How old are you? I’ve been working for half of my life (I’m 34). Yes, the workplace sucks.

Sounds really annoying. Sorry.

Sounds like a toxic workplace. Keep networking/applying/looking for other opportunities and just keep your head down in the meantime. You’ll get through it.

Office politics are real and insidious. Unfortunately, being able to navigate the complex web of bullshit is often just as important in the work setting as being able to handle your business, if not more so. I understand your not wanting to deal with unsavory characters, but you still have to play nice and be a team player (or at least act like one) if you want to keep the job.

The 48 Laws of Power by Robert Greene is a great place to start in terms of strategy. (Which, of course, can be applied to all facets of life.)

Wow, beer and a chance to make out with him!? What a prince. Lol. Hard pass.

I’ve never had a problem being courted by men who pay, hold doors, initiate communication, maintain consistency, and move the relationship forward. Whether every other box is checked is another conversation! Lol. But - point being - it is certainly possible to be treated like a Queen. 👑

Like hell they don’t. I am in my early thirties and (genuinely, actually) get carded regularly - thanks melanin! I went on a date with a guy my age and his hairline was leaning all the way back, he was skinny fat, and his face was full of lines. Men are delusional if they think they look fine forever. Even my zaddy Brad Pitt doesn’t look the way he did at 25 - and he’s a one-of-a-kind specimen. For run of the mill dudes - tuh!

It sucks when you like someone and they like you, too - but not as much as you like them. Develop an inner sense and knowing of self-worth, engage in activities that make you feel good, and remember that your value is not determined by others. Ever. At all.

This is just me - based on admittedly limited experience - but I am anti-dating apps. It’s conditioning men to expect something (sex, attention) for nothing (two dollar coffee dates). It takes effort, but I would suggest increasing your social engagements with friends, going to community events, going to singles bars, coffee shops, taking classes, volunteering. Essentially, showing up more in the world and using your existing social network to increase your visibility and the likelihood of meeti…

It just sucks. You gotta sit with the suck. Later, it will suck less. Then a thought of him will cross your mind and you’ll realize you hadn’t been thinking about him. Then you’ll forget about him. For real.

It’s lack of self-esteem, lack of self-worth, lack of self-love, lack of self-awareness. It’s internalized misogyny born of being a woman in an infinitely patriarchal world. I can’t blame them - in many ways, being male-aligned can make life easier. This is not a mistake. It takes years of work to undo conditioning that makes women question their worth and the worth of their sistren. It takes consistent effort to show up unapologetically, to take up space, to say no, to choose differently, to cr…

I’ve been watching her for a minute (she also does videos on magick for those so inclined) and her advice is truly priceless. When I first learned of this sub I was like “that’s SheRaSeven all the way.”

If a guy says, “how about drinks?” You can come back with - “sure, I’d love to, after dinner at X restaurant. It just opened in Y neighborhood, the reviews are incredible.” You can make your wishes known in a way that adds to the interaction. If he’s like “uhhhh...” then ofc delete.

I am not on social media like that lol - I literally have just my profile picture on FB (which I’m never on) and artistic shots on IG. So for me - never. But for those more active on social media, I’d say whenever you become exclusive.

A sense of inner peace is key, and it can’t be manufactured, bought, or forced. Healing is not linear, and I’m sure you have a lot to unpack given your history of having been abused. I would suggest, in no particular order: talk therapy, shadow work, yoga and other energetic/spiritual practices, prayer, meditation, journaling, and discovering unique ways to integrate self-care into your life. Hugs.

Patterns (not solitary actions) speak louder than words. If you want d*** but aren’t worried about a LTR, by all means, hop on. But if you want a dude to invest, you have to make him wait. These are big facts.

I have a daughter, and despite her father and I having divorced, he does have HVM characteristics that I want her to know. Namely, he considers it his responsibility to provide for his spouse and family. He always holds doors, buy flowers, and pay for dates. Seeing this modeled I think will be powerful in terms of what she seeks in her future partners.

That is beautiful. HVM for the win. Also, am so glad to see them demonstrating to a young boy that emotional expression is good.

I experienced emotional abuse, and it’s awful because there are no bruises. That book was helpful in my recognizing that hey, I’m not crazy, and was a catalyst in getting me out of the situation. Side note: there is an incredible dearth of meaningful resources for those seeking to escape abusive situations. It’s pathetic, actually. However, you’ve got to do it for yourself.

I used to watch porn regularly, and it realllly messed up my view of sexuality. It detracted from my ability to be openly and honestly sexual. I enjoy sex so much more now that porn is not a part of my life.

It’s immature IMO to be checking for your lover’s body count. See how they conduct themselves over time. If they’re a hoe, you’ll know.

I had a ONS try to tell me he didn’t have anything. I’m like “bro, I could still get pregnant.” He walked his drunk ass to the 7-11. But if I hadn’t insisted he totally would have done it without a condom. Crazy.

I don’t know. He doesn’t have to go on and on about it but I love meeting a guy who likes giving head, and they’ll usually mention it at some point. I’d rather get no head than duty head - ugh!
