If you have even half-decent social skills and judgement, you'll know which ones to avoid. I think those connections are made best when they're organic and unforced ie through a club, sport, similar interest. I guess it doesn't necessarily have to be a last resort, but I definitely would try other methods first.

Honestly, don't knock Bumble BFF. They have their standard setting where you swipe for dating, but you can change it to looking friends.
