According to the Daily Mail, Mirko Fischer, a 33-year-old hedge fund manager, was sitting in the middle seat between his pregnant wife and a 12-year-old boy when a flight attendant appeared and sternly asked him to move. Fischer explained that he didn’t want to move away from his pregnant wife, but the flight attendant only grew angry, raising his voice and demanding that Fischer move, saying that the plane would not take off unless he did so.
Shamed and humiliated, Mr. Fischer agreed to the move, but the incident bothered him so much that he decided to file suit against British Airways to force them to change their policy of not allowing men to sit next to children on airplanes. Fischer sees the policy as blatant anti-male discrimination, stating:
This policy is branding all men as perverts for no reason. The policy and the treatment of male passengers is absolutely outrageous.
Indeed.
The system-wide hatred of men in the Anglosphere has reached such a level that men are not even trusted in a confined place surrounded by hundreds of other people to behave themselves around children. Perhaps next will be a policy in which grown men can only sit in the back of airplanes, separated from the rest of the passengers by a sheet of ballistic glass with a few airholes and a slot through which the meals are shoved…
One might think that, where safety is concerned, having a man around might actually be good for children. Say an airplane crash landed and all was bloody chaos, fire and mayhem. Wouldn’t a child have a better chance of being saved by an adjacent man than a much weaker, slower woman? Apparently, however, the irrational fear that the man might have dirty thoughts outweighs all other considerations in this upside down world.
