And this isn’t coming from experience in the HBD world. This is coming from my personal experience with the epitome of non-racially offensive middle class suburban whites.”
Very interesting comments, especially in light of the venues in which they were made.
If there’s one area where HBD can be of most realworld practical use to its enthusiasts, its in the realm of sex and relationships. Unfortunately, as Planet Grok and FeministX, among others, have pointed out, far too many of the HBDers’ focus is on “NAMs” rather than on things that can actually make a difference in their lives. This is important, though-after all, it is Human Nature to scapegoat others for one’s own problems and shortcomings, and no one wants to admit that they are in essence, a loser. Especially when it comes to Women.
I’ve been a part of this odd nexus of Game and HBD online venues now for several years, and during that time, it is undeniable to see that the community is comprised of a kind of Male who fits a distinct profile:
1. White, largely non-Jewish/non-”ethnic”
2. Ranging in age from early 20s-early 40s
3. At least mildly agnostic to fervently atheist
4. Right of Center politically
5. Highly formally educated, ranging from BA to grad school alums
6. And, perhaps most importantly, these guys tend to work in the “STEM” fields-Science, Technology, Engineering and Math.
In other words, based on plain eyeball observation, the average guy in the Game/HBDsphere tends to be White Nerds. Yes, there are notable exceptions-I’m one of them-but the general observations I’ve noted holds up in the main. You won’t find many journalists, artisans, lawyers, or bankers in this crowd; moreover, not many Black Men are to be found here either, for reasons that will be explained below.
HBD, and this is an excellent time to layout my own views regarding it, at its best, is the study of variations of all kinds obtaining across the spectrum of the Human family. One need not be a genetics scholar to know that human beings differ in ways big and small, in aggregate. We see this demonstrated in sports, for example.
The problem, when it comes to the HBDsphere as it is currently defined, is, like FeministX noted recently, that said bloggers cherry pick the kinds of areas of importance and results of HBD-studies they want to highlight. For example, the present day HBD crowd holds to the idea that, based on roughly a century of testing, African Americans consistently score roughly one standard deviation, or fifteen points lower than Whites-therefore, so say the HBDers, nothing can be done to erase this “gap”, because the cause lay in immutable genetic reasons, and not say, Racism.
Personally, that isn’t something that’s abhorrent to me; after all, we all cannot be Einsteins, and it to me is just basic commonsense to know that everyone won’t be born with this or that trait or characteristic.
However, what the HBDers don’t seem to do is take their own focus and really apply it to other areas in life. Above, we see that OneSTDV once again gets it wrong.
I say that because, if indeed HBD is rooted in studying how varied human population groups/sub groups differ from each other, and that these differences have at their base genetic antecedents, then it becomes clear what the real problem is for the “Beta” Males:
They are incapable of attracting the more desirable Females in today’s sexual marketplace.
They are incapable because they lack the traits necessary to attract such Females, chief among them being, social dominance. Nor should this be surprising, given the fact that “social dominance” isn’t a trait that works well in a STEM career. Social dominance works very well if your an I-Banker, or if you work in Big Law or Sales of some kind; social dominance is excellent to have if you work in the arts or entertainment, too.
But the very nature of STEM work demands introspection, solitude, and a kind of myopic focus that, if applied to other areas of life, can be quite debilitating. STEM fields are also inherently “abstract object oriented”, because you work mainly with “things” and not people, something which I-Banking, Big Law, Medicine, Sales and the Arts all demands.
Well, when it comes to Women-who are intensely “people” focused-being a STEM guy simply doesn’t make her wet. Not only are you out of the picture in terms of not being visible to others in what you do, but the HBD-selected traits needed to excel in such fields are those that are *negatively correlated* to success with Women-who are again, far and away more socially aware and focused, than are Men all things being equal.
Hence the advent and booming popularity of Game, a codified system of “how to’s” in terms of getting the attraction of, and having sex with, desirable Women. As one who has spent a good bit of time, online and off, among those who attend bootcamps and the like, let me assure you that in the main, those most likely to be there are White STEM guys. Or put more simply, Nerds.
One of the criticisms of Game has been that it “overpromises” its benefits to Men-that, with just the right training, any guy can land a “HB10″. Of course, this isn’t true, indeed, its often far from the truth. Whether this is due to ignorance of HBD-related factors, or whether it is due to pure good old fashioned American greed, what a lot of guys in these bootcamps and trainings aren’t told is that there are real limits to what they can hope to attract in terms of Women, based on what they’re bringing to the table to begin with-and the truth is, that for the STEM Guys, most simply don’t bring enough “raw material” to get ‘er done.
