real, like missing "Chad's dick" as you do eloquently put it. As shitty as porn and the addiction to it is, it isn't really sex and thus is completely reversible. As opposed to being hopelessly stuck on some Ex from her past, aka alpha widowed.

It's a bit tricky when a couple has differing cleanliness thresholds. Let's be real, that's probably just about all couples. I'll admit my wife does most of the cleaning for our common spaces. I'm incredibly lucky that she also loves to cook. So I clean the dishes and take the trash out, which I'll admit is easier. I tend to do all the vacuuming and mopping in our large house, as well as most yardwork and fixing things when needed. I also do whatever chores she asks, no questions asked. Since sh…

That does sound like quite a double standard. The silly "gold digger" accusation couldn't apply in my case because we were college sweethearts and spent lots of time together organically (classes, activities, study partners, etc) without one investing financially more than the other. I'm very glad she made me wait, because it let me know that she would've done the same for any man before me. A huge part of the appeal. It's tough these days, because how do you navigate those challenges in the era…

That sounds like blatant deception and manipulation, and lazy and weak at that. It blows my mind if that's considered normal these days. I understand (as well as a man can) what women are facing because I have a daughter who has to deal with the BS. I hope she continues to listen to my advice. I've been married 30+ yrs and went to great lengths to prove intent, over a significant period of time to my wife. It's even well known fact among men that timid and depressed women are easy lay if you pretend to care for them then you can smash and dash. That's why women used to make men wait for intimacy, in order to prove intent. On the advice of caring male elders who loved them. That simple act weeds out the vast majority of dishonest sexually predatory men who have always existed. Alas, due to the disintegration of family, those caring male figures are largely gone. Hence, the countless broken women (a…

As inferred in our other exchange, I believe promiscuity is mutually exclusive with the ability to pair bond, and therefore deepen romantic love. The real secret sauce of a relationship. But it's fruitless to argue with someone who has probably forgotten what real intimacy was like (e.g. the opposite of sport fucking), or what it's like to have a woman feel uniquely special to him. Such that he's willing to sacrifice much to commit, share time, thoughts and dreams, and ultimately life experience…

I do think promiscuity renders men unfit for relationships, albeit not to the same degree. They don't tend to become broken and bitter. Just jaded. Too much objectification can definitely spoil one's view of women, and make it difficult to commit to and stay loyal to just one woman. For both men and women, once intimacy becomes recreation or sport, it cannot switch back. Capacity for pair bonding, vital for relationships, diminishes. Regarding STDs, I was referring more to viral infections. Viru…

From a societal standpoint, a subset of men cycling through large numbers of women isn't good. They leave behind a trail of broken and bitter women, attracted to toxic traits. Unfit for relationships. Many promiscuous men are also effectively super spreaders of disease. And yeah, many of them lie and manipulate to get what they want. Like some sort of perverse sport.

My biggest beef with red pill are those that assert that promiscuity is only bad for women. That's not just hypocritical, it's idiotic. Promiscuity is terrible for many reasons, for men and women.

Indeed. Echo chambers are worse than counterproductive, they tend to keep people stuck. Reddit is full of echo chambers, easily identified by lots of emotional up and down voting, as well as heavy handed mods. Subs like this one, with a decent balance of views, can be interesting and informative.

Has feminism made men weak? Let's think about it... Women becoming career oriented and gaining financial independence has resulted in a loss of interest in marriage and family. Men not only ended up losing potential romantic partners, they gained direct competitors for employment and resources. With little hope of success, a family or greater purpose, many men lose motivation to work, instead falling into sloth, vices, and passivity. Therefore, feminism has certainly contributed to the general w…

First, clarify that when we say men and women we are talking averages, not subgroups or individuals. One could argue that women have fewer "excuses" in dating today simply because they have (way) more options. Of course, everyone is responsible for their own choices and actions in dating. Excuses get you nowhere.

Marriage with the right person (compatibility) can become remarkably easy and low maintenance with time and experience (cooperation, communication, conflict resolution). As someone who has finally mastered relationship skills after 30 yrs with my partner, I would say maintaining friendships is much harder. At least for us introverted types. Thank goodness my wife is the more social one, and her friends (and their hubbies) are my friends too. Lol

I think most men realize this. I'm not so sure that most women realize that it applies to them as well. The next financial crisis will likely be severe. A reminder for everyone that ultimately we're on our own.

Unsure of what you're trying to say here. We have very rich lives individually and jointly. It isn't our job to make each other happy, we can and do handle that on our own. Aren't we on here to share opinions? Social issues tend to be highly subjective. Just because it's a small part of a relationship doesn't mean it is unimportant. But most people who have been married a while (30+ yrs in my case) will tell you that libido tends to fluctuate over time for many reasons. Sometimes you're more aligned with your partner, and other times less. Thus it is very important to have other relationship aspects binding you together in order to sustain over the long term. (in m…

Dating and relationships were far more stable and long-term before. But, online dating has largely monetized, commoditized, and rendered the process into something similar to a shopping experience. So now, people have been conditioned to expect and accept much more transitory relations (fwb, situationships) revolving purely around sex. But, sex is a relatively small part of any (healthy) relationship. Having it as the primary driver is inherently unstable and collectively unsustainable for any s…

Well, unless times have drastically changed I would say it's the opposite for long married women. At least my wife, and her/our friends.. I find it actually is more likely to get her in the mood if I'm extra helpful around the house, or if I offer to do store runs for anything we need. Or anything else she may want or need. Why would acting like a lazy slob or like a pompous a-hole be attractive? Who wants to be like that anyway...

A deep and loving relationship with someone highly compatible with us is the single greatest life enhancer there is. For the vast majority of people. That's why it pains me to see people heading down a path that will complicate if not outright prevent any chance of that happening in their future. A travesty.

My guess is that males stay in miserable marriages because they still love their spouse. At least most of them. I encourage those men to prioritize themselves for a while to build themselves up physically and mentally. You attracted her before, and you can do it again. My marriage has had some significant ups and downs, but we're better than ever now as empty nesters. Living the life!
/r/PurplePillDebate30/11/24 01:10 AM

Thing is, when unstable and scary times come, many will wish they had someone by their side. With inflation potentially pricing food out of the budget for many, who do you think they will target? The weak who have resources. Hunger is primal and easily overrides morals and values. Or you can put your head in the sand and think that can't happen.

Sexual attention != relationship. It's bizarre why this is such a mystery to so many women. So many guys when horny will F anything, including older less desirable women. The question is, can she find and keep a man. Probably not because then 'long term relationships' would be singular.

Ran through girls make better partners? What a crock. Good luck to any poor sap who accepts a current or former harpy. Pleasure starts in the minds of women. It will be a steep uphill battle for anyone to measure up against Exes from a promiscuous woman's past, idealized romantically in hindsight. Exes whose attention she was probably competing for at the time, and (consciously or not) tried to win over by initiating and being extra freaky under the sheets. If she's that way by choice or principles, then hell yes I would say she's a keeper. If you find her otherwise attractive and interesting enough. This is even a question? 1, of course. Because that kind of relationship has the potential to evolve and get better with time. Additionally, with some work on your part 1 can likely expand to include 2 frequently enough. For you only of course, which is special and an amazing feeling. Not a RP'er, but wife goggles? Is that where your wife looks more beautiful to you compared to other women around her age? It's more socially acceptable to slut-shame men because it's more acceptable to criticize men in general. No complaints, as being held to a higher standard makes us better. Slut shaming throughout history has actually come primarily from other women. Why? To look out for each other and to guard against a massive, glaring blind spot. My wife and I are well matched, which is a major reason we're stable and happy together after 30 yrs. There are too many positive, healthy things to list in our relationship. Main things we've improved on over the years are probably listening and communication. Also notable is an understanding and appreciation of each other's preferred expressions of affection. This topic appears to be bait, but whatever. A great thing about healthy long term relationships is that other forms of intimacy become every bit as potent as sex. As a couple grows closer over time, this is more than enough to bridge gaps in libido that naturally occur with time and circumstance.

