Ok, so I am not anti-child support... but I see the need for reform. My husband pays a ton in support each month to a woman with no job and now 5 kids by 3 different dads. Anyway... I haven't read through all the posts to see if this has been suggested. What about a system where all parents pay into a child support bank and then child support is distributed from there? So something like ANY biological parent pays 10% of their income into this bank. Then whenever childsupport is awarded (to one or both parents) it is based on need and not on specific income necessarily. That way individual parents would not be screwed over by dead beat exes and people who choose not to work don't get to live off child support payments. You could say this would be almost like a child tax and refund system... but I'm not trying to get into a debate on taxes.