So, just as OneSTDV got the whole Alpha Male thing wrong, by trying to make the case that Eli Manning was one (he’s WRONG-Michael Vick is an Alpha Male, NOT EITHER MANNING), he gets this issue wrong, too-because, in a culture that valorizes individual choice, freedom of association and has never had a strong tradition of “My Big Fat Greek Wedding”-on top of the advent of the Four Sirens-STEM Guys are really caught in a kind of bind. Yes, he’s right to point out that such guys tend to fare better with Asian females, but even that comes with a bit of “fine print”-for example, such a guy’s chances of landing a Lucy Liu type are slim at best.
But the biggest thing that holds such guys back is the simple fact that Women now live in an age where they don’t need Men to survive in the microsphere, ie, they don’t need to get married or have the input of a Male in their private life in order to survive-which means they have the freedom to pursue those Men who really makes them wet. On that score then, the things STEM Guys like OneSTDV have to offer then, aren’t in high demand circa 2010.
This brings us to FemX’s comments about Black Women. It is said in Game circles that it isn’t a good idea to listen to Women who give advice in the area ofhuman sociosexual relations, because most Women cannot be objective enough to give good advice that’s right down the middle, so to speak-and FemX’s comments are Exhibit A in this regard. Her comments assumes that said hot Black Women would be receptive, A, to White guys in general-when the evidence as we have it would suggest otherwise-and B, that they would be receptive to the OneSTDVs of the world, which again, if simple eyeball observation on the streets of America is any indication, is also demonstrably false.
While OneSTDV makes a interesting point about “settling”, he too reveals his lack of understanding Game-that, in Nature, Males display, and *Females choose*. That’s no different when it comes to Black Women. And the simple truth is, that most Black Women don’t see White Men as viable mates because they don’t see them as “Alpha” enough. Indeed, how many White guys are like Hugh Jackman or Robin Thicke? So, while a White Beta may be loathe to get with a Black Woman because of the message it sends to everyone else, ie “settling”, in truth its the other way around, or at the very least mutual-most Sistas don’t want to “settle” for a White guy either. Indeed, Women-Black or White-have demonstrated that they would rather go without any Man at all, rather than to “settle”.
So, here’s my HBD take on the White STEM Guy’s dilemma:
1. You have to understand that Women who rate a “6″ or higher on the attractiveness scale is, for all intents and purposes, out of your reach. The reason for this is because any such Woman can and will attempt to see what she can snag out on the open market. Women who are at least nominally 6s can if nothing else get a string of booty calls, if not get to be in the rotation of an Alpha Male’s de facto harem. For you, Women who rate a 5 and below are your target market.
2. Now personally, I think that for White STEM Guys, their best bet is to go the Yellow route. For well-known reasons along HBD lines, Asian Women are a good fit for these guys-but again, some fine print needs to be discussed. For one thing, your chances of landing an Asian HB10 are slim, because like all HB10s, they won’t settle for anything less, regardless of color. That said though, Asian Women have a “flatter” bell curve of attractiveness-fewer HB10s among them, but also fewer outright fuglies either. What you get is a wider “middle” of moderately attractive Women, and that coupled with their inherent liking for nerdy guys, White Men still being considered to be the highest status Males in the American social pecking order and so on, makes this probably the best bet for said guys. I should also note that for the relatively rare Black Nerds, like David Alexander, their best bet is getting with similarly disposed White Women, as most Sistas require more dominance in their mates, and as a rule, Black Men don’t find Asian Women attractive in the way White Men do. That said, the David Alexanders of the world need to understand that they’re not likely to land the Jenna Jameson’s of the world either, they’re gunning for the Alphas, White or Black. So, if you’re a Black Nerd, just follow what I said above for White guys, and adapt it to your circumstances, and you’ll be OK.
3. Families have almost no pull in today’s mating environment, so forget what OneSTDV said. American Women love the idea of making their own choices as to who they will hookup with. So be prepared to put your own work in here. Avoid spots where hot chicks proliferate, such as clubs, frat parties, etc. Instead your chief hunting grounds should be the workplace, church, college campus spots such as lecture halls and libraries, SciFi conventions and Comicons, that sort of thing. Apple events might work, too.
