lol, I explain exactly why I disagree -- that's my second paragraph, as well as the latter part of my opening sentence. Your linked OP may caveat lightly that these are generalizations, but they're very broad ones, and exceptions aren't merely isolated flukes. If your generalization is wrong 30% of the time (as one rough approximation), then don't be surprised when people familiar with numerous counterexamples point this out. Disagree with you and the linked OP, which relies on a dogmatic, simplified, universalized view of sex differences. Male/female friendship is possible, because men and women aren't always the mars/venus caricatures your link suggests. They can naturally share hobbies, intellectual interests, professional and life experiences, and cognitive and conversational styles. The caveat is that while friendship is possible, mere friendship is can be difficult/fraught. One setting where this doesn't apply …