You can't reason with sex addicts lost in perversion. Sex is literally like a handshake for them. It's bizarre how some people can swap fluids with random strangers without thought of hygiene or STDs. But we live in strange times.

Projection much? It's pretty 'gay' to think that based on what I wrote. Too many are overly sexual these days. But hey, whatever floats your boat.
/r/PurplePillDebate28/04/24 03:17 PM

What you can do (not 'you' per say, but normal men who don't get off on degradation and domination of females) is stay the fuck away from extremely damaged or mentally ill individuals, lest you start enjoying nonsense like that. It's a slippery slope. Dominating women is weakness not strength. Real power is being able to dominate other men, physically or otherwise. Whether or not one chooses to do so.
/r/PurplePillDebate28/04/24 10:43 AM

Being able to physically dominate a woman as a man isn't power. It's normal unless you are physically handicapped, or otherwise weak. It's pretty whack to get turned on by such a disgusting thing. Wake the fuck up. Real power is being able dominate other men. Whether or not one chooses to do so.
/r/PurplePillDebate28/04/24 10:12 AM

Maybe I'm getting old and boring but reading that is depressing. I would never ever put my hands on my wife's neck and I would be ready to kill anyone who would, or did. I view myself as her protector and simulating harming her makes my skin crawl. I weep for those that are lost in porn, or so sex addicted that they think that shit is remotely normal and healthy. All those mentioned say controversial things to draw in viewers, rile people up and get fame/money. There are truths but plenty of exaggeration and distortion as well. As an early 50s long married guy, we have quite a few single friends both male and female. I don't believe one gender handles being alone better than the other. Generally speaking, it does seem like women are less hesitant to initiate, less concerned about being the "3rd wheel" when hanging out with us (and usually other couples). Well, duh. That's one reason (of many) why you don't "settle down" with women having a toxic Ex, or many Exes for that matter. Leave them to desperate men. Obviously, women who fuck around accumulate baggage/trauma instead of actual relationship skills. Or best case, a clean slate with little to no experience. If the dating landscape is so bleak, work on your resources and go overseas in search of someone with a clean past and compatible values.
/r/PurplePillDebate10/04/24 07:55 PM

It's disgusting how you put it into words, but I suppose that's the reality of it with the apps and such. I really hope most women have better sense than to give into whatever urges, but it's their choice. Just be honest about it so some poor sap doesn't come along and get blindsided by a stark mismatch in values/morals, after developing feelings.

Does sexual promiscuity matter? I think it matters a great deal. It's no accident that a high count is usually accompanied by other negative traits. Like distrust, lack of vulnerability, inability to establish a deep connection, and other general baggage if not outright trauma. Promiscuity is absolutely terrible for both men and women. I believe that the more someone separates sex from love, the more they are unable to love and therefore establish a deep bond with another. After all, sex is the …

Yeah, the whole idea of objectifying, using and sharing women with other men for pleasure, is a bit off putting. Most people aren't sex addicts, nor use meaningless sex for recreation. That often represents a critical mismatch in values, and people who have ever engaged in casual sex need to be honest about their past should they ever settle down.

Are you talking about swinger groups? Ewww, thankfully that's a very small subset of the population. At least, I hope we haven't degenerated so far that even that is becoming normalized.

Just realize that when it comes to STDs, infection risk is a function of promiscuity level. Exposure is both direct (# of past sex partners) and indirect (past partners' partners). The highly attractive guys that give most women the tingles? Lol those dudes are basically disease super spreaders, if they're fucking around on the apps or elsewhere.

Someone who is or has been promiscuous is far more likely to cheat. Once sex becomes casual and recreational it's no longer special and intimate. Mutually exclusive and irreversible. Emotional connections are blunted due to diminished bonding ability. Agreed on the second part, men who slut shame while engaging in casual sex themselves, are huge hypocrites.

"Do men leave their wives that they met young when these women reach 40?" Of course not. Why would we throw away our relationship that we have invested decades into. Would I "date my wife" had we met at 40 years of age? Who knows, as we would be entirely different people compared to when we actually did meet. For me, one perk of having a long term partner is that I still see her younger self in my mind's eye. This accents her look in a way that is unique to me. She still looks amazing to me 30 y…

Be real. Those guys did not lose interest. They never had interest if they didn't also pursue some sort of commitment or exclusivity. Those guys wanted an available hole to satisfy carnal desires. Lust drops quickly with familiarity so they kept things moving.

Disagree. My opinion is that men should be willing to have a baby with whoever it is they're willing to have sex with. Maybe they'll actually raise their standards for physical intimacy off the floor. Don't like it? There are options: 1) don't lie down with her 2) get to know her well enough first to trust her 3) and/or use protection or other contraceptive measures 4) better yet, find someone you can commit to before having sex. Just because a bunch of broken women prefer fboys doesn't mean you should descend to their level and become one. Just for the sake of getting your D wet. Just imagine what dealing with that kind of woman, over and over, will do to your overall impression of women. The sure path to jadedness as you age. Do you want to be part of the problem, or part of the solution? Why not take the high road? Anyway, that's my take on that.

There are many women who are soft (not weak), feminine, loyal, optimistic and extremely family oriented. Women who have not been jaded romantically and who view sex as intimacy, not recreation. 0 or very low n-count is a huge factor there. Which matches our natural instinct. However, these women are becoming exceedingly rare in the West, so you will probably have to go to them wherever they are in the world. The HPV vaccine only protects against a small handful of strains, and many people still get infected albeit usually less severity. Still it's obviously a good idea to get vaccinated. HPV is forever, and those with high risk strains will need invasive examinations yearly from that point onward, and be dependent on their medical system for screening and treatment. I do not believe they're accurate for 2019, no way. Even less so post-pandemic, which was a huge game changer. It's really hard to imagine women resisting the always available temptation of OLD, given the complete anonymity and secrecy factor. Especially if they've spent much time being single. Even CDC statistics can be fallible. The proliferation of serious STDs like HPV, and associated cancers, also suggests a much higher rate of promiscuity now.

Off topic, but given the astronomical levels of leverage and debt around the world (govt, corporate and consumer), the next economic crisis will be severe. Like a Greatest Depression. I'm sorry you think that way about men in general. Of course, many men would not engage in casual sex. Just as many women do not. Whether due to beliefs or feelings about sex and intimacy, concerns about personal hygiene and STDs, or just not wanting to share intimate areas with strangers. That's more than typical horniness. Way too weird and desperate. Something isn't right with that one. Obviously a massive turn off. Aging alone is tough. She probably has a deep need for some company and validation, and/or she has a sex addiction. Or, maybe she thinks that is what a younger men wants from an older woman, thus going way overboard with whoever she gets her hands on. The proper response is to run for the hills.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/12/23 11:47 PM

The "catches feelings" thing is bizarre, since feelings are supposed to be attached to sex. That's the whole point of intimacy. Lack of feelings is a lack of capacity for intimacy, and a huge red flag. Feelings are long gone, or scrambled, for those who have engaged in rotations. They will never be the relationship type. They cannot pair bond and are incapable of establishing a deep connection with any partner.

Does she really have to test it? The thought of rubbing privates with people of unknown hygiene is a massive turn-off for many people. Many if not most care about cleanliness especially the intimate areas. Casual sex simply isn't consistent with that.

Exactly, it's in their nature and they are probably not even conscious of it. The pursuer and the pursued are opposites, and that's just the way it is. This is why I advise young men to focus on themselves rather than women in their 20s. No sense in getting jaded about women before you even hit your stride. You risk thinking all women are the same, when there are exceptions out there. Those are the ones you want to identify and pursue.

I have recently been thinking about the concept of love, and what it even is. What it means to the genders. I believe, it is more important for men to give love than to receive love, and more important for women to receive love than to give it. I'm certain that the physical act of intercourse affects how we define love. The primary target of a woman's love is of course children [if she has them], which is how nature intended it. I'm speaking generally. I think a lot of young men probably are blaming their personal problems on the effects of promiscuity. I would hope they have the sense to not hate on individuals. I personally am indifferent towards promiscuous women, but then I'm long married not dating. I don't respect them since I despise their behavior, and think it's harmful to society.

