I’m sorry! I hope I didn’t offend you. I meant this more towards someone who refuses to get help or try to improve his condition. He yelled at me a lot and it is still something I am trying to forget

He didn't change. Granted he dumped me because he was manic bipolar and was going through a manic episode I just dated someone who was manic bipolar. Worst experience of my life

One of my ex’s recently proposed to his gf with no ring. Is that even a thing? They got married in a local park, no ring still. I don’t get it

Because their parents support them being bums. I have a friend who graduated from a university and has been sitting at home working on his hobbies for the past two years. The funniest part is he broke up with his long term girlfriend, who’s full time employed, and she was so devastated she went to seek therapy. Sadly they are back together now. 7 years and still no ring

I know a couple who has been dating 13 years, as of yesterday. They had a child together last year..still no ring. When I ask him about it, he jokily says, she wouldnt want to marry someone like me. I was hoping maybe the baby would push him towards marriage but still no proposal

You can’t change their way of thinking. The best thing you can do is prove them wrong.

It is just me or do the LVM have more self confidence than the HVM? They seem to take more risks and ask anyone and everyone out with 0 fear of rejection There's this guy that always texts me at 3-5am Saturday morning. He gets high on coke all weekend and is unable to sleep. He has no job, lives with his dad, and sleeps on my friend's couch every weekend because he lives about 20 miles away from all his friends. Aside from the coke, drinking and partying are his main hobbies. He texted me for th…

Growing up in a very violent home between my dad and my mom, it wasn’t about hating women. It was about control and fear. He wouldn’t beat up his male friends bc he’d get his ass kicked. Picking on a smaller, weaker woman is easier than fighting a man.

Tell me about it. Not to mention the tobacco candle he burns nightly. Lucky for me, he works 16 hour days, 4xs a week and is never home

I have a male roommate and I’m shocked at how gross he is. He’ll go days without showering and hasn’t washed his sheets since we moved in mid January. Yesterday he had a girl over for the first time. He took a shower prior to their date. She had no idea he hadn’t showered in two days. She slept over and I felt so bad for her being in that dirty smelly room. No surprise, she ended up leaving around 2am. I’ll be shocked if I see her return.

Not to go against what you’re saying but in rare occasions this isn’t the case. My friend got in a bad mountain biking accident where the handle of his bike hit his private area. It took awhile to heal and when it did, he was left with scar tissue and he is very self conscious about it. Although it’s not attractive, I wouldn’t automatically run if I saw this

After living with an ex for 8 years and my next bf for 1.5 years, I am so over living with men. High value or not. I love having my privacy and somewhere to go after an argument. I don’t plan on moving in with any man until he at least proposes.

Yeah, I feel like past trauma with the cheating ex’s has made me always get a funny feeling whenever someone does this. Even if it’s for good intentions.

I wonder if he was cheating on you and that’s why he wouldn’t have sex with you That’s the only time I saw ex bfs become mean and withdrawn. They had someone on the side and was hoping that by being distant, I would eventually breakup and leave

I agree with the cell phone face down but it is not always a red flag. Some of my friends and my bf will do this if we are out for lunch and they dont want to get distracted by phone alerts. I have also had cheating ex’s who did this bc they didn’t want me to see their text messages. I think it can go either way

My dad. I remember him always breaking dishes and my mom having to clean up the mess. Not to mention all the physical abuse that also happened. Thankfully it taught me to never date a man like him

. Someone who insists on 50/50 is keeping a mental balance sheet and always has one foot out the door. Marry someone who puts 100% into the relationship, who thinks of marriage as a team effort. When both partners put 100% in, each will get 100% back. LOL so true

My friend just bought a house with his gf of a year, who he has never lived with. I didn’t want to be that friend to get involved and lecture at him but gosh, this is probably the stupidest thing anyone can do. Like what is the rush? Can’t you just rent a place first?

:/ I cut my parents out of my life and I sometimes wonder how my future boyfriend and his family will take it. My mom has threatened to sue me constantly and has been throwing “youre dead to me” since I was in elementary school. My dad denies how abusive he was during my childhood, says my mom brainwashed me and it’s not true. Not everyone has a perfect family and I wouldn’t take a boyfriend speaking ill of them as a red flag

I dated a guy with a kid when I was 19. Worst mistake ever. His kids mom was crazy and constantly threatened to attack me. Meanwhile, he was sleeping with both of us. Oh to be young and stupid

Don’t be a therapist in general. My best friend, who’s male, started calling me several times a day to complain about his day. I finally put a stop to it last week. He freaked out. I told him I’m busy with work. I feel a lot more at peace. Funny thing is he sees a therapist. I guess he should see him more than once a week. It feels really good to set boundaries and stick by them.

Omg yes. My ex was the biggest liar and he always emphasized how he’s being honest when I would call him out. Of course I was “just being paranoid as usual.” When I finally did have proof and dumped him, he admitted to that lie but continued to swear that he only lied to me that one time. Always trust your gut

This was my ex. He made a lot more and never paid for me. Now he’s dating someone new and it’s funny that his Venmo activity showed up on my feed. It’s just them going back and forth reimbursing each other for meals. I’m so happy I got away from that

My friend (who’s been single for over ten years) said last night, “it matters how much someone makes because I wouldn’t want to feel obligated to provide for someone.” Overall he’s just a mess. Very materialistic and judges everyone on what they possess, but yet still lives with mommy and daddy. And yes, going on a previous post, also has a mattress on the floor

This happened to me earlier this year. This guy has been perusing me for over two years. I was bored and finally said, okay let’s go on a day date. The entire time he’s bragging about how much money he makes and the thousands he has invested in oil stocks (huge turn off). What was surprising was when we grabbed lunch, mine being only $12, he didn’t even offer to pay. I’ve ghosted him since. If you can’t drop $12 on a first date that says a lot

The secretly gay thing is still happening. My best friend is gay and tells me stories all the time about married men hooking up with other men on the side. Supposedly Disneyland is a hot spot because while their family is off in the theme park, they’re busy bringing over guys to their room

I would say only reach out if he was cheating on her with you. If he’s a bad person, she will see that eventually. If you reach out now, he’ll probably say you are crazy and making it all up. I say leave it alone

My 31 year old ex did this all the time. “Must be because I’m an only child why I don’t ever want to share my apartment with you.” Yes, that’s exactly what you are, a child.

I dated a guy in NA and AA. I know, I’m so stupid but I guess I had to learn the hard way. I felt like he was lying all the time but every time I called him out, he would say, “how could you accuse me of lying?? I took an honesty oath in my program.” I fell for it all the time. Until his lies didn’t start to add up or he would get the details mixed up with previous statements. But again, I was overreacting. Lesson here is to never date an addict, even if they are in the process of recovering. Ly…

I just broke it off with my LVM last night. He sent me a screen shot of our conversation, forgetting that he changed my name to a male name. When I confronted him about it, he went in circles and nothing made sense. Then he tried turning it around on me. What an idiot. Goodbye, next!
