Given the recent buzz about MEK, here is a very relevant incident that just occurred in Baghdad:
According to the AP, a woman detonated an explosive belt amongst Shiite pilgrims in Baghdad, killing at least 41 and wounding over 100.
MEK (AKA MKO) has recently been threatening the Iraqi government and others over their proposed expulsion from the country, and the group has hundreds of fanatically loyal women who would carry out acts like this.
It wouldn’t surprise me in the least if the feminist group were behind this act of mass murder, which a hallmark of MEK activism.
It’s time to take feminism a lot more seriously; in fact, like Al Qaeda, feminist demands are deadly serious. There is even speculation that MEK is planning to set up a base in Pakistan to carry out attacks against Iran and Afghanistan.
The US state department and military should be very careful about dealing with these people, as any support we give them will only reflect very poorly on us.