There's a massive delta between "distribution of sex" among men nowadays compared to only a couple of decades ago. That might make a lot of guys, having the misfortune of being born into their generation, a little sore. Individually, of course women have the right to live however they want to without obligation. Collectively however, there's a gargantuan problem that society needs to solve, if it cares about its future.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/10/23 10:36 PM

They aren't individually hated by most reasonable people. Are they disrespected? Most definitely. Collectively, promiscuous women (and men) probably are disliked, if not outright hated, by those who fear the effects of widespread promiscuity and the breakdown of relationships/family, on greater society.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/10/23 10:22 PM

Men do not hate promiscuous women. Many do fear the consequences of widespread promiscuity and the resulting breakdown of family, on society. In fact some men desire promiscuous women. But only temporarily until they get off. These women are repulsive to men in the relationship sense. Why? It's simple. A woman who has given herself to many different men isn't worth anything. The very definition of low value. I would argue it's the same for promiscuous men, but women have to be the judge of that.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/10/23 10:01 PM

Yep, women no longer seem to value potential in a young man. They want it now and are willing to wait at the finish line with many women for the few established winners. So, many young men fail to realize their potential, because as men our primary motivator is purpose. The primary purpose for most men is finding a woman and building a family together with her. If that dream is crushed so is the drive to excel and win, for many. In short, Western society is screwed.

Wow, I suppose a chunk of my marriage has been DB by that standard lol. We had periods where we had a lot going on, career wise as well as family stuff, when we were younger and we were simply exhausted much of the time. But, we made sure to connect daily, usually talking while embracing each other until we fell asleep. That form of intimacy is as powerful as actual sex. Nowadays we're back up to 1-2x per week, since it's just the 2 of us at home living way more relaxed lives.

Agreed. For us, and probably many others, sex loses significance over time. It's still wonderful of course, but sort of the "cherry on top" of our relationship. Other forms of intimacy become more prominent. Like for us our nightly embrace, talking softly before falling asleep. It doesn't get better than that.

Incorrect, in my opinion. Men tend to pine about the one that got away in the relationship sense. Like that first love that we dated and fantasized about, then were heartbroken when it ended. Having been suckered into being nice/good guys and romantic. To be honest, the quality of sex mattered little looking back at various Exes. Men typically direct how the sex goes, and honestly as long as she's into it, it's not much different from woman to woman, . As I understand it, women get alpha widowed…

On the one hand, I think it's pretty shit that some men do this shotgun approach. Like you said it cheapens male attention. It also inflates female egos. On the other hand, what are these men supposed to do? I can't say I wouldn't do the same if I was a young man with very few options. OLD is basically crickets for these guys, and approaching women IRL can be considered creepy. Even while doing hobbies and activities.

It's "ho" and we're not in middle school sex ed. You don't have to come up with stories to scare people into abstinence. Men do not want women who have had a whore phase. Sure some will objectify them whenever it's offered up, but most wouldn't want those tarnished by promiscuity.

There's a wee bit of difference between "not saving ones self for marriage" and changing up sex partners monthly, or even weekly. Any woman on the apps (in populated areas) can do just that, and many do. Many women who have been promiscuous at any time in their past are a ticking bomb in any relationship. Not just the baggage, but once sex becomes recreational or business, it cannot be reverted back to intimacy. The risk of a future dead bedroom goes way up. I like that the RP teaches men this, …

/r/PurplePillDebate18/08/23 10:18 PM

You can play the game with the pieces laid out in front of you, or you can choose a different game. Ie. consider someone from overseas who grew up with a modicum of healthy family and peer pressures. I found someone like that. As did a brother, and several of my friends. All happily married for a long period of time. Not saying that's a panacea, but your chances will probably be higher. It's an option for those who can or want to do it.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/08/23 11:42 PM

So you are saying, fuck around until you find the one? Ugh Editing to add: Unless I completely misunderstood your post, that's terrible advice. If you're legit looking for a relationship (not 'situationship' or some shit), you shouldn't be fucking around, period. Even if you could. Firstly, because that will take you far away from a relationship mindset and increasing your count (hint: that's bad for men too). It's crude, but a valid metric. Second, you're very unlikely to run into a relationshi…

Yes, it is hypocritical to sleep around yet expect monogamy. I believe the deepest bond and closest emotional connection possible is an exclusive relationship between a low or no count woman and a low count man. Besides - if you truly love your girl, then you shouldn't hurt her by cheating on her. Even if you can and she would still stay with you. That isn't honorable. If you don't love your girl, then why are you with her?
/r/TheRedPill15/08/23 06:07 AM

Refuting the belief that promiscuous women are not able to pair bond...huh? When did I say that? I definitely can be cringe, according to my kids. Lol I absolutely believe that promiscuity harms both men and women's ability to pair bond and form a close emotional connection.
/r/PurplePillDebate15/08/23 02:37 AM

If I wasn't already long married, all other things equal, I would absolutely choose a 30+ virgin over a 30+ high count woman. Could she be low libido or even asexual? Maybe. It's a risk. But that's way better than the baggage, bitterness and likely dead bedroom and/or infidelity that often comes with an overly promiscuous woman. How can they be content when they feel they're settling. The more of a past, the more likely that is.
/r/PurplePillDebate15/08/23 02:24 AM

I think the guys who want casual sex, yet expect chastity in return, are huge hypocrites not to mention scumbags. From my male perspective that is a small minority of men, despite the bluster from various spheres of influence on the internet. The vast majority of men would rather settle down, than sleep around. Period. If that has changed then we truly are in trouble.
/r/PurplePillDebate15/08/23 01:55 AM

Unless times have changed, most men do view sex as special. This used to be especially true for low count men back in the day (or at least the early 90s, for me). They weren't looking to bang random chicks, except maybe to lose their V card, but moreso looking for a serious GF. Are you telling me that all those undesirable men out there (the majority) wish they could be chad and use random women, rather being with the right woman? I'm not so sure about that. It goes against man's natural instinc…
/r/PurplePillDebate15/08/23 01:41 AM

Well summarized. I would add that a high count is terrible for men too, as it messes with the ability to bond and feel closer to a woman. Sex is obviously no longer special and intimate once it has become recreational. Most men want to feel an emotional connection, more than just a simple bodily release. Promiscuity blunts then destroys that ability.
/r/PurplePillDebate15/08/23 01:19 AM

I think the guys cringing at the thought of dating high count women are interested in actual relationships, rather than in meaningless casual sex. Most men who are inflating counts see sex as purely recreational, like high count women themselves do. Of course they wouldn't care at all.

Hey, 100% agree that jaded is better than naive. My point was to not be so jaded that one doesn't realize that there are still good ones out there. Traditional minded women worth investing in. Especially overseas in SE Asia or Latin America, if one has the means. In those places there's often (still) family and peer pressures on women to have morals and to be feminine.
/r/TheRedPill07/08/23 10:02 PM
3

IMO this jaded viewpoint is the main reason men shouldn't fuck around too much. Past some n count threshold, will begin to look at all women as objects and it will become difficult to have feelings and respect for them. Good luck after that trying to commit and form a bond even if you do luck out and find a virtuous woman that isn't a hoe.

Of course! Men in their 20s are mostly if not completely 'potential' at that point, which simply isn't attractive to young women anymore. So it makes competing with older men who are inherently more established and confident (= attractive to women) tough if not impossible. The young men who don't give up hope but rather invest in themselves during their 20s, become those confident men later on. This actually represents a massive social crisis. A big part of the appeal of marriage for men is buil…

False. If you get a traditional woman who is very close to her family, the pressure will be very strong to remain faithful. My wife is from SE Asia, although her and I met in college here in the states. Maybe men have come to the conclusion that most women would rather hook up than settle down. So they're only liking them in that way. Or going overseas to find morals and values. There's been basically no evidence published to date to support the idea that people generally prefer to express and receive love in one of these five ways, or exploring how these love languages influence relationships and some to the opposite. https://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1111/pere.12182 Shows that love language compatibility shows no increased relationship satisfaction in those couples. I'm no expert on RP, but I think their main point about 'alpha widows' is that the more past lovers a woman has, the more likely she is to have that Special Ex she cannot get over. It would most likely be an impressive man, or what they perceive as 'alpha'. Much of their terminology is juvenile and stupid. Wtf is alpha anyway. Lol
/r/PurplePillDebate26/06/23 01:27 AM

Not everyone acquires baggage as they get older, though. Many are content in healthy long term relationships. Obviously that wouldn't include alpha widows or anyone else not over someone from their past.

