If there can't be a fair debate there then there can't be a fair debate on PPD. Go to r/GCdebatesQT and voice your complaints about how the debate is unfair.

Are you going to ignore the part where you keep using the crimes of transvestites and disguised cis men to smear transgender women? If you read all the links you'd see that most of them are specifically about men who identify as women. I thought merely identifying as a woman makes someone a woman, according to trans activists. So according to you when someone that's trans commits a crime, they're not truly trans? I believe that's called the no true scotsman fallacy. Your claim is that a few scat…

I'm saying that you're okay with men walking right in. Trans men are fine with you, because the bigot inside you thinks you'll be able to tell a cis man, a trans man, a cis woman, and a trans woman all apart at a glance. Most of the time, yes. But for those times I can't, then that's why I'm for addition of unisex bathrooms. Do you even read my replies properly? And that's why your argument falls apart. You can't. If you want trans men to use the women's room, you need to allow bearded men, with…

You'd sound way more believable if you cared about trans men in your bathrooms. But you're incredibly cool with someone who looks like a cis-man just walking in, and doing who knows what? That's why I'm for adding unisex bathrooms, or at least if they're not possible to build everywhere then the men's bathroom should be turned into a unisex one while the women's bathroom stays the women's bathroom. Also just because a woman is very masculine in appearance doesn't means she'll do 'who knows what'…

It means that FtMs had higher risk for criminal convicitons compared to normal women, while MtF didn't have higher risk for criminal convictions compared normal men. Men have a much higher risk for criminal convictions than women, so it goes pretty much like: normal men=MtFs>FtMs>normal women. EDIT: If a transwoman is a man who identifies as a woman, then any man can identify as a woman and enter women's spaces and put women and girls in danger.

The wave of transgender violence is a sick fantasy. http://nounequalrights.com/information/wp-content/uploads/2014/05/The-Threat-to-Women-and-Girls-Illustrated-1.pdf https://theysaythisneverhappens.wordpress.com/ http://thenewbacklash.blogspot.com/p/9-documented-harms-to-women-and-girls.html https://gendertrender.wordpress.com/2011/05/28/men-love-the-ladies-restroom-transgender-edition/ https://outofmypantiesnow.wordpress.com/2013/10/28/when-is-90-not-substantially-all/ https://terfisaslur.com/ …

Because you're obsessed with genitals, to the exclusion of all else? That's not an argument. Google any attempt at utopia. So no source? That illustration comes from one of the many cis-women you're trying to white knight for, hero. Again no argument, just some silly picture? Also I'm a woman. We're not all afraid to listen to them. Again no argument. Nobody cares about your obsession with their genitals. What are you talking about? And again no argument, just rudeness. Seriously?! Yes Cherry pi…

I thought that the red pill is from Total Recall. Because that's your entire argument for why the brain can't have any parts or structures that are sexed. No dick. No vagina. Therefore, internal gender identity is entirely based on feelings, because reasons. I don't see how I'm wrong. You're not giving an argument. Sure it does. If you gutted a cis-man's reproductive system, and replaced it with absolutely nothing, but kept him alive, would that mean he's no longer a man? He is a man because he …

I wish your comment was here before I wrote some of my comments lol. I think a lot of arguments happen where people are thinking of different things, but think they're talking about the same thing. Happens to me a lot.

Why are you talking about pills? I know that this is PurplePillDebate, but I have never mentioned anything about red or blue pills. And yes, an adam's apple or a Y chromosome don't have reproductive systems attached to them, why would that mean that they don't exist? How have I not put a single coherent argument? No, the brain does not make someone male or female. I've already said that a woman is an adult human female and a man is an adult human male. If you disagree, then can you define what a…

Where is your source that it improves many people's lives? Why are you asking me for evidence that brains aren't sexed when the burden of proof lies on the one making the claim? I don't believe brains have a male or female sex because brains don't have reproductive systems attached to them. How am I arguing feelings? The whole trans argument is based on feelings. The ones confusing masculinity/femininity with male/female has been the trans side. I don't understand your last sentence.

It probably doesn't make sense to you because according to you a woman is someone who is feminine and a man is someone who is masculine. She's pretty masculine, so to you she's a man. If she said she identified as a woman, would you not call her a woman because of how masculine she is?

Thrilled to have the experience of being mutilated, abused and seen as a freak? Of peeing out of a hole in the abdomen? Of being called a girl even when no one really thinks it's true, when even he knew it wasn't? Not every comment there is great, but a lot of interesting discussion went on there. Also what do you mean by your last sentence?

Then the systems in those cultures don't make sense. What cultures are you even talking about? Even Pakistan which has a third gender disagrees with trans ideology. Can you define what a man is without being vague or using circular reasoning?

Addressing him as a man makes sense because he is a man. Appearance and behavior doesn't make someone a woman. Buck Angel is an actual woman. Just because she's masculine doesn't mean she's a man. If I put on a realistic looking gorilla suit and acted like a gorilla, doesn't mean that I'm actually a gorilla.

