Over the weekend I took the LTR out for the evening.  The details of where we went and what we did are unimportant and would bore you all, so I won’t go into them.  The conversation was a little more interesting.   Like most women I know, the LTR lives in her own little bubble of her wants and desires.  There’s the ritual genuflection to liberal SWPL attitudes and platitudes, but she doesn’t give the political discourse much thought.  She’s got a master’s degree in a field dominated by women and works mostly with women.  For now that’s all the background I’ll share.

Our conversation started by discussing events in the lives of various people we know.   Catching up on the trivial matters and letting the flow of the conversation take us where it may.  Eventually the LTR asked about some events currently occurring in Talleyrand’s life.  As some of you may know, when you live your life to the fullest (as Talleyrand does, but that’s his story to tell), funny or strange things can happen every day.  If you sit on your ass at home taking your daily dose of Soma nothing interesting can take place.

I really don’t recall how we got to talking about status and social order.  The LTR knows very little about game and what she does know is a little one dimensional.  Think ‘asshole game’ and the neg.  The LTR asked me a question regarding male status and how that applies to game.  The LTR knows about dogs and the terms Alpha, Beta, and Omega.  I explained how that applies to human interactions as well.  She informed me that male status doesn’t have anything to do with what a woman is attracted to.  Really?  I asked her one question.  What about Dick the Omega?  She hesitantly acknowledged that no woman would find Dick attractive.

Next she tried to tell me that we never would have had a second date if I’d behaved like Talleyrand does to some of his women.  I laughed at this and told her that I didn’t have to act like that with her.   To be good at game a guy’s got to recognize that he’s got to calibrate his social dominance to the woman he’s trying to game.  I told her that the higher status/better looking the woman is the more the man has to raise his value and lowers hers.  Otherwise she will believe the guy is not good enough for her.

LTR:  That doesn’t work.

Al:  Yes, it does.  A 10 is not going to respect a guy who’s being nice to her.  She get’s that all day long from the beta males that orbit around her.

LTR:  I know lot’s of 10’s who like nice guys.

Al: No you don’t.  Who do you know who you think are 10’s.

LTR: Well, there’s xxx1 and xxx2 for starters.

Al:  They aren’t 10’s.  Xxx1 is a 5 at best and xxx2 is a 6.  Like all women you have an emotional connection and therefore you see them as more beautiful than they are.  You really have no idea what men find attractive.

LTR:  (open mouth and stunned look)  (pause) You really should know your audience.  You’re saying I’m not a 10 too.

Al:  (smile) I know.

LTR: I still don’t know of any of my friends that would put up with guys being a jerk.

Al:  OK.

Now, I know for a fact that she’s got several friends that have swooned over guys with natural game.  One friend fell for a smooth talking black guy with a wife, another girlfriend, and children by both women.  He wrecked her car, got her pregnant, and even got her to bail him out of jail.  Even after all that she was making excuses for the guy.  Game doesn’t work,  my ass!

My LTR continued along the line that she’s happy that I don’t run game on her.  I find this amusing and give her a nice smile but say nothing.  I’ve been running LTR game on her for a year now and our relationship has gone from shaky to solid.  Will that continue?   I don’t know, but I’ll do anything I can to tilt the odds in my favor.

At this point we changed venues.  We are walking to a nice little cafe that serves a wonderful variety of desserts.  She’s grabbed my hand and is leaning into me, thanking me for a wonderful evening.  Then in a joking manner she says,

LTR:  You know you never apologize to me.

Al:  I know. (Incidentally, I don’t ever apologize for my actions or the things I say.  I will apologize for hurting her feelings, but never for the things I do.  It’s a small distinction, but there you go.)

LTR: (sarcastically) You’re so humble.

Al: Yep, just think how arrogant and cocky I’d be if I didn’t have you around.

As we are finishing dessert, My LTR asks me:  Why do you always tell me the source of your facts when we disagree on a topic.

Al:  Because I dislike made up factual data.  I’d prefer that you know where the information comes from as opposed to think that I’m pulling it out of thin air.

LTR:  When has that ever changed my mind?

Al:  (leans back and thinks for a moment) You’re right LTR, the facts don’t matter.

I’ve known it for a while, but I tend to debate with the LTR as I would with my male friends.  I wish I could debate and toss ideas around with my LTR, but I can’t.  Her positions always revolve around how she feels about a subject as opposed to the facts.  Does she realize that I just insulted her by acknowledging that the facts don’t matter to her?  I doubt it.
