Samantha Brooks of Glasgow has been fooling women into bed with her for some eight years, posing as a man to satiate her sexual appetite. She wrapped her breasts with bandages, claiming to have been burned or stabbed, and would not let her conquests touch her false penis. Somehow, she also managed to urinate while standing up (wouldn’t want to clean that toilet).

Although this is a particularly extreme example of sex by fraud, one has to wonder whether her lovers were really ignorant enough to miss the clues, or whether they simply had regrets later on. Of course, if posing as another sex is criminal, things might get a bit more complicated for transsexuals. However, the feminist “mentula rea” (guilty penis) doctrine will inevitably be brought to bear, so the holder of the penis, even if fake as in this case, will be solely responsible.

Given the state of contemporary sex law, the fact that Ms. Brooks used a fake phallus rather than the real thing probably won’t help her any more than it would help a bank robber using a fake gun.