I'm responding to disagree with those who say family members and friends are functionally equivalent to the role of a romantic partner. I'll concede that "partner" is a spectrum, and my perspective is at the spouse end. I never said that sexlessness was equivalent to loneliness. There's so much more to a (healthy) romantic relationship than sex. Maybe I'm misunderstanding your point.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/06/23 07:37 AM
2

A relationship partner should not be responsible for "curing" depression. I never suggested that. It's up to the individual to take charge of their own health, mental and physical. However, I fail to see how someone can be lonely when they're seeing and interacting with their partner very often. Especially if they live together or are married.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/06/23 07:15 AM

Claims? I know very well what I like about my wife. Lol If I said a romantic partner is the only cure for loneliness, I misspoke. Of course I have "true" friendships. However, I don't live with them nor share (many) experiences and memories with them. They aren't typically a factor in my achievements. Chiseled and vascular is pretty much standard year round for endurance athletes, depending on the sport and level of competition. Again, men and women are different. For the vast majority of men, access to sex is scarce. But it is abundant for just about any women. Hence, it's natural that we attach different value to it. Sex and intimacy are a special thing for (most) men, and also to women who reserve themselves for commitment. Men are the romantic gender. It's why we're capable of greatness to impress the right girl. There are always exceptions to the rule. I wish you the best.

You're looking through the lens of being a woman. We view it differently. Sex is sex for us, there aren't different flavors (eg ONS vs whatever). I'm sorry, it's just the way it is. That's why throughout history women exchange sex for commitment, and men exchange commitment for sex.

Whether he states it or not a woman having a past, aka high bodycount, is a major "ick" for men. This is a point I've made on here before. Many women are lying to themselves that they aren't having casual sex, when that's exactly what they're doing. The intent doesn't matter, it's about the outcome: meaningless sex without commitment There was a time not long ago when this was common sense.

That's most men, not just on here. It's a consequence of the 80/20 rule, and most women are bitter about the difficulty in attaining commitment. The dating apps are a brazen assault on dating, relationships and family.

I've loved women who had been with 5 guys, and I've loved women who had been with 500. That's nice. But love != commitment, though. I refuse to play around with virgins though! Well I married one and she's amazing. A great wife and mother.

Well said. Sex and commitment are completely different things to men and women simply do not understand this. Or, they feign ignorance to be the nymphos they always secretly wanted to be. Lol

Who the hell wants to marry someone that is so burned out on sex with randoms that it's no longer special or important to them? Only desperate guys lol. Not to mention, if sex isn't special it is far easier to step out on their partner.

Believe it or not, morals have not completely gone by the wayside in modern culture. Sleeping around with different people, aka 'enjoying hookups', has always been considered immoral in most if not all cultures. It's a free society, people can be nymphomaniacs, fuckboys, swingers or whatever sex addict if they so desire. But, they should be honest about their past if they ever do want to settle down one day. Morals and perversion are still a major deal for many people.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/05/23 09:02 PM

Actually, many men that do one night stands, DO regret them later on. It de-values intimacy and sex, permanently. You cannot undo what's been done. Well, barring amnesia I suppose.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/05/23 08:43 PM

That's a bit of a crude post. They obviously love one night stands on some level, which is why they do it. Or, their lives are lacking in other areas so they need the dopamine hits. It's a free society, people can be nymphos, fuckboys, swingers or any type of sex addict if they so choose. However, they shouldn't be deceptive about their past if they ever do want to settle down someday. Loose morals and perversion are a no-go for a great many people.

The people you're meant to be with and go through life with are the people who you choose to be with in the absence of any feeling one way or the other. Very much agree with that. My wife and I started off as study partners, in physics class of all places. I'd describe our relationship as a 'slow burn' in the beginning, but we grew very close over time and then built a family together. 30 years later as empty nesters we are enjoying a sort of second honeymoon period. Yeah. It looks like modern (online) dating is like fishing, in many mens' eyes. The more times you cast your line, the more fish you reel in. The end result of that on a large scale is the clusterf*ck that is dating today. Women would do well to realize it's a numbers game to men, and that they aren't anything special. Men would do well to quit being idiots.

I wonder if young men and women are defining 'casual sex' the same, in their minds.
/r/PurplePillDebate15/05/23 01:46 AM

Promiscuity has always been considered a big deal, traditionally. As in a huge negative. It's coming back around to that as society realizes the damage done by dating apps and casual sex. So many people are now completely incapable of sustaining any sort of relationship. It's a major problem. Historically, sl*t shaming has been done by women to protect other women. It's been certain types of men, say like a 'chad in training', who want to keep women easy so they get their turn. Pretty damn selfi…
/r/PurplePillDebate12/05/23 06:01 AM

There's no benefit at all in choosing a promiscuous woman, except maybe for those men seeking a casual fling or a prostitute. For men seeking a relationship, women who are sex experts (sexperts?) are a libido killer. There's nothing enticing or appealing about them. Zero, zilch, nada. I mean, she's been there done that, and basically seen and done it all. Loveless sex is worse than worthless. It's a major negative, since intimacy and sex are clearly no longer special for promiscuous women (and m…
/r/PurplePillDebate12/05/23 05:44 AM

It says a lot about her values though, and men that are relationship oriented have a right to know if there's a significant mismatch in values. Besides, there's nothing enticing or interesting about a woman who's done it all and seen it all already. Promiscuous women and men really should stick together and just do their thing. Of course promiscuous women think about their Ex(es). That's not 'anxiety thinking' or 'insecurity', or whatever else you want to call it. It's just a fact.

Some women go for abusive, badboy types. They typically have some pretty severe issues and character flaws that make them attracted to toxicity in the first place. They're doing you a big favor in ignoring you. Last thing you want to do is pretend to be something you're not in order to get attention. Stay true to your ideals, and away from them. There are still plenty of good women available, especially if you also consider other parts of the world.

As with any grouping of people, it looks like "passport bros" are a spectrum. While I wouldn't take urbandictionary as gospel, I'm sure many do want someone they believe that they can control. I'd say, they are the exception not the rule. All the passport bros I know aren't even aware of the term. They're simply nerdy young professionals that want to try a Plan B before giving up on dating. For now. Bashing on passport bros will just raise awareness, and produce more passport bros. I'm not a passport bro, but I have traveled overseas extensively (with my family). It's pretty judgemental to label all passport bros as "lacking substance and personal growth". That's an ignorant and pretentious statement. Perhaps for some of them, the whole point is to avoid the entitled attitudes of many Western women. I've seen several people with failed marriages (to Western women) remarry someone from overseas. With much better results!

I do not blame "average men" for looking overseas for love when they're effectively invisible on dating apps. That's the primary way to pursue romance now in the West, which has of course completely warped how people match up with each other. They might as well go to where they will be noticed and appreciated. I highly doubt "showing those skanks" factors into it at all. That sounds like projection.

Sadly, I think you're right. Given the extreme debt problems world wide, at all levels: personal, corporate and sovereign, things are looking very bleak indeed. We need to do better.

I don't think you realize how difficult it is for 'ugly' men to get any attention from women. They're beyond foolish if they attempt to play stupid games. Perhaps we have a different definition of the word ugly. Anyway, I'm sorry you're so bitter when it comes to men. Men and women belong together so this type of gender-based distrust and animosity won't end well if your sentiment is at all prevalent.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/04/23 01:40 AM

BS. A great many men are only looking for commitment. Most of them find women looking for the same and voilà they're off the dating market. You're probably used to seeing the men (actually, immature boys) who pretend to want commitment in order to get laid. The other leftovers who do want commitment are not up to your par in looks, and thus off the radar. The longer you wait, the slimmer the pickings. Simple as that.

