This is really shitty but people who actually have just a very ugly or unattractive face, plastic surgery can only do so much and is very expensive. if someone really wants it they should do what they want. i don't think there should be much stigma, I guess.

Its sad that its more realistic to some people that you as an asian remove your "asian features," rather than people in our society which drills in our head racial caricatures and that minorities are ugly take a fucking second to reflect why they think asian features are ugly or not masculine.

Also people shit on the guys on lookism but They have a point. I'm just not sure that some of them couldn't use some intensive training in social skills and treatment for severe depression

I get a feeling of irrational disgust for the very idea of me ever having plastic surgery. I rather stay ugly me than pay out of my nose to become a little better looking.

And I absolutely detest the idea of changing your racial traits. People feeling racially inferior make me angry. Have some goddamn pride in who you are. Take pride in having Asian features.

But these are all my personal opinions. I don't think more plastic surgery is good but people can do whatever the fuck they want to do. If you want to surgically get rid of your Asian features, that's entirely your decision to make.

Your question is too broad to answer as any type of surgery you have to consider the cost/benefit. The benefit will vary from person based on their appearance and what their goals/values are.

The short answer is YES, unattractive guys should at least consider it. Short guys should also consider limb lengthening surgery, but the incremental benefit is totally different for someone going from 5'4 to 5'9 compared to a guy going from 5'11 to 6'4. Facial appearance is probably the same way. If a guy is already 5'8 to 5'10 he's certainly not going to stand out with his height, but going to drastic lengths to increase probably isn't worth it. A guy going from 5'4 to 5'9 has probably instantly increased the % of girls that would consider dating him from 15-20% of all women to something closer to 60-75%.
But a guy going from 5'10 to 6'4 has maybe increased it from 75% to 95%. If he was really unhappy with the quantity and quality of his options at 5'9, maybe the surgery is worth it.

This is not the best comparison to facial appearance as limb lengthening is very extreme and may have long-term complications but you get the idea.

A better question would be, how much do you think an average (as far as sex drive, ambition-not appearance) would pay to have plastic surgery if he were very unattractive. In the example you posted, I'd say the results, assuming no complications, would be worth at least $50,000-$100,000 considering the improvement in quality of life for the individual, at least in the West.

I think plastic surgery is probably better improvement advise than most of the standard “dress better, get a haircut, lift” advise. If you don’t do these obvious aforementioned things already, you are a lost cause.

I would argue that plastic surgery is probably most worth it for a person (both men and women) if they are at least average to above average looking. A lot of attractive people who are in the business of being beautiful, use it exactly that way: to improve on small/moderate flaws.

Otherwise it is probably very invasive and extremely expensive.

I think if you have a glaring flaw that's really holding you back, then yes absolutely get plastic surgery.

Not quite the same in that it's not surgery, but I have really bad natural teeth. I got veneers when I was 18 and it was the best decision I ever, ever made. I cannot tell you how good it feels to have a flaw that you've felt terrible about for your entire life, then look in the mirror and suddenly not see that flaw anymore. It's awesome. Don't listen to moralizers who clutch their pearls about it being "unnatural" or "artificial." Haircuts aren't natural either. Who the fuck cares.

That said, going overboard with plastic surgery can put you in a weird uncanny valley territory. Focus on one or two major flaws you want to fix. Don't go into it with a plan to reconstruct your entire face.

I'm all for augmentation but I don't know how healthy this idea is. I'm treated like an attractive person, but I was treated like garbage before too and I looked exactly like this.

There's an undeniable psychological aspect to attraction that you can't just skirt around. You might fuck yourself if you start artificially changing yourself before you understand yourself.

That's really a personal decision. Because it's not a magi bullet. Nothing is. It boils down to if you want to drop thousands of dollars on the chance it might improve things. With the real possibility that it won't.

Me? I'd take the less expensive route first.

I wouldn't have any problem with a friend who did this. Sure, they spent a million dollars on plastic surgery but they feel good. I'd be happy for them. I'm a cheapass so I wouldn't do the surgery thing. But dieting and working out is fine with me as well as working on my game, which is argueably more important than good looks overall.

For the majority of men working on getting lean, muscular, well dressed and well groomed is a much better way to become more attractive. After you do all those things if you still want plastic surgery then consider it.

other than that I would not advice anyone to get plastic surgery. don't do something you might regret 10 years from now because I don't believe plastic surgery ages well. You can hit the gym and get swole and lose it back to neutral state in a year, but I don't think you can easily undo plastic surgery.

If they think the money and risks are worth the potential results then they should definitely go for it. However, they should also realize that plastic surgery isn't necessarily going to solve their self-esteem issues, so until they take care of that it might not make that much of a difference.

I dont see why not, if you go to a competent doctor and you can afford it. Some subtle changes can do wonders for a person's face. But I think it's sad that people feel the need to change/remove ethnic features to be attractive in society's eyes... My mom's parents made her and all her siblings get their big Jewish noses done, and although I don't think she cares that much anymore, I know it was a bit of a sore point in their relationship for a while.

the vast majority of unattractive people are just overweight or sloppy. not everyone is going to be a supermodel but with some effort put into grooming and fitness there are very few people who couldn't be at least average.

Sure, I think plastic surgery is a good plan if you have a feature that hardly anybody thinks is attractive, for men or for women. I don't see how it's different than hair transplant surgery, which men have gotten for a while.

What bothers me is an enhancement that I think is unneeded (think breasts, butt, lips on women) and makes the person look obviously fake. Some nose jobs fall into this category, as well. But with some surgeries, a fake look is almost definitely preferable compared to the real flaw that existed before, so I don't see a problem with fixing issues like that.
