Our anniversary is 4 days before the divorce is final. Any ideas?Sorry, my post wasn't very clear. What I meant was, what should I do on our anniversary to stay sane. I'm kicking around a few ideas. Go on a long hike. Gaming day. Hit the gym extra long. Go skydiving (probably too expensive). See a movie or two. Anyways. That's the idea. If you have any suggestions it would be appreciated. | /r/Divorce_Men | 28/06/26 01:18 PM
To everyone going through it right now, there IS light at the end of the tunnel. I promiseThanks for the post! Right now it feels like my world is ending. Posts like these give me how that if I can just hold on, things will get better. | /r/Divorce_Men | 15/06/26 05:51 AM
Can you men remind me not to beg for her back? The urge is strong to ask her to come back. That's a sobering thought. It would be so strange for her to do a 180. I honestly don't know what I would do in that situation. I think fear is making me want to reach out more than anything. | /r/Divorce_Men | 15/06/26 05:49 AM
Can you men remind me not to beg for her back? The urge is strong to ask her to come back. Thanks for sharing your own experience. Right now I feel like this is unsurvivable. I know it will pass and get better with time but, holy fuck does this hurt. | /r/Divorce_Men | 15/06/26 05:45 AM
Can you men remind me not to beg for her back? The urge is strong to ask her to come back.Thanks. It's so easy to beat myself up for earlier begging. I didn't call it text her today. Tomorrow is the day she signs on her new place. I'm going to do whatever I have to in order to distract myself. | /r/Divorce_Men | 15/06/26 05:41 AM
She’s erasing the years we had togetherCan you post the link to that video? | /r/Divorce_Men | 26/05/26 09:33 PM
J'ai passé 3 mois à parler à personne. Littéralement.I started to taking to AI as well. It was actually the first "person" I went to. I guess I was afraid of admitting to my friends that my marriage failed. I wanted to hold onto the illusion that we were still together. I'm not saying that's your situation at all. I think starting with AI was really good for me. It gave me the momentum to talk to my friends. Plot twist. My friends were kind, caring, and warm when I finally told them. They didn't condemn me or judge me in any way. Also your posting… | /r/Divorce_Men | 26/05/26 02:49 AM
Spent all day in bed / couchThanks bro. Thankfully I do have a counselor. Currently we are meeting every other week. I hope it sessions can be every week soon. I really appreciate the encouragement. Sometimes this is the only place I feel like I'm understood. | /r/Divorce_Men | 25/05/26 01:33 PM
Spent all day in bed / couchThis was really encouraging. Thank you. | /r/Divorce_Men | 25/05/26 02:53 AM
Spent all day in bed / couchI really am trying. I wish my emotions would fast forward so everything isn't so fresh. Going forward we are communicating through text and email. | /r/Divorce_Men | 25/05/26 02:07 AM
Spent all day in bed / couchHey bro. Just your reply was a comfort. Just getting an empathetic response is helpful. | /r/Divorce_Men | 25/05/26 01:00 AM
When do you guys take off your ring?I have similar feelings. My stbx took off her ring two weeks after filling. Right now I don't plan to take mine off until the divorce is final. I want to say I kept my vows and didn't advertise myself as single till we were officially over. | /r/Divorce_Men | 22/05/26 04:49 AM
I need to know that I am not aloneNot alone bro. You are in a completely normal space. Your body is literally going through withdrawal like symptoms because of the loss. Major depression is absolutely biological. This means the symptoms will pass for most of us. However, I do recommend talking with a clinician about anti-depressants. They can literally be a life saver during acute major depression. They saved me a year ago when my wife decided she wanted a separation. Secondly I recommend joining a men's group through The ManKin… | /r/Divorce_Men | 21/05/26 08:26 PM
All I see for the future is darkness.I can't imagine finding out your ex was manipulating your to commit suicide. That's terrible bro. Thank you for the encouragement, it's getting easier each day. | /r/Divorce_Men | 21/05/26 08:02 PM
All I see for the future is darkness.I'm going to sound like a broken record if you look at my other responses but, thank you for taking the time to respond to my post. Especially with such excellent advice and encouragement. I've watched a lot of Rachel Sloans videos, they've been helpful in understanding my stbx's mentality. When I was in martial arts our instructor would always say, "slow to flow, flow to fast." I'm still in the process of slowing down. | /r/Divorce_Men | 21/05/26 08:00 PM
All I see for the future is darkness. Thanks for the book recommendation. I've been trying to decide what to read during this time. I really does feel like they hand you a grenade! I haven't made good choices for my physical health during this time. I attempt to justify my inactivity by saying I work a very active job. But, when I'm honest with myself, doing a physical activity I choose is actually relaxing. Plus I can choose what I want to strengthen. | /r/Divorce_Men | 21/05/26 07:45 PM
All I see for the future is darkness.I completely agree with your side note. My inner voice says shit to me that I would never say, even to someone I hate. I think I have to love myself to best love my kiddos. | /r/Divorce_Men | 21/05/26 07:38 PM
All I see for the future is darkness.Sup bro. You were one of the first to comment and your advice / encouragement meant more than I can say in a comment. I took your advice and asked for an extension, which was granted. I've started by collecting the easy things, tax returns, paystubs, bank statements. Once I got rolling it was easier. My support network consists of my mom, brother, two good friends, a pastor, and a men's group I joined through the ManKindProject. I was going to al-anon (father was an alcoholic) but it's at a time… | /r/Divorce_Men | 21/05/26 07:36 PM
All I see for the future is darkness. You're 100% right. Looking back I can see that she was checked out a long time ago. She just didn't know herself. | /r/Divorce_Men | 21/05/26 07:26 PM
All I see for the future is darkness.Gattsama, your whole post was godsend. I was feeling crazy that she was doing so well while I was a wreck. Your point that she has already been planning for months or years put things into perspective. I really did feel like a shotgun blast to the chest. Meanwhile she's excited about her new place, getting it painted and decorated. You are so right about being in husband mode. That's been the core of my identity for most of the marriage. I followed your advice and started choosing to be fit. I j… | /r/Divorce_Men | 21/05/26 07:25 PM
All I see for the future is darkness.Honestly that is encouraging. Thank you! | /r/Divorce_Men | 21/05/26 07:03 PM
All I see for the future is darkness.Thank you for sharing your story and I'm so sorry for your loss. The longer I sit with my new reality the easier it is to not ideate. If I have any feelings about taking action I have my family and 988. | /r/Divorce_Men | 21/05/26 07:02 PM
All I see for the future is darkness. You're 100% right. My mind knows my kids would be devastated and be at a higher risk of committing suicide themselves. I just hope my heart (irrational brain) will catch up. | /r/Divorce_Men | 13/05/26 02:58 AM
All I see for the future is darkness.Thank you. I'm sorry you're going through this too. It's nice to know I'm not in hell alone. | /r/Divorce_Men | 13/05/26 02:54 AM
All I see for the future is darkness. That's a really good idea. I need something like this, otherwise I'll keep rounding myself. | /r/Divorce_Men | 13/05/26 02:52 AM