Yeah, it may not as easy or affordable as it used to be. My wife is originally from SE Asia (met in college) so we went to Asia every year typically spending a week in her home country and a week elsewhere. Dual engineering income, avoiding consumer debt and living frugally aside from big trips helped. Perhaps I'm biased, but traveling and experienc…

We traveled all through our 30s and 40s with our son, and it was amazing. Those experiences really were a positive for him, and I believe contributed to his current success. You do have a point though, because the kid(s) will be your focus and priority, which makes the travel a little different. I will say, having raised your kid(s) already once you reach the 50s is incredibly fulfilling. Assuming they're doing reasonably well, of course.
/r/PurplePillDebate23/04/23 04:53 PM

Exactly. If you stop at 1 child like we did (for a variety of reasons) you can still do nearly all of the things you can do without kids. We've always been big into world travel, and he went everywhere with us. Being involved in his sport (swimming) also became a hobby for my wife. Note: not helicopter parents, although we saw plenty of those lol.
/r/PurplePillDebate23/04/23 04:42 PM

The flip side to that is the sooner you have kids, the sooner your life becomes "about you" once again. My wife and I had our kid in our late 20s and are now empty nesters. As we're refocusing on each other and doing a lot of fun stuff like travel and going out more, it's sort of like a 2nd honeymoon period. Our friends with kids still at home are definitely envious. Just presenting the other side to that argument.

He sounds very, very far from perfect to me. But then, I'm not a woman, nor attracted to men. Women have their reasons for being so attracted to a guy like that. I'm very driven, not just professionally and financially, but in athletics and my hobbies as well. Plus, I'm thankfully introverted. I could never just drift along like that, women or no women. It sounds like he and his GF complement each well. I hope it works out for them.

I think it's a man's natural confidence that usually increases with age, as you figure out what life is about and establish yourself professionally and financially. That alone translates to a higher SMV. Obviously, don't let yourself go too much physically and you're golden.

Again, that's clearly a small group of men as well as a subset of women who apparently respond to them. I'm not assigning fault, nor justifying anything, I think it's immature behavior from both sides. If upset enough to make sweeping generalizations of an entire gender, a timeout from dating sounds warranted. But that's just me. Surely you don't think the important men in your life behave that way, too?

Please stop pretending as if all men act this way when in reality it's a small percentage, usually on the stupid dating apps, who do this. Besides, that type of woman actually likes being "lead on" because they crave attention. Consequently, they are more likely to succumb to flattery or seduction. You absolutely do not want a weak partner like that. Quality women are resistant to cheap seduction tactics and those are the ones worth pursuing for a healthy LTR.

It's simply supply and demand in a highly commodified dating marketplace. This is what happens when humans use a stupid application to seek other humans as if they're ordering some product, or food. Men "above your league" will also be above that of many other women. What did you think would happen? Those shitty guys can only "use you" because so many of you are apparently willing to be used.

If more women are choosing to be single than men, it is because it's easier. Let's admit the obvious: any woman can get attention on demand. Shit quality attention usually, but that's better than no attention at all. I doubt many women can fathom the soul crushing loneliness that so many men are enduring today. Growing up, the dream of making something of myself and then building a family of my own was a primary motivator. Simply because I'm from another generation (genX) it was way more obtaina…

No one should be with anyone they don't want to be with. Problem is, when standards tighten and that happens on a large enough scale, a huge percentage of the population is left out. Effectively useless and invisible, often having no human contact at all. That is when societal breakdown and change happens, and not for the better I'm sure we would all agree. Unfortunately, the West especially seems to be accelerating in that direction, with no obvious solutions.

Alpha widowing definitely is a thing, especially since dating apps started matching up average women with player/chad/badboy "alpha" types on a massive scale. So, while these females on dating apps are basically one step above jerking off to the chads they chase, they in return get alpha widowed, or ruined for romantic relationships. For a very long time if not permanently. It's a heavy price, but their own fault for conflating sexual attention with true romantic interest.

That implies, or rather requires, regular sex with a committed partner to maintain a strong, emotional pair bond. That's the crux of it. Someone who has slept around a lot sees sex as sport or recreation rather than procreation, and the adhesive that binds a relationship together. Thus, they are more likely to cheat. It's quite simple really. A woman with a high count has learned to divorce feelings from physical intimacy. This is something completely unnatural and probably irreversible. Look at this absolute unit out here, rejecting women. Is that a dig because he claims to be voluntarily celibate? It's pretty dumb to think that all men who can get women will want to. You all are so full of yourselves it is hilarious.

That sounds like BS to me. I mean, of course it can happen that some single men will blame society for their problems, and become violent. That's nothing new though. All of the single, older men that I know are just chilling enjoying life, friends and hobbies. I imagine it's the same for most older single women. Who knows what it's like behind closed doors for single people. I'm sure it can be difficult. I do feel for them and wish they could find a life partner. Someone who matches with and com…

Yeah I should clarify. I meant people in a committed relationship who are open to having a child, but not right now. So what is "unwanted" becomes inconvenience in terms of timing. My perspective is from my own marriage, and it worked great for us in terms of timing when we had kids. It's probably best to advise, use a damn condom all the time if you absolutely don't want a pregnancy to happen. Otherwise own the consequences. No ifs or buts.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/11/22 01:14 AM

I agree. These pretty boy types getting with loads of questionable quality women on dating apps (or otherwise) need to grow up and be held accountable. There's a lot more to life than your dick. If they impregnate someone, they should own it. No excuses. Maybe the crackdown on abortion will result in more consequences for them.

Well I'm not one of those men, and it saddens me that women choose to sleep with irresponsible idiots like that. As far as I'm concerned, if you're a guy and don't want a kid, either wear a condom or keep it in the pants. Trusting the word of some stranger is foolish. Better yet, only have sex with someone you are committed to. You can then use the pull out method unless you want a pregnancy. That's far from foolproof. If your relationship is built on something more than just physical sex, unint…

Not going to get into a debate on abortion, but how about using 1 of the other bajillion contraceptive options available? Or maybe just not sleep with someone, unless you want to potentially have a child. Sort of like, how nature intended. The economic and social percussions of having a child out of wedlock was a powerful incentive for women to guard their sexuality. For eons. Maybe the solution to today's mess is to reintroduce that. They may be getting handouts now, but the coming economic dow…

It's nice to hear that at least some retain morals and standards. That will pay off because quality men want quality women for companionship. It's sad to see the devastation brought to courting and relationships because of dating apps. I used to be pro-choice. Once I realized just how many consider abortion to be yet another form of contraception, I felt sick to my stomach. People treating procreation as recreation need to take responsible for the result of their choices.

That's cool. I am an engineer who has worked with statistics for the better part of 3 decades, especially recently. I have looked at studies that are available in this area, and the data acquisition and statistical methods were solid enough for me. I see definite patterns in the data that reinforce my own common sense. It's not really worth debating anymore, so we can agree to disagree.

Remember, we're talking about relationships not hooking up. You may think it juvenile, but that just tells me you're probably younger. People gain wisdom with age, and men learn about true female nature with experience. It's not just common sense that promiscuity damages women for relationships. Statistics back it up (marital happiness, likelihood of infidelity, divorce, etc).
/r/PurplePillDebate17/11/22 08:54 PM
2

It's simple, really. The thing with highly promiscuous females is, while they may be easy to get and good at fucking, they've probably lost all ability to make love. Something necessary for pair bonding and relationships. Getting with many men wrecks them emotionally, if they haven't learned to disassociate or otherwise divorce feelings from intimacy. Permanent damage either way. They have chosen to be temporary use only, so be sure to treat them as such.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/11/22 02:49 AM

Ah, you're earlier reply was ambiguous. I thought you were referring to the OP's post. My reply is spot on, which is why men with options do not seek promiscuous females for relationships. You're more than welcome to them lol.

