New Year has always been an oddly resonant holiday for me. Although I never took it all that seriously, I remember many of my New Years better than I should, given the circumstances. It will probably be quiet for me this year, as I’ll be with my little ones, but I hope readers get out there and truly celebrate it if they have the time.

When I lived in Peking, my Chinese friends always demanded some performance of Auld Lang Syne, and the Chinese are karaoke junkies (to my great dismay), so I looked for a decent rendition of the song. Below is about the best I could find. Not too cheap, not too queer, and apparently genuinely Scottish.

Enjoy!