Ok, well then I'm gonna go read up on social constructionism. Turns out a social construct is something quite different than I thought it was and I wouldn't be surprised if most people are as confused about it as I am.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/08/17 08:14 PM
1

Ah I see. But then can there be such a thing as something that's not a social construct from the point of view of a society? That might be a stupid question, idk.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/08/17 07:53 PM

I also don't think a man is a chick with a dick, but I believe that the reason other differences between men and women exist is because sex organs exist in the first place. If I magically made it so that humans are no longer born with reproductive systems, would those humans still develop like the men and women that currently exist? Would they even be called men and women? It's interesting to think about.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/08/17 06:35 PM
2

I personally believe that being a man or a woman is decided by sex organs, because if sex organs didn't exist, then sexes wouldn't exist. In that case there would be no male or female people, therefore no men or women. Intersex conditions can be pretty complicated, but for those who aren't intersex it's easy to see who's male or female.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/08/17 05:14 PM
3

Yes that's it. I meant the way people measured time is a social construct, but time itself is not a social construct. I'm a bit confused lately and have a hard time writing out my thoughts.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/08/17 04:34 PM
2

I don't believe that brains have sexes(unless they have sex organs attached to them lol). But if you mean sexed as in some brains are more 'feminine' and some more 'masculine', then do you believe that someone with a 'masculine' brain is male?
/r/PurplePillDebate21/08/17 04:28 PM
4

Maybe I'm being dumb, but even though I can understand the OP example of time being partially a social construct, I don't think sex is in any way a social construct. I understand that deciding what time it is is a concept made by people, but the existence of sexes isn't. Maybe I just misunderstood something, sorry.

A male performing femininity and identifying with the feminine gender role is not a woman. A woman is an adult human female. A woman is not someone who is feminine. Men should be allowed to be as feminine as they want and not be called women. Also sex is not a social construct, even when human societies didn't exist living beings that have sexes and sexually reproduce existed.

Gender is completely irrelevant. I also don't see tribes as relevant when it comes to reality and facts, since they believe in things like spirits, ghosts, demons, magic etc. As I've said multiple times before, a man is an adult human male and a woman is an adult human female. Those are the definitions. As far as I see, according to you, a woman is someone that is feminine and a man is someone that is masculine. I completely disagree with that. A woman should be allowed to be as masculine as she…

What do you mean not according to my gender system? Of course it's the only logical one, because it's the only one that's not a vague mess and also doesn't use circular reasoning.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/07/17 11:17 AM

No, a biological male is never a woman. Gender has nothing to do with being a man or a woman, because a man is an adult human male and a woman is an adult human female. Gender is masculinity and femininity. I actually agree that sex and gender are distinct, one is biological reality(male and female-sex), while the other is a bunch of stereotypes(masculinity and femininity-gender).

I've googled it and I was wrong. Botanically it is a fruit, but by definition a vegetable is an edible part of a plant. So a tomato is both a fruit and a vegetable. Males still can't be women though.
/r/PurplePillDebate23/07/17 11:45 PM
2

If someone called a tomato a vegetable I would correct them, because it's not a vegetable. I disagree that in a social context gender matters, I don't think gender is relevant at all. When I refer to someone as a man or a woman, I'm talking about sex. Changing sex is just not possible. A man can't magically get female sex organs instead of male ones. The most he can do is get his penis inverted, but that is not in any way a vagina.
/r/PurplePillDebate23/07/17 11:07 PM

I agree. Personally, I see the words sex and gender as different things which are best explained here: https://sexandgenderintro.com/

Can you define what a man and woman is specifically, for example "a man is someone that has ____ social identity and ____role/performance"? I've now read Serena Nanda's "Gender Diversity: Crosscultural Variations" (page 11-13) and don't see where it says that feminine men were regarded as women. Also the definition of homosexual is "a person who is sexually attracted to people of the same sex", so it seems they were okay with homosexuality if one of the men was feminine.

What is a man and a woman according to you? I don't know much about the Native American thing, but Wikipedia says "Not all tribes/nations have rigid gender roles, but, among those that do, the most usual spectrum that has been documented is that of four genders: feminine woman, masculine woman, feminine man, masculine man." So going by that they didn't see transwomen as women, but as feminine men. I disagree that the brain makes someone a man or a woman. "It just does." isn't an answer. How woul…

How does someone know if they're a man or a woman if they don't even know what a man or woman is? Again, why would the brain even make someone a man or a woman? I absolutely hate lying and refuse to do it just because if I don't it might upset people. Being a man or a woman is not a look or a performance, but a biological state. It doesn't matter how feminine a man is, he is still a man. Same goes for women, it doesn't matter how masculine she is, she is still a woman. Femininity doesn't make so…

You said that the brain makes someone a man or a woman, but then how do you know that it's a man's or woman's brain if it's the brain that decides that someone is man or a woman? You have to define what a man and woman are first. A woman being someone with a woman's brain is circular reasoning. I meant it's not a big deal when I was called a boy because it didn't "trigger" me to be referred to as the opposite sex, it was still incorrect though. What IS a big deal to me is that trans people are t…

I still don't believe in being in the wrong body. Even if it was true, how can someone know they have a "wrong" body? By not being comfortable with it? I'd say that most people aren't comfortable with their bodies, doesn't mean that their bodies are "wrong". I didn't say that chromosomes make someone a man or a woman, but the sex organs that they are born with. If the brain makes someone a man or a woman, then how do you know which brain is male or female? If a brain is female because it's a typ…

There is no such thing as "being born in the wrong body" unless you believe in souls or something. And why would the brain make someone a man or a woman? Being male or female is a biological state that exists because humans are a species that sexually reproduces. It has nothing to do with the brain because the brain isn't a sex organ. Also I strongly disagree with calling transitioning and using the "correct" pronouns the "proper" treatment. The proper treatment would be helping them understand …

He is a man based on the fact that he was born with male sex organs. Why would someone's name, appearance, gender identity and overall vibe make someone a man or a woman? "Overall vibe". What does that even mean? And of course sex is important in a social and interpersonal setting since sex makes someone a man or a woman. Gender is masculinity and femininity. You can be a feminine man, but you're still a man. Same goes for masculine women. And what "sex roles" would they forced to be in if they …