Stay far away from females seeking non monogamy. Like any other promiscuous sex addict, they're probably good at mindless fucking but have forgotten how to make love. These people have chosen a life of objectification over anything meaningful, and that shit gets ingrained psychologically. Hence the term, "they belong to the streets." You would think this stuff should be obvious, but it goes to show how far society has fallen.

Sorry but the "insecurity" argument is a hot load of BS. Even the most clueless of men are realizing that most promiscuous females are forever ruined for relationships. For the sake of argument, say with n-count greater than age. Which is A LOT of bodies. Women (and men, I'd argue) who engage in frequent sex with different partners have learned to divorce feelings from the physical act of intimacy. Oh, I have a daughter too and we do sometimes talk about modern dating and relationships. The solution for her was to straight up not do OLD, and to try to cut back on social media. She's attempting to meet people the old fashioned way. That is, organically, at places where normal people congregate, like at Uni, social clubs and places like dog parks. I'm saying women's "standards" have become inflated and warped. It was not like this at all only a decade or two ago, where most "average" men and women got paired off in marriage. Hint: it's unlikely most men suddenly became ugly and undesirable (invisible is a more accurate term) to most women by virtue of anything they did, or didn't do. From what I understand, OLD dominates dating these days. So it is very relevant to any dating and relationship discussion. That "average women" somehow feel superior to "average men" is absurd and illogical. Consider Bali or Java, Indonesia. Family and tradition are still very important there with immorality viewed as shameful. Therefore, the rate of virginity is high among the unmarried. And women should be far more selective about who they let stick their dick into them. I sure see a lot of single mothers around. What's that saying? Oh yeah, "the more sex a woman has before marriage, the less she will have after". Promiscuous women, who have been there done that with a bus load of other dudes, are addicted to variety. LTR sex is the opposite of this and will get dull and boring quickly. Something new and exciting is needed to get the juices flowing again. In other words, infidelity. Yet another reason why N count is critical when screening potential mates.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/10/22 06:04 PM

Yup, I'm free to believe what I will, and you're free to do as you like. High N isn't good for men either. I've seen too many former gigolo or player types not age well, often becoming depressed and/or alcoholics later on. Husks of their former selves and perpetually single. An over emphasis on sex is unhealthy, and especially bad for LTRs and marriage because sex will always be more exciting with some unknown rando than the same old, same old. There's a difference between sexual attention and true romantic interest. Unfortunately, many women cannot differentiate, or choose not to in this era of secrecy and anonymity (dating apps). Sorry, but men with options will always choose someone with a lower N for a serious relationship. Always have and always will. How can someone feel any genuine romantic interest for someone who has been there, done that with countless other dudes? Again, N is subjective so let's say 50+ for sake of argument.…

Body count is entirely subjective, and relative. For some people 5 is high and for others that's low and something like 50+ is considered high. For myself, I think above the statistical average of 8 is high. Regardless, it is absolutely true that as a woman's body count rises, the chance of her being well adjusted diminishes. It's the same for promiscuous men in my experience. Therefore, settling for promiscuous people in a relationship is fraught with risk and not worth it. Not to mention, it's…

You could be her second boyfriend and the second person she had sex with and she could say something like that. What are the chances of something like that happening in one prior relationship vs 9? Correct. You are definitely committing to someone if you date them (assuming exclusivity) for years. However, that is VERY far from marriage level commitment. The point is to look before you leap by spending enough time with someone to fully vet them. To see how their values match up, how they handle good and bad days, and how they deal with adversity. Also, how they handle the routine of a steady relationship, including sex when it's not as exciting as it once was when it was new.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/09/22 12:11 AM

That's exactly why I advocate not rushing into relationships and attachment. The more time that goes by, the more you learn about them as a person. Whether they're being honest, or not. If they are dishonest, secretive or inconsistent, dump them.

Why would this come up on a first date? It's a process.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/09/22 08:28 PM

This is why you don't rush headlong into relationships and emotional attachment, especially these days. You date for months or even years before any level of commitment. This is called vetting and being selective. There are lots of tell tale signs about a person's past. All you have to do is pay attention after the infatuation stage.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/09/22 08:26 PM

Similar to an employer wanting to know a job candidate's work history, it's extremely important to know a relationship candidate's prior relationship history. Otherwise we are going in blind, which is a no go for anyone with any sense.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/09/22 08:18 PM
1

This is absolutely true. When it comes to relationships, getting with a "hot girl" with a promiscuity problem will lead to nothing but stress. It simply isn't worth it, hence why traditional women are so highly prized and valued when it comes to commitment. Also, "hot or not" matters significantly less in a relationship due to familiarity. Even a supermodel will not seem so super after months, years of same old, same old.

I think what you wrote makes sense. Attitudes towards something is just as important as past behaviors. However, a promiscuous past is still higher risk than a non-promiscuous past according to statistics and common sense. Therefore it is still important to be 100% honest about our pasts and who we are, and who we have been. Especially at the start of a relationship when we don't fully know a prospective partner yet. Female "sexual expertise" only has value for paid sex workers, or the for free ones off dating apps. Those are whores, and objects to be used rather than women to men. It's on us to attempt to help them avoid self sabotage/harm like hookup culture masquerading as 'dating', that is prevalent today. Coincidence that so many fathers are absent from their kids' lives? We do this by setting a good example, along with instilling morals and values when they are young and impres…

We're clearly making different points. Mine is consistent with the OP's post that high N brings an increased risk of trauma and baggage brought into a relationship. Marriage, infidelity and divorce stats validate this risk correlation with promiscuity. You're saying that trauma can happen to anyone, including those with low body counts. I don't disagree with that. However, when choosing potential partners, it is prudent to minimize risk factors to have the best chance at a lasting, positive outc…

And I made the point that, like any risky behavior, the more one engages in promiscuity, the chance of trauma goes up. Of course someone low n could be unlucky. Any claim that "it's just dick" and no big deal is just silly. That dick is attached to a complex human being.

It's not just men here. Promiscuity in women has always, ALWAYS, been viscerally repulsive for men with choices. That's just common sense. Female "sexual expertise" only has value for prostitutes, porn stars, or the for free equivalent on dating apps for men who engage in that BS. And like crossing a busy street, the more times you do it, the chance of receiving trauma goes up...

The point is, in this context, it's a roll of the dice with each new partner. The larger the number, the greater the statistical chance that there is trauma present.

I don't understand where this "sex fomo" has come from. The emphasis on sex is way too high these days, which is unhealthy for relationships. Sex will always be more exciting with the new and unknown. There's so much more to life and relationships, so a fixation on sex is a major red flag.

Given the correlation between past relationship trauma and parental trauma, it is just safer to choose someone with fewer past sexual relationships. Everything else equal. That's just common sense.

I have been married 25 years to a great woman, so no hardship for me. Thank you very much. But I do try to understand the, yes, plight of young "average" men looking for love. How is it their fault that anonymous, secretive online dating has wrecked women's views and expectations of sex and relationships? They are the collateral damage. Maybe, just maybe, you will understand down the road when you mature a bit. Or if you join the ranks of the undesirable single women who have been overly promisc…

Great job attempting to understand another point of view - NOT. The plight of average men forced to fight over low quality scraps, because so many women are thirsty for sexual attention from attractive men who like to pump and dump and move on. The other option is to become celibate. I would propose another option of finding traditional, loyal, high quality women overseas, but most men don't have the means for that.

I know first hand from various friends and acquaintances that high-n takes a toll on many men. It messes with the emotions and reduces people to objects to be discarded. Many promiscuous men become shells of there former selves later in life. I believe it is even worse for high-n women. Being a whore may be seem like all fun and games early on for females drunk on male attention. Little do they know that these females typically become undesirable "old maids" as other women get married off. Where…

Bodycount is extremely important to men for relationships. There are so many reasons, starting with it is impossible to feel romantic love towards a girl who has been passed around like a whore. Zilch, nada. She just can't be special anymore, since men highly value chastity in women, basically since the dawn of time. Rather after a certain bodycount, she should just live out her life being objectified, as she chose to be. The tavern wenches of old were only good for one thing, and it's the same …

That stat has got to predate online dating. Promiscuity for women has exploded ever since they could order thirsty men online. Men who wouldn't be caught dead being seen in public with them. Completely anonymous and private ("you up?"), just their dirty secret. That math adds up pretty fast...

