PLEASE check out the childfree subreddit sidebar. They have an entire verified list of doctors that will do these procedures by state (and I believe country).

God, this comment is perfectly spot on. Exactly my thoughts but articulated in an excellent way. They really never think about/care about how what they do affects other women. I work with an awful man whose addicted to camgirls (we know from his twitter account, which has his full name), and he treats all the women at work (including minors) as pieces of meat. Constant sexual harassment, but not enough to warrant getting fired. He’s admitted to writing erotica about specific girls at work. These…

Can I just say looking up “women” in that sub is incredibly disheartening and gross? Most of what showed were very sexist, perverted views. I never browse that sub normally, and I don’t think I ever will.

Yikes, never even thought to do this. Quick check for my area and it seems like there’s someone on the registry that regularly comes into my place of work. Also a man who lived in my ex’s building (where I’d be near constantly when we dated). It’s really scary that men like this are out there, just walking free. Some of the charges I read for some of them (in my town) were just horrific.

-Paid for entire vacations, only for him to complain about how we “fought” the entire time. The “fighting” was about his alcoholism, mostly me trying to avoid him making an ass of himself or passing out before 7 PM. -Lent so much money to the same guy, only for him to blow it on drugs. He claimed it was for his incredibly important medication (that he did need and take), and I sympathized, but later found out the truth. He would spend the money on crack instead of diabetic or seizure related med…

I find pet names incredibly creepy and weird unless they’ve developed naturally, but this may just be me. It just seems like in the beginning it’s forcing artificial intimacy.

I feel the same way, and I’m totally confused when others say that. Why would you be attracted to other people when you’re in a relationship? I just assume they’re not actually happy/attracted to the person they’re with. I’ve told others that say this that I only am attracted to my BF and feel no attraction towards other men, and they look at me like I have 10 heads. I genuinely feel no attraction to anyone but him, so I really don’t understand this line of thinking.

Seriously, he just made it abundantly clear that he isn’t interested enough in his wife. Why not just save him the uphill battle and give him the single status he obviously wants so he can go and start his life with his true “dream girl”? Oh wait, probably because the instructor would have nothing to do with him outside of a paid class she’s teaching.

And he had the audacity to mention that he thought it was fine because she ALREADY KNEW HE WAS ATTRACTED TO HER! I can’t imagine my boyfriend going on about how attracted he is to another woman he interacts with often and just putting up with that. This is probably something that’s been digging at her to begin with!

There are plenty of men who don’t watch porn, and I feel that number may be growing. Perhaps I’m biased because of the media I follow, but it definitely seems like the word is spreading about how harmful porn is to relationships and to individuals, along with how harmful it is to those involved in the production of it.

I never trust anything online. People put their best moments on online because nobody wants to air their dirty laundry to all their friends, family, or followers. Seeing these stories IRL mean so much more than a performance played out and edited to look good.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy11/07/20 04:38 PM

They mostly just prey on younger women who don’t know any better yet, especially teenagers. I’ve worked in a couple “mixed-age” type workplaces where you have people working who are in their teens (16ish) to very old people, and the amount of times I’ve watched this nonsense play out is ridiculous.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy11/07/20 04:33 PM

I don’t know who this is, but I do know that sometimes it’s their agents/people who manage them that edit like this. Sometimes the actual celeb has no input, which makes it 1000x worse. Imagine thinking you look great and then being forced to see yourself edited into the “more perfect” you.

I really don’t understand how or why it could be considered empowering. Maybe to feel sexual freedom? I try to wrap my head around it and I can’t. There’s nothing empowering about selling your body/sex.

I’ve stopped being friends with men over this. It just seems like they want someone to act as a therapist for them, so they talk over you completely. And then of course after all the whining about how their life sucks, they try to “seduce” you. How about no, I’d rather read a good book.

This, plus validation + attention you’ve been starved of. That’s exactly what it is. When I wanted mindless sex or similar, I was at my lowest points and working through issues. I would feel neglected by my friends and family, therefore I would seek the quickest attention possible. I think young women also feel expected to do this stuff as “empowerment”, which is an absolute train wreck of a subject I won’t get into.

Or if it was a woman who doesn’t care for material items, it could be a nice dinner, or a trip to a spa! The thought and kindness is what truly counts in a HVM. A HVM can listen to you and understand what matters to you and what would make you happy!

I have no issue with guys spending time together, my boyfriend goes camping/hiking with his male friends all the time. Bachelor parties and tourist trips are however, not OK. Strip clubs are obviously not OK. The idea of those sort of things skeeves me out to no end. ETA: I know my boyfriend is actually fishing/camping/hiking/shooting. He always sends me pics of the place without me asking, and the trips only last a weekend or a day. He also has told me a million times that he finds strip clubs …

Honestly, you can only keep someone if they want to keep you. People can be incompatible, you have to remember that, and even if you’re both HV it doesn’t mean it’ll necessarily work out. That’s just how dating works. Living in fear that hes going to leave you when he shows no signs of that is more detrimental to yourself than any slip in your behavior would.

