Paul Elam is in the final stages of his preparation to go on air with a radio show slated to kick off on the first of March. The show will feature interviews, commentary and a monthly broadcast with Dr. Tara Palmatier.
I expect Paul to bring his signature, hard hitting commentary to bear in defense of men, and am convinced that the show will soon develop a loyal audience and following. In fact, I think this is just the beginning for Paul; given the rising awareness of the issues men are facing, incipient political activism, and the renewed, revitalized Men’s Rights Movement, there will be plenty of opportunities for him to take his show to the public and make our case to a wider audience. Additionally, Paul hits a demographic sweet spot — he can speak directly to the boomers while retaining appeal to younger men looking to learn what they can do to prevent future problems and move forward in a positive direction. Given contemporary Western politics this is an important consideration.
Mr. Elam has put years into this effort, and deserves a spot in the forefront of the movement he represents. Fortunately, the stars have aligned over the last year or so, and it’s finally possible for this to occur. Although we can’t be sure exactly what will come of it all, the will and sophistication inherent in the contemporary men’s movement is like nothing I’ve ever seen in my life, and I expect it to continue to grow for some time.
So, for those of us directly involved as well those who prefer to cheer from the bleachers – the 12th man is always a player – we now have an opportunity to sit back and listen for a while. It will be a rewarding experience.