Who made Romantic love the standard to abide to? Unsure of that, as men are natural romantics and have felt that way towards women special to them for a very long time. Since the medieval period at least. What I do know is, it is impossible for men to feel romantic love towards whores. No chance, zip, nada. Those women can't be special anymore, but rather should accept being the objects they chose to be.

But, that would be 20 times more likely to happen in 20 ONS encounters. Not at all. Most men won't randomly beat a rando girl. The ones who get abused are almost always in LTR or marriages Uhhh no, unless you're calling my niece a liar. One of her friends apparently got roughed up by a "date" before. Sorry, but ONS are just plain hollow and empty. Sex and intimacy is decidedly quality over quantity for the vast majority of men who have experienced both. Of course men who have been cut off from sex during peak hormone years are going to get a bad case of FOMO. I mean, duh. It's no accident that men are the romantic gender. Why do men want romance? I believe that (straight) men are biologically programmed to move mountains for the right girl. Those can be incredibly intoxicating instincts and feelings. Some of the best memories from my late teens and early 20s were relationships with quality GFs who I had initial crushes and infatuation, and then romantic feelings for. I wouldn't trade those natural highs for anything, and the experiences were amazing too. Way beyond just sex. Feeling romantic thoughts towards some…

If women want to act like sex addicted perverts fucking anyone or anything that makes them tingle, go for it. On the "dark secret world" comment... I was thinking more of the chads since they're getting with women they'd be embarrassed to be seen in public with. Thus a secret, usually in the dark of night. These guys should be embarrassed about their behavior. The women are just plain sex and/or validation addicts. Not only does it cheapen something that was once special and intimate to them (destroying pair bonding along the way), but also the thought of a woman's promiscuous past repels any high value…

Sorry, but a promiscuous mindset doesn't have an on/off switch like that. This is why the correlation between marriage/infidelity/divorce stats and body count isn't good. Why some men have low standards for who they will sleep with has always been a mystery to me. Some men are just the proverbial dogs I guess. Many things would improve if these morons would settle down a bit, take care of their urges themselves sometimes, or just get some damn hobbies to put their energy and vigor into. Men are increasingly entering into relationships thinking, "she can't be yours, it's only your turn." This has real ramifications, aside from the obliteration of romanticism. Most men aren't into casual sex, either by choice or not, and are saying screw it and abandoning dating altogether. If hooking up is easy for someone, then they've damaged themselves and are incapable of deep emotional connection and intimacy (pair bonding). I don't think it's accurate to say "Men want the most sexual partners possible". Rather, it's probably true that most men want as much sex as possible. Correlation is sufficient for most men. Choosing a promiscuous woman (or man) for a LTR is fraught with risk, with high risk of economic damage. I've been married 25 years to a high quality woman, thanks. If past promiscuity truly has no bearing on your relationship, congrats. But that is the exception not the rule, which backed up by infidelity and marriage satisfaction statistics. With promiscuity so prevalent these days, especially amongst women due to the anonymity and discreetness of online dating, the "N-count question" will come up more and more. Low N women will naturally be the prize. That's just human nature.

Who cares about body counts? Men and women who are looking for relationships, that's who. If you're not into that, it's cool. But promiscuity is one of the biggest red flags for relationships, so don't be too surprised when potential partners ask. It's a real issue these days. Most gym rats don't look cut like that all the time. Far from it, and many take 'roids if they're not gifted genetically. Definitely not good for long term health. And who wants to hang out in a stuffy gym for hours. Cardio athletes, especially if naturally muscular, are the closest thing to "perma-cut". I do competitive bike racing as a natural mesomorph. Although I haven't touched weights in years, people think I lift. 38 bpm resting HR is a nice bonus. It's pretty fun hitting 50 years old and…

Every group has its bad apples. I'm sure the vast majority of involuntarily celibate types are just unattractive, nerdy and/or lack confidence. Hell, many of them probably don't even realize they're given the label "incel". Stereotyping entire groups of people isn't helpful.

I mean, isn't it a 'Duh'? Men are inherently more physical, and sex is intertwined with emotion for most of them. That's why promiscuity in a partner is so much more of a turn off for men. As well as the whole giver vs receiver thing. No real man can tolerate his girl taking the DNA from another. Cheating is obviously terrible for both sexes. Not religious in the slightest, but I believe that promiscuity (a superset of infidelity) is also wrong, and things like STI/STDs, unwanted pregnancies, an…

Ok, let me clarify... Fantasies, yes of course. Who doesn't have them? They're fun after all. Revenge fantasies? Unsure what that even means, so probably not. 52M here. No pill, since I've been married to the same amazing, high quality woman for 25 years. However, the more I follow forums like PPD, the more I think that the RP guys have the most realistic view of the current dating environment. Why am I on here? Frankly, it's crazy to watch these "modern women" follow each other over the proverbial cliff like lemmings. I think you will see a lot of lonely, bitter women in the coming years. Too prideful to admit that they f'd up big time trying to emulate promiscuous men. Many of them will likely be dependent on the state with several kids from different fathers, especially after the recent supreme court ruling. It's a sad, self inflicted wound but choices have consequences. There's a reason that slut shaming has been a thing throughout all of history, and primarily from other women. Female elders have utterly …

I was just responding to your post. I think there's a, ahem, slight difference between instant gratification when it comes to eating versus having sex lol. But apparently the latter is just recreation to you so perhaps not so much. It's been a painful realization for me that it's actually us men who are the hopeless romantics, and women are the sex-obsessed deviants of the genders. I don't believe that most people have some magical switch that selects between "meaningful" and "casual" when it comes to sex. But hey, perhaps you're unique. Regarding cheating, if you've invested yourself emotionally and financially, for years, into a relationship or marriage, I suspect you would be singing a different tune. And you would be much more choosy the next time around.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/05/22 03:44 AM

Most reasonable people would agree that promiscuous people are FAR more likely to cheat than "sexually prude" folks in relationships. I'm pretty sure that marriage and divorce statistics also back that up. Of course no one intends to commit adultery on their relationship partner, unless they're shitty people. What I'm saying is that a viewpoint of sex as something that is special, intimate and reserved solely for the one that you love and/or are committed to, is one massive guard rail when it co…

That's all well and good, but actions speak louder than words. When considering a prospective partner to invest in (emotionally, financially, etc) it's an absolute must to understand their views on sex and intimacy. Something that is a major part of any healthy relationship. Someone with an extensive sexual history, say more past partners than their age for the sake of argument, it's much more likely that they view sex as recreational. That's by definition less special and intimate, and is a mas…

Right or wrong is subjective. However, someone treating sex like meaningless recreation while another views it as special and intimate, is a massive disconnect. That alone is a pretty damn good reason to know a prospective partner's history.

I'm not sure why you're choosing to be such a champion for promiscuity, but the vast majority of men find it repulsive. Always have and always will. What constitutes a "high N" depends on the person. If the average woman wants to whore it up and act like a prostitute thanks to the ease and anonymity of OLD, well then she doesn't deserve the average man who probably has standards. That's when her "preferred" choices dry up, of course lol. Her choices, her consequences.

Women apparently want to have their fun with one type of man, and then settle later on with a completely different type of man. That's beyond fucked up when you think about it. Extremely selfish and irresponsible at a minimum, so don't be surprised that normal people are not OK with it. Choices have consequences as most of these loose women will discover. If you told some random person from just a few decades ago that that could be a future reality, they wouldn't believe you.

The whole "AF/BB" thing is beyond ridiculous even if certain aspects of it are true. It is futile and they will likely be f'd up and full of regret in the long run. They are shallow and weak, and will be bored in any normal LTR. If it's true that most people are meeting these days via online dating apps, and the dating apps are reporting data that is even remotely accurate, the average women is having a lot more sex than the average man. Median != Mean.

