Overheard a conversation this weekend between a Dad and two elementary school children.

Dad:  Do you know who Martin Luther King was?

Child 1: Of course we do!

Child 2: He was a great man.

Child 1: He freed the slaves.

Child 2 nods in agreement.

Dad: What? No he didn’t, he fought against discrimination and racial inequality.

Child 1: You’re wrong.

Child 2: That’s not what our teachers say.

The obvious solution to this: enlarge the department of education and pay teachers more . . .
