Yep, you heard me, there’s no such thing as karate, kung fu or any other form of martial arts.
I’ve tried it a couple of times. I’ve even engaged in sparring with other people and I found that it does not work for me.
In fact it won’t work for 99% of men.
Why?
The experience gap.
See, the sensei has been doing karate for sixty years, and the next most experienced individual has been doing it for twenty. I can’t beat those two, I won’t ever be able to beat those two in competitions or in a fight because of the experience gap.
These guys have made it impossible for me to get to their level, and really it just isn’t fair and there’s no point to doing it for most men.
It won’t work for the disabled, the lazy or the just plain inept, so in fact it does not exist.
It cannot.
Do you believe the above nonsense?
I didn’t think so.
This was inspired by this post.
Let me address a few problems with the post.
To begin with, women as a group have more experience than any given man. Not sexual experience, which seems to be the focus of the post’s author, but experience in the sexual marketplace. They get approached when they are younger, all the time and are experienced at rejecting men. It is that experience that matters, not how many notches you have (although certainly that can be related).
This situation is faced by men all the time and it is what was faced by men with game before they had game.
Second, recognizing there is in fact an “experience” gap, but it is the lack of effort on the part of the poster that is the experience gap.
I am taking martial arts classes. I go often, but it takes time to get to a black belt, and it takes time to become proficient at it.
The reality is the sensei will always have more experience than I will, and absent disease, injury or the normal break down of the human body over time, he will always be able to beat me. I have seen him swat down men thirty years he junior with twenty years of experience in karate as if it was nothing.
There are people I can beat, even those that out rank me when we spar, because of certain physical advantages. There are those that can beat me easily either because of training and experience or because of their physical advantages, or both.
But each day I get a little better, each day I train I become a little more skilled, a little more experienced.
Saying that game doesn’t work, goes right back to giving women all the power and feeling helpless.
It is embracing defeat.
Learn, adapt, change.
It is what men have always done.
Finally being an asshole is not the same as being angry, or perhaps a better way to put it there’s a difference between a lovable asshole and an angry asshole.
I know because I have been both.
