The reason why most American women are not marry-able is because of the odds that she may have come from a broken home. The cycle repeats itself. A single mother who bears the child of a man who she can't keep, raises a daughter with the same values, and she turns into the same woman as her mother - a woman who goes after men she can't hope to keep.

If one of us were to encounter these women at various stages in our lives, we should ideally know where we stand - as a provider or as a short term partner. Because essentially, you'd either be pumping and dumping them, or you'd be under the belief that you could somehow hope to tame them.
