It appears that a couple of the links on the link fest were hijacked by a so called PUA. The first thing I knew something was wrong was when I got an email from Ferdinand and Ulysses shortly after the link fest went up at 000 zulu hour.
The WP support people had the blog back up and emailed me asking that I remove the bad links. I set about editing the post and updating it as I got the bad links removed. Unfortunately there were several bad links and their scanning program picked up the bad link again as I did an interim update and shut us down.
Other than a huge pain in the ass on a nice holiday weekend the problem appears to be solved. Big thank you to Mark at WP for unlocking us once again.
