After more than two weeks without a peep out of the Crimson Gamester, amid fears by his readership that the kibosh was put on him by an (unholy?) alliance of Lady Raine Ms. Denise Romano, Roissy did indeed return to his scribing duties today on his highly popular-and controversial-blogsite.

It would appear, that the reports of Roissy’s demise, have been at least somewhat exaggerated.

I never thought I’d be in the position to defend the Man, but politics does indeed make strange bedfellows; and the past few weeks have been in many ways, an eye opener for me.

Before anyone out there tries to get my words all twisted, let me say, for the umpteenth time: there are many things that I vociferously disagree with Roissy about, and I’ve directly confronted him about them long before I began my own blog. Indeed, his archives will clearly show evidence of this fact. I’ve disagreed with many of his racial views, his views toward at least some Women, and his approaches towards Game itself, among other things.

Having said all that, I do respect his knowledge of Game, largely informed by the Mystery Method, and have found some of his writings along these lines to be insightful. Moreover, he is a very talented writer and blogger.

But the past few weeks’ events have left me, to be quite frank, cold, and with a very bad taste in my mouth. I say that because of the way “the Roissy issue” was handled by Lady Raine and Ms. Romano-instead of seeking to engage Roissy like I and so many others have done, or, creating an alternative forum to express alternative ideas-again, like I’ve done here-they instead sought to have Roissy in DC, his blog, shutdown. Moreover, they also sought to have the Man himself arrested, fired from his job, and banished from polite society.

If today’s post by Roissy himself is any indication, the ladies have failed, on all counts.

And rightly so-for while I vehemently disagree with much of what the Man says, in the words of Voltaire, I will fight to the death for his right to say it. If Roissy was indeed run off the Internet by those who oppose him, it would not be a “victory” but indeed a loss-a huge one. It would mean that I and everyone who has a blog or is thinking of starting one can be in the crosshairs, too, for merely saying something that people like Lady Raine and Ms. Romano disagree with. Sure, the rationale surrounding seeking Roissy’s ouster sounds good: the apparent misogynistic commentary, the posting of purportedly underage girls on the site, and so on; but both these ladies have made it clear that their disagreements with Roissy extend far beyond his ruminations; indeed, both these ladies insist that the whole of the Seduction community itself should be done away with, for, in the words of Ms. Romano, “its inherently abusive” ways. This, I find to be akin to the “Red Scare” of the 1950s, lead by zealot Senator Joe McCarthy. One would think we would have learned something from those truly harrowing times. It appears, that once again my faith in Humanity’s better nature, might have been a bit misplaced, if not a bit premature.

In my recent Open Letter to Ms. Romano, I called into question not only her motives, but more importantly, her methodology in her “crusade” against the Game community; I noted the utter lack of academic rigor, and lamented the absence of even the most rudimentary investigation into the matter to which she seems hellbent on eradicating. I made clear then, and I maintain now, that the very fact that she proceeds in the way she does, defiles the very letters behind her name, and the institution that granted them to her. She makes a mockery of the Academy’s long history of protecting Freedom of Speech & Association, inquiry, investigation, debate & expression of UNPOPULAR ideas. She wants to shutdown Roissy and by extension the whole of the Seduction community, not because of proven acts of abuse and violence towards Women, but because it doesn’t sit right with HER. And the scary thing about a Ms. Romano is, that because she has the power of the Academy behind her, and the status of her position as a “somebody” in polite society, she has the potential to do real and lasting damage-not just to Roissy, not just to the Seduction community, not just to the MRA community, but anyone who gets her ire, because she will be able to find a way to fandangle the slippery slope definitions of “violence”, “abuse” and “hate groups” and use them as a cudgel against anyone she doesn’t like. And to my mind, that’s not only un-Academic, it’s decidedly and patently un-American, too.

I was taught that the way to deal with unpopular beliefs or ideas wasn’t to try to push them out of the public square, but to air them in the light of day, and to engage said ideas and their purveyors on their own merits; and through rigorous reason, logic, debate and deep Socratic questioning, determine if said ideas can indeed stand up to scrutiny. To date, Ms. Romano, nor Lady Raine and their acolytes, have done NONE OF THIS. Instead, they’ve stooped to the worst kinds of Logical Fallacies, Ad Hominem attacks and Solipsistic (soft) reasoning. It all comes off as something deeply personal, instead of a purely clinical interest, that animates these people, Ms. Romano especially.

I will have more-much, much more-to say about this and related issues, because, as an Archer, the ideals Freedom of Expression & Association, are so important to me that I’d glady give my life to defend them. But I’ll end with this warning to Lady Raine and Ms. Denise Romano, MA, EdM:

You will not win in your “war” with Roissy nor the Seduction or even MRA communities, no matter how hard you try, no matter how low you stoop to do so. The reason why you will not win is because what you’re doing is in direct contradiction with the ideals that have made our country the greatest ever known to Human Beings. It won’t work because the very nature of technology and the way it connects people of like mind, is such that it is impervious to efforts to stamp it out ala Marxist regimes. It won’t work because people-largely Men, but quiet as its kept a not insignificant number of Women too-are on to your act. They will not be intimidated by threats of “outing” or fake the funk witch hunts by the police and other authorities; nor will they be shamed by those who hold themselves out as holier than thou while revealing that they know next to nothing about the very subjects they seek to destroy. If you two really are serious about creating change for the better, you can start by actually boning up on the topics you take issue with, and then conducting actual clinical research that buttresses your arguments. Both of which, if what I’ve seen recently from the two of you is any indication, would be a good a great starting point indeed.

Your serve, Ladies. Now adjourn your asses…