Bingo. You can try to tell women that there are plenty of good men who want LTRs. But they can't wrap their heads around the fact that those men are basically invisible to them because, wait for it, they are blinded by superficial qualities. So, all of them chasing the few superficially attractive men results in said men becoming noncommittal. Shocker.
/r/PurplePillDebate15/05/22 09:25 PM

All else equal, do you think N-count has any influence on a person's capacity to cheat on a partner? Male or female. High N defined as say 30+ vs low N less than 5. Think about it and use common sense. Sex is completely different for most individuals in these groups of people. Something special and intimate vs recreational or a hobby. That's a massive difference in compatibility.

That's true, and I've seen it first hand. Some of the most miserable people are the "former player" gigolo type. Of course, this is happening with women too on a much larger scale. There are far more promiscuous women than men these days.

I'm not remotely religious, but even I feel it's not fair to paint an entire group based on the actions of a few bad apples. There are healthy reasons to deny urges and go through periods of celibacy. The self mastery is quite satisfying, and sex after such a period can feel amazing. Quality over quantity any day, especially given the floozies out there who are a libido killer. Yuck.

OLD seems to be largely about f-boys and the girls that chase them, which sadly appears to be most women. That entire game revolves around extreme superficiality and toxic masculinity, which women claim to abhor but at the same time are attracted to. It's a hot mess, and I believe the declining marriage and LTR statistics reflect this. Best bet for normal guys who are "invisible" is to not get involved in it. Dating can be a huge drain on time and resources anyway, especially in this time of hig…

It is bizarre to read through this thread. Like, has dating and sex become some sort of level-based video game? So many women giving into hedonistic urges cannot be good in the long run. So many men, average by definition, being left out will not end well either. This almost seems like one giant social experiment.
/r/PurplePillDebate10/05/22 06:20 AM

For many women, it goes well past 22/23 due to the ease and anonymity of OLD. It's something that is difficult to overlook for those "incels and redpillers" who were themselves overlooked for so long. Don't be surprised if toxic masculinity becomes something that is much more prevalent, when it is women who appear to crave it based on their dating habits.

My wife makes $110k and I $150k (both engineers), but neither of us are particularly materialistic nor big spenders, aside from world travel a couple times a year. Good grief, some people are so oblivious. Many guys are putting themselves out there and doing all the things. Problem is, due to them lacking superficial qualities that women apparently look for in OLD (looks, height, etc) they are overlooked/invisible. Of course, the flipside is all these women chasing players and then whining that they're being played. It's quite comical.

Honestly, after 20+ years together our frequency has gone way down. The quality is still high, probably due to high physical fitness on both our parts. I think the main issue for us is our different bed times, primarily due to work schedules. We are often get physical/flirty with each other throughout the day since we both WFH. We say "later", which usually doesn't come to pass. It's on us (mainly me) to better coordinate sleep schedules. There are other issues such as high work stress.

It's because they've become accustomed to (superficially attractive, of course) men way above their level who date down for the purpose of easy sex. These girls are thus ruined because they are no longer attracted to men on they're own level. A self inflicted wound that will end in loneliness and missing out on some of the best things in life, involving a partner. Average guys, by definition the vast majority, are the collateral damage.

My point was that I don't think we would have such intimacy if strong feelings weren't also involved, although I may be losing track of what we're debating lol. I acknowledge that times have changed and people may be more guarded and distant now. Anyway, the post-sex connection and vulnerable closeness couldn't happen without the sex part. Ok I disagree there. For most women IRL, pure looks are not sufficient unless maybe they are at the very tip top of men. Or, has modern dating changed that much? In that case, yikes. Prospects are not good.
/r/PurplePillDebate23/03/22 08:33 PM

I suspect a good chunk of these 'tinder studs' wouldn't be so successful out there IRL. But hey, there are classes/methods for that too so who knows. They would certainly have to work harder, rather than having thirsty girls delivered to them on a silver platter. Lol
/r/PurplePillDebate23/03/22 08:17 PM
1

No judgement on that from me. And my idea of what romance is has certainly evolved from when I was a teen and twenty-something. However, it's hard for me to even imagine what sex would feel like without strong feelings involved. Like masturbation maybe? For my wife and I, post-sex physical closeness/intimacy and talking is extremely powerful. Perhaps one of the best parts. I don't think it would feel that way if we didn't have a strong connection.
/r/PurplePillDebate23/03/22 08:02 PM
1

In my own defense, I was a bit of a hopeless romantic who usually fell for his GFs. Lol I've matured a lot since those days. Most of them eventually dumped me, so I had to keep looking until I found the right one. I don't preach avoiding relationships. God no. I do think that casual hookup sex is not the answer and is actually very damaging long term for both men and women, for so many reasons.
/r/PurplePillDebate23/03/22 07:50 PM
1

With the caveat that I've never engaged in hookup sex myself, I can envision it being awfully close to masturbation and porn at times. At least from a guy's point of view.
/r/PurplePillDebate23/03/22 07:40 PM
2

This is why I try not to judge women too harshly, although I fail on that sometimes. Temptation in the age of loneliness is a powerful thing. If the tables were turned and it was much easier for men to hookup online, of course the vast majority of them would be uber promiscuous. It's a separate debate as to the ramifications of promiscuity on either sex. I just wish that both sides would try harder to understand the other on this. That is the path forward IMHO.
/r/PurplePillDebate23/03/22 07:32 PM
2

That's a bit harsh. It's a plain fact that online dating appears to be extremely difficult for most men. Just going off numbers and the polar opposite experience for men vs women. I dated pre-OLD and I was pretty confident and did ok. I had my share of rejections but also successes. However, if I had experienced the constant rejection that many guys experience today, I don't know what would've happened. Maybe I would've become an "incel" myself. I just don't know, so I can't judge these guys.
/r/PurplePillDebate23/03/22 07:09 PM
1

I believe it is in online dating where this "attraction" factor is much more pronounced. It is there where physical looks and other superficial qualities are emphasized. Out in the wild, aka IRL, it's a whole nother ballgame.

Sex is still special to me, or at least I think it is. Maybe it's more of a mindset. A high N count doesn't help there. Sex and intimacy in a healthy relationship, with connection and compatibility between partners, can be pretty phenomenal though. I guess that was my main point.

Oh come on, I never said she was horrible. In fact, she was pretty great to hang out with. As well as go out to the bars and dancing and stuff. We were just less compatible, sexually. It's kinda sad to me that sex and intimacy has lost its specialness for so many people. It didn't have to be that way. One reason I think casual sex is unnatural and unhealthy, not to mention low class and unattractive. Before marrying my (n=1) wife, I had dated women with varying numbers of prior partners. We probably should start off by defining what exactly is a "hoe phase". Is it <10 partners, or 25? 100??? Obviously, the more past partners, the deeper the underlying issues driving this behavior. Those who engage in this stuff don't upset me. I truly feel sorry for them, and their futures. I think this is a big factor. After chasing random sex experiences like an out of control adrenaline junkie, how can that not ruin any and all future LTR vanilla sex? I guess it depends on degree. Are we talking a "hoe phase" of <10 partners? 20? 100?

Uh, most people's lives do not revolve around sex acts, weird kinks and promiscuity. That's the realm of Hoes and other sex addict adrenaline junkies. A "hoe phase" is just straight up, unbridled sex addiction in my view. Basically, weak minded people giving into their primal urges. It's neither healthy nor attractive, and is probably a strong indication of underlying mental issues. A high physical libido (SES lol whatever) can be handled by a relationship partner, and/or toys and hands. Most people engaging in this behavior are seeking some sort of validation. So yes, slut shaming (of men too!) is healthy for society as a whole.

Ahhh my apologies, I had the impression you were much younger. I agree on all points except the long term consequences of "hookup culture". Sorry, but high-n women, and men for that matter, are considered gross by most people. Being so unable to control primal urges and engage in unhealthy behavior is low class and unattractive. These folks probably have underlying mental issues, and have a high probability of infidelity in future relationships. Not only according to statistics, but to common sense as well. It's sort of like shopping for a used car. You're likely much better off with low mileage, than a high mileage used car.

Perhaps not the textbook definition of anxiety, but more of a general nervousness/worry, constantly playing out possible scenarios in one's mind.
