Child SupportProbably not a ton compared to what some people pay. Considering we have custody 3 days a week it seems excessive to me. I wasn't really trying to get into the specifics of our situation. It was just an idea for reform and I was interested in people's opinions. Seems like there are a lot of issues with the current system. I think your points are valid... perhaps the issues are just with the rules and the way they are set and not the distribution. | /r/MensRights | 16/11/14 12:56 AM
Child SupportIf I didn't have children I doubt I would know much about the child support sytem | /r/MensRights | 14/11/14 09:49 PM
Child SupportI also have a problem with my child's biological father who decided to dip out when she was 1 and never paid child support. But, I don't know why it would be surprising that it is easier to see the injustice in the system when you are part of a step-family situation and able to see both sides of it. Paying it to another woman... as opposed to my husband paying it to someone else? | /r/MensRights | 14/11/14 09:48 PM
Child SupportI think a lot of the people here seem to think that it shouldn't be based on income. Im trying to think of a middle of the road solution... something where the custodial and noncustodial parents don't get constantly screwed. I think many people would say that it should be the fotune 500 ceos choice to pay more for the child | /r/MensRights | 14/11/14 09:42 PM
Child SupportOk, yeah I can agree with that. There should definitely be a cap. We all know it doesn't cost a million a month to raise a kid. I honestly didn't know the court takes a cut. My husband pays directly to his ex. Can't say it is too surprising that they take a cut. Not sure how you will enforce child support going directly to the child's needs. I guess a separate bank account and transactions can only be used at specific places. Or maybe just an account where both parents can see all the transactio… | /r/MensRights | 14/11/14 09:21 PM
Child SupportAh gotcha. That is what my parents did when they divorced 20ish years ago. I think that would be ideal for a 50/50 split where both parents are working and both want to be equal parents. That is not every situation, and with no child support... what happens if a parent takes off completely? | /r/MensRights | 14/11/14 09:15 PM
Child Supportthe court system should definitely be changed too. Are you saying changed to not involve child support at all? | /r/MensRights | 14/11/14 08:55 PM
Ideas for Child Support System ReformIn my state it is based on both parents combined income, not just the non-custodial parent. | /r/MensRights | 14/11/14 08:08 PM
