I love reading conservative blogs.
I love reading religious ones too, like this one. Carefully framed comments and control of the blog just make it all the better. It is to laugh when I read it.
Let me ask, what exactly is the religious and conservative’s view for the future? The vision, as it were. As Professor Hale points out, to be successful, you need what’s wrong with the system currently and a vision of what it will be like when conservatism or the religious victory for society is achieved.
Although there is plenty of comments about what is wrong, I see no vision for what victory would look like.
Because there is none.
What would the United States look like if the religious and/or conservatives won?
The deluded progressives have a vision. It won’t turn out the way they think, but they have one.
When I was a kid, there was a simple trick for solving mazes: go from the end to the start. It worked like a charm and was much easier.
So to with society. Show me the vision and then work your way backward to how it is achieved. Without a vision, there is no direction, without direction, there can be no victory.
A man that could possible have a vision for the future, sees the collapse as inevitable. Civilization will flourish again after the collapse, but the only goal now is to preserve what can be preserved for the future. I submit, that is the only worthy goal of the religious and conservatives, but they will carry on as if they can change the course of history. When all they are really doing is clutching in the hopes that the fall will not happen. That the inevitable reaction to the sickness of our society happens that it will not be so extreme.
Tell me one time in history when conservatism has done anything other than slow down the decline.
Tell me one time when a collapse occurred that the reaction was not extreme?
What is the inevitable direction of our society?
The parable of the good Samaritan comes to mind. After a man was robbed and left half dead at the side of the road, who passed him by? A priest and a Levite did not come to his aid. It was a Samaritan, a man belonging to a group that was not held at the time in as high a standing by the jews.
Just as the priests and the Levite, passed by the man, so to have the churches, the government and women passed by the men in our society as they have been robbed of their families, of their dignity, of their masculinity.
How many men will return to the fold, how many will feel gratitude to the church and women that walked by and ignored their pleadings? (and yes there are good and noble women out there, I do not doubt it, but even they drink of the privileges society has given them).
The marriage strike will grow for the foreseeable future, what is the inevitable result when marriage is destroyed? What value do women offer men now, religious or otherwise?
After the collapse will men suddenly decide marriage is good for them again?
It is to laugh at the idea.
Tell me what is the inevitable result after the collapse of society when there is no marriage to protect women?
When the government largess that props up their lives ends?
When the good will of men has been so twisted and perverted and used against them that it has contorted their hearts and souls, what is the inevitable result?
Until a clear vision of the future that men can get behind is presented, the trends will continue as they have.
