I think you're completely wrong.. Alpha in the sense we talk about today is the modern manifestation of survival of the fittest/natural selection. In hunter gatherer times people exhibiting more beta traits would be the ones who didn't survive. the point is having kids at 40 you're going to be 60 when your offspring are only 20.. plus you have to find a younger woman who wants to have your kids fair play if you can do that rock on.
