So what are women supposed to do about it if the problem is with men? Take your arms up with those violent men, not feminists fighting for liberation of women and who want that liberation to be women centered

Absolutely words matter, but why bludgeon to death a term which has a changing and now controversial meaning. It’s counterproductive to the discussions happening here. This is the misguided divisiveness I was talking about. It is true feminists want to “overthrow” the patriarchy but you’re wrong in thinking that means female supremacy. It means getting rid of the societal notions that restrict male and female into boxes. I see no problem with the term feminism because this has been my experience…

It’s simple, women historically have been the oppressed and the men oppressors. I get discouraged when I see this narrative floating around as it adds to the divisiveness of feminism and men’s rights. Language is complex and changes overtime. The first instance of the term feminism was in the 1850s by a French philosopher. The term feminist was in the Oxford dictionary before the term feminism.
