I came across some pamphlets recently in a police station.  Why I was there is another story.  I try not to frequent those establishments, perhaps I will tell that tale at another time,

The pamphlets were issued on a national level since it was from a different State by the national organization for whatever I could careless.

There were ones on date rape (it happens everywhere!) reading it made me wonder if I would see a date rape on the street.

There were ones that were a checklist of whether you’re in an abusive relationship.  Among my favorites was being accused of cheating.  There wasn’t anything on the list about someone actually cheating being abusive, but being accused of it was there.

What if the accusations are true?

Is that abuse?

Apparently.  Want any evidence that cheating is widespread and most women do it, you need merely read this dreck.

My favorite though had this on the cover:

If you don’t do anything about domestic violence you’re as bad as the abuser.

I am, huh?

Think you’re going to shame me?

So be it.

I am just as bad.

So what?

I don’t care what you think.

I was bored recently and watched The Book of Eli.

Not a great movie, although the idea that a Bible is so important to society and order that a man kills for it was an interesting idea.

Out in the wilds though, on a couple occasions a woman lures people to their doom by pretending to be helpless.

Doom being, robbed, murdered and eaten (and perhaps raped).

On a direct level, intervening to save a woman so stupid that she followed her vagina into the arms of a violent man can get your ass beat. (Hat tip, Vox Day)

I was disgusted that in the movie the men involved all get killed, but she gets left alive to continue preying on people.

The other thing I noted was the main character hears a woman being raped and murdered and he tells himself repeatedly not to intervene.  This is supposedly a man of God.

I think however, that this is ultimately what these pamphlets and attitude will create in men.  An intense apathy to the travails of women.

On an indirect level, this supposed helplessness of women has been the product of widespread actions by the government and intrusions into our homes which are no longer castles but merely holding cells.

Women, just as the woman in the movie, have used this rescuing behavior of men to lure us literally and figuratively as a society to our doom.

You are not my problem and I don’t care.

If that makes me just as bad.

So be it.