-Mental health in general and abusive relationships. I vaguely remember learning about physical abuse in a HS health class, but it was very minor and didn’t touch upon much other than hitting/breaking things. Young people need to learn that abuse can be emotional, sexual, and financial and that all of it is NOT OK. Mental health teaching would open up conversations about getting help before it’s too late, valuing yourself, and not subjecting yourself to this abuse because you aren’t well mentall…

Interesting how she brings “maturity” into it in the reply. It’s immature to not assume all men are sex-crazed animals, and to not want to have sex every five seconds? I’m sure she’ll think it’s immature to get upset about pornography and texting other girls too.

I used to dress sloppy + wear a full face simply because I enjoyed doing the makeup but didn’t want to overdress in combination with it, or because I didn’t actually want to put in effort for my clothes. I don’t really do this anymore, but it’s understandable why women do.

When my ex’s drug addiction and alcoholism got out of control I absolutely broke down in front of my parents, sobbing hysterically because I felt so upset and helpless. I guess when I said “shoved down our throats” I really meant availability/ease of access. Specifically with how often young kids are exposed to it. I think you make a great point on the libfem stance on sex work/porn. Especially since many people (usually women) speaking out against it are considered to be shaming those who watch porn or sex workers themselves, or are sex-negative. It seems like those who are pro-porn don’t want to even open up the conversation, they just want to stick their fin…

You can be incompatible with HVM. Them being HVM doesn’t necessarily mean they’re right for you. Don’t stay in a relationship if you feel like you’re “settling”, even if what puts you off is fairly insignificant in the grand scheme. Life’s too short to be with someone you’re not 100% about.

We need to normalize women having body hair. It’s fine if you want to shave, I do it, but nobody should feel ashamed of having hair where it naturally grows. BTW, I have super dark and thick body hair too. I’ve gone out unshaved and no one has ever made any comments.

It’s an absolute lack of self-reflection as well. The strange thing is, I’ve spent a lot of time around drug addicts/alcoholics and this attitude isn’t nearly as prevalent. Perhaps it’s just the people I’ve met, but typically these addicts can realize their problem is within themselves. Porn addicts act like it’s never their fault they’re addicted. I guess I can see it from the view that porn culture is shoved down our throats and it’s so normalized it doesn’t even read as addiction, whereas dru…

I just walk away/don’t respond. It’s not worth getting involved or responding because that never means no for these guys. I just act completely disinterested. Very rarely has a man come back to bother me when I’m consistently ignoring him, though I know that’s not a universal strategy. The last resort would be to act off your rocker, because they don’t want to deal with crazy.

I think it’s real stupid for these people to compare watching porn to playing video games. They act like it’s in the same realm, when it isn’t even close. What’s next? “It’s okay for your BF to message girls on tinder”? “It’s okay for your BF to go home with women from the bar and have a ONS”? I mean, he is his own person after all, and you simply have to allow it otherwise you’re controlling! (/s)

Unfortunately the unsupportive partner trope is all too common when it comes to breast reduction/mastectomies. Even when the breasts need to be removed to stop the spread of cancer/rid the body of cancer there are men who only care about not being able to play with bOoBieS anymore. I suppose being able to play with/look at breasts is far more important than your partners chance of survival/recovery (/s, in case it wasn’t obvious).

This is so important, and honestly one of the major reasons I consider my boyfriend a HVM. This behavior doesn’t just happen during sex, it carries on through the rest of the relationship, but it’s incredibly important during sex. If a man sees you’re uncomfortable/in pain during sex and can still go on with it, he just doesn’t care about you as a person.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy24/06/20 05:51 PM

This for me is personally not an issue. I may have a different opinion as others due to past experience though. My HVM boyfriend does smoke weed and it doesn’t bother me at all because it doesn’t take over his life, I view it in the same way as casually drinking. I think it’s normal to have friends that do drugs and not partake in them at all. I would only worry if you suspect he’s doing them and you aren’t looking to be with someone that doesn’t.

I think the fact that he brought it up in this situation is a good indicator he’s telling the truth. Obviously you can’t be certain, but also being vegan indicates he sticks with what he stands for. My boyfriend opened up to me and said he has no interest in porn, not because of the horrors of it (which he really wasn’t aware of), but just because he found it creepy and weird. It’s the same concept as paying for porn subscriptions or DVDs to me. Not only is it gross pornsick behavior, it’s also financially no good. If a man really cares about “woman-owned businesses”, he’ll spend money on businesses that don’t have to do with sex/his own sexual pleasure owned by women.

