Thanks to the forces of the universe converging to make my life hell, Monday’s post is as of this writing (Sunday afternoon) only half done and won’t be finished in time for my self-imposed deadline. However, in order to keep up the flow of posting and discussion, I’m trying out something new: penning a teaser post to whet your appetite for the real thing. I already did this, in a sense – my “House, niceness, and being a jerk” and “Misanthropy and game” posts from last month were intended to be one and the same, but life threw me a loop and I could only finish the first one in time. It worked well enough then, so now I’m doing it with intent.

To hint at the themes that will be explored in tomorrow’s post, I’m presenting two separate texts for your perusal. The first is my August entry, “How mainstream dating advice harms women“:

Men ascertain a woman’s sexual desirability through her looks. If she makes your penis hard, she’s a worthy conquest. This ensures that women who aren’t wildebeests and/or hippopotamuses will have an endless stream of dudes looking to bring their battering rams crashing through her iron gates of life, but it has a downside; a woman’s options for improving her sexual market value are limited. The reason a 20-year old co-ed can play the coy coquette and a 35-year old cougar has to force herself onto guys is because the former has qualities men desire (youth and beauty) that the latter doesn’t and can never get back. An unattractive woman who prances about like she’s a 10, like The Rules says that ladies should do, isn’t going to suddenly make men think that she is a 10 – they’ll just avoid her in favor of girls who are still on the same plane of reality. Men instinctively know the difference between fool’s gold and the real deal, and no games played by girls can convince them otherwise.

The second is taken from this Beta Revolution post, in which an observation of mine set off an interesting discussion:

Ferdinand Bardamu: I note in the video that the heifer claims the reason high school guys don’t date fatties is because of peer pressure. The solipsism of the female mind never ceases to amuse. It’s teenage girls, and only girls, who choose their boyfriends based on what their friends think. I’ve never gone after a girl based on any of my friends’ opinions, and neither has any other dude.

Hermes: Ferdinand, this tendency of females to impute female thought processes to males manifests itself in so many different ways, it’s so common, we ought to come up with a word for it.

FB (not me): I think most people call it “projection.”

Pro-Male/Anti-Feminist Tech: It is, but we should still have a special term for this like femprojection or something. It’s important for men to understand this since women so consistently do this and that they’re projecting their thought processes on to men. It also carries implicit assumptions that men are women with a penis (or should be) which as we all know is false.

Anonymous: I suggest gynopromorphism

Talleyrand: Gynopromorphism is beautiful. I am going to write a whole post on that word alone . . .

Hermes: Gynopomorphism is great. Just one nitpick; the word it’s a play on is not anthropRomorphism–there’s no r after that first p.

Prime: True, Hermes. It should be gynopomorphism. But for some reason gynoPROmorphism rolls off the tongue better, besides ANTHROPO- is the entire prefix, so we should take off the PO- anyway. So maybe we can tack on the extra prefix and make it GYNO- PRO- MORPHISM, which means roughly to ascribe female thought patterns to males for self-interested ends.

Anonymous: Fine then:

Skankopomorphism

Alkibiades: Y’all are sick…in a good way. Now I can’t get gynopromorphism out of my head. It just kind of rolls off the tongue.

Anonymous: Or Estropomorphism.

Even better.

See y’all tomorrow.
