Agree. I think people have been so indoctrinated to only care about violence or abuse if there is a gender disparity. This has been social conditioning to cause people to neglect the majority of violence which is perpetrated against men, and ignore male victims of abuse, but to only really care about the (proportionally smaller) female victims of violence.

Imagine someone came running up to me and said they had been mugged. If the first thing I ask is "oh no, are you alright?" or even "how much did they take?" then you know my first priority is caring for the victim. It also invalidates the reality that women still do often abuse and harm men, where it is quickly downplayed, ignored or dismissed, and unreported. It also invalidates the reality that when women seek to abuse/harm men, they not only have other venues available to them that are easier or subtler then brute force but can also outsource that violence to other men. This can take many form, from encouraging other vulnerable/gullible men to cause harm for her(either believing to be in her defense or in exchange for sex/approval) to employing legal, judicial and government systems into causing harm in her interest.

It's also invalidating the reality that most women are, on average, physically weaker(in domestic violence cases, this is something that women control by exclusively dating men considerably bigger than they are) and, on average, far less capable and competent when it comes to violence(very few women actually train to fight or be physically competent), and that, if this wasn't the case, there is literally nothing that indicates that women would be just as violent or aggressive. If not considerably more so given how much they can get away with.

It also invalidates the reality that most men are typically in a far worst off position in life than women, especially when it comes to social acceptance and romantic/sexual opportunities, or that there is a far bigger pressure on men, by women, to be assertive, aggressive and earning money. All of these factors can effectively manifest themselves into a higher rate of violence from men.

I was at a party in Stockholm, Sweden once. Had a lengthy discussion with a very pronounced feminist (who was also a lesbian & white) on men committing acts of violence & the number of men in prisons in the world. N.B.: I had met her before & she was a PhD candidate. She was writing her dissertation on something connected to the topic being discussed, had been doing so & researching it for some time, & was know to repeat-quote the same antiquated statistics that she took for truth. I had personally experienced these repetitions.

The conversation essentially went that men are far more dangerous than women & the proof is in the statistics; & that, as per the statistics, black men are the most dangerous of all men.

I asked her whether she felt threatened just standing here talking to me, a man. She said no. I asked her whether prisons were filled only with men. She said no. I asked her whether she was aware of any statistics that indicated why so many men were in prison as opposed to how many were in prison. Her blind answer was no but that men were the more dangerous gender which is WHY they're in prison. So I asked her for empirical data exhibiting the reasons that men were in prison. She had none. I then told her that any empirical data should include women to be fair & this was perhaps something that should be included in her research & dissertation if she were to be taken seriously. I asked her whether she visited a prison or jail anywhere in the world to understand, further, what she's studying. She said no.

I told her to group the crimes of both men & women in one part of one country & understand the social dynamics that led to those crimes by those genders instead of quoting archaic & generalized statistics written by white men about black men, in the white man's effort to protect supposed white women's purity. Write about that, I said. I also told her not to generalize as reasons for one crime in one country might play no role in another & hence has no bearing on gender.

I told her that to say that the sky is blue is easy but to prove that the sky is blue is is the beautiful pursuit worthy of the dedication & time involved in writing a dissertation in the endeavor to earn a PhD.

She began to cry!

She wasn't crying because it was a moment of enlightenment! She was crying because a man, who knew nothing in depth about her field, pointed out the flaws in something she'd been researching & writing for 3-4 years through pure logic. Needless to say, she blamed the wine for her tears!

Oh but I wasn't done! I, a man, hugged her & let her cry it out. Then I explained to her that archived works by PhD holders can be quoted & taken for truth. Words are such beautiful things but they carry responsibility & cannot be taken lightly. The Nazis & other racists in history had highly educated scientists in their group who penned hateful doctrines in their works which were taken for truth by many. People suffered & died as a result. I told her that the pen is now in her hand, that it carried far more power than any degree ever did, & that for a great mind a pen could only be wielded in one way - carefully.

I told her to pursue the why the sky was blue (i.e.: the effect) & that in doing so she would uncover a greater truth (i.e.: the true cause/s).
