Before I explain the title of this post, let me just note that it comes from Newspeak, I mean Newsweek.  I wonder if that media giant intentionally wanted to be so close to that Orwellian term?

So, back to the Newsweek article, which starts with the phrase, “Families need to Man up.” Aside from the fact that this phrase, really means “Be a slave” the fact that it is being applied to families is more than amusing.  It is not enough for the woman to “Woman up”  She needs to man up as well.  Newsweek essentially is saying being a woman isn’t good enough, and the man in the family, well as the article shows he needs to be more of a wife.  (this is their position, not mine).

Welcome to the Hell that was the domain of men, foolish mortal women.  You thought you were goddesses and now you are being laid low, as the tower of Babel was brought asunder . . .

Paragraph one of the article the female author states because of the recessions she is “on her very best behavior at work.” and the very next sentence goes “Which means that when I have to take my daughter to the pediatrician or cut out early to attend her school’s winter concert, I will probably lie.” (emphasis added).

“Very best behavior at work which means I will probably lie.”

I should end right there, but I won’t.  This clearly spells out the problems with our society, what is wrong with women in general and why men are in the situation they are in.  Next time, you are ever caught in a lie, just tell the person that caught you that you were just trying to be on your best behavior.

She gives a laundry list of excuses for her behavior and then says “All of which can force an otherwise honest woman to fib.”

“Force.”  Not tempt, force.  Please.  This is how female reasoning works, it is not her fault if she lies, she was “forced” to by circumstances.  If a woman’s spouse confronts her about sleeping with the bad boy on the street, he “forced” her to lie because she didn’t want to cause him pain.

All this from an “otherwise honest woman.”  The key part of that phrase is “otherwise” as in other than wise, as in not wise, as in typical, as in not an honest woman at all because there will always be a reason beyond her control that makes her do something.  Complete abdication of responsibility.

From this, I am starting to believe that the idea of female freedom is an oxymoron.  Women are never free, because something always forces them to do something.

I am not going to go through the rest of the article and all the lies it presents.  What’s the point?  The woman is an admitted liar when she’s on her best behavior, what else would you expect?