For the record, I would like to get married to my boyfriend in the future. I’m not against marriage if both partners are on board and the relationship is healthy. I think many women are realizing they don’t need marriage anymore simply because they can support themselves. Realistically, if a man cares about you enough then they’re attracted to the “real you”. The unshaven, no-makeup, unflattering clothes, “you”. True attraction means being attracted even if your partner is sick, gains/loses a little weight, has a bad skin day. Attraction also doesn’t have to be purely sexual, you can be attracted to personality, sense of humor, their hobbies/passions. They’re pissed off that women are coming together and talking about this behavior, rather than passively allowing it to continue. They want women to be silent and subservient, which we aren’t. Discovering likeminded women is incredibly empowering, and spreading the word through subs like this is very important, especially to younger, more impressionable girls. The anger from these men at least proves that we’re making a difference, and changing the conversation.

First of all, I’m really sorry you had to go through this. It’s absolutely terrible. You should definitely let him know somehow why you’re leaving, and make it clear you’re done. Do not accept pleading, or guilting, or excuses. I’ve found in my past, especially with cheaters, trying to air my grievances and obtain closure is nearly impossible through a single conversation. Maybe a nice cheap date? A road trip somewhere local, a park picnic, a movie night in. You even see couples who do little jars filled with their favorite things about each other or memorable moments in the relationship. Oddly enough, even in the most toxic relationships I’ve been in, the men I was with didn’t give two fucks about my body hair being shaved. I’ve only ever really experienced hangups when it came to pubic hair and oral sex, but that was one guy and he just didn’t want to give oral regardless of if I shaved or not, just used it as an excuse.

I personally shave my armpits just because it’s more comfortable for me, likewise with legs. I just don’t like having leg hair, unless it’s very cold out and I’m only wearing pants. For pubic hair, I trim, but that’s because of (yikes warning) it grows out way too much if I don’t, which gets caught or tangled in certain underwear or menstrual products. Fully shaved pubic hair is equally uncomfortable, itchy, etc. I have body hair elsewhere but it grows in much softer and doesn’t make me uncomfor…

I’m sure there are women who genuinely prefer tall guys for whatever reason, but I agree with you. I’ve always found tall men to be pretty intimidating as well, since I’m pretty short and I don’t like being towered over. I’d rather be closer in height because I feel more equal to my partner, rather than feeling like a child in comparison.

I think it’s also telling that the reverse isn’t popular at all. It’s expected that a woman is interested in being choked, slapped, hit, but it’s really uncommon to hear men are interested in it as well. Why is it constantly women on the receiving end? Why is it women that are “turned on” by this and not men? If it was “so common” wouldn’t there be more examples of male “subs”? I’m aware there are men who get off on receiving it, but it’s so uncommon/rare compared to the other way.

You can definitely go on “lockdown appropriate” dates. Parks are open, beaches are open, ice cream stands are open, hell even take out/fast food places are open. Could even do a drive-in movie if you have them around you. Just sounds like he wants to be lazy. edit: parks/beaches are open where I am. I don’t know if they’re open everywhere, but I’m pretty sure most places have open take out.

Im child free for a number of reasons. I don’t like kids, I don’t like taking care of living creatures (can’t even keep a damn plant alive smh), and I like money and freedom. I’ve never been interested in having kids, even when I was a child I had no interest in “playing mommy” with dolls or anything like that.

Yes! Near constantly! Sometimes when they’re alone and sometimes when she’s standing right there. The worst I’ve seen was this guy who shouted to another customer “I should’ve married you instead of my wife!” because she let him go ahead of her in line.

I think I would leave the second those words came out. What a gross comment to make to someone you barely know.

I think mental illness in general is an okay “flaw”. As long as they don’t take it out on/use it against their partners or family/friends, I think this is perfectly fine. Being willing to change and get help is important. I think it’s ok because so many people struggle with mental illness, and I personally think it’s unfair to discount an entire person because they suffer from depression or anxiety.

It is not worth trying to date/dating someone that needs fixing. You just end up exhausted and neglecting your own needs.

Yes! It’s absolutely life-changing, although this list should be basic relationship “etiquette” or however you’d like to describe it. Unfortunately it’s not nearly as common as it should be.

-You can talk through tough subjects without fighting or stewing afterwards. You both listen to each other and remember that information in the future to better the relationship. -Your interests/hobbies are respected, and your partner encourages you within them. -They help you when you’re feeling bad, and vice versa, without holding it over your head or making it about them. -They remember what you enjoy, your preferences, and use them in the future. Ex: They remember your favorite candy and get…

I’ve never had luck on dating apps when I was dating, I’ve actually had TERRIBLE luck. Bad dates or endless conversations that led to nothing. It’s a low effort way to start a relationship. I feel like connecting with people IRL organically like you said) is just so much easier and a more realistic way to form a relationship. You know the person better, you know their mannerisms and how they act IRL, and you can spot red flags better. None of my friends have ever had any luck with OLD, it’s alwa…

I honestly brought it up on the third or fourth date with my BF of a year. I explained my thoughts on it and how it was incredibly harmful and destroyed a past relationship (my ex was incredibly addicted to porn), and how it affected the way I felt towards sex in general. He was upfront and said he wasn’t a porn guy, didn’t like it, and now we have regular casual discussions about how bad it is, like he’ll show me news stories relating to it and how it makes him sick. I feel like I got pretty lu…
