Barbara Anderson, a 37-year-old teacher in the Kentlke school district, has pleaded not guilty to felony sexual misconduct following her arrest for alleged improprieties with a 17-year-old student. The teacher is alleged to have had sexual contact with the boy in her classroom, and exchanged hundreds of explicit text messages with him. She faces up to a year in prison.
Reports of female teachers taking advantage of male students have reached an entirely new level in recent years, perhaps as women in American society grow increasingly sexually frustrated under the feminist regime. This phenomenon, which was virtually unheard of a mere twenty years ago, has become so commonplace as to barely raise eyebrows today.
The penalty for sex with minor students is rather harsh considering the libertine nature of society in general. In this case, it is a result of anti-male hysteria coming full circle to expose women themselves to the draconian laws meant to protect them from “predatory” males.
Although teachers clearly shouldn’t be sleeping with students, and those that do should be terminated and banned from the profession, a consensual fling with an adolescent over the age of 14 does not merit imprisonment. However, the thinking used to be that innocent little girls were being led astray by wolfish men who couldn’t control their lust, and punishing “bad guys” has always been a popular proposition. In fact, in most cases the students themselves are fully willing participants in the act, and probably deserve a share of the blame themselves.
If there is any reason to imprison a teacher for having sex with a student, it is that the teacher could expose the child to real harm. For example, say a teacher with HIV slept with a student. That teacher should go to jail. Another example would be a teacher that got pregnant by the child, and saddled a boy with 18 years of child support payments. Given that the potential for pregnancy exists for any fertile woman, and the boy would have no say in whether or not he wanted to be a father, it may be fair to say that female teachers who sleep with students should be imprisoned for exposing the boy to ruin. A male teacher who impregnated a female student would not be liable to the same extent, because the female student has the option of abortion, adoption or automatic child support.
Therefore, although it appears unreasonable on the face of it, there may actually be just cause for imprisoning a female teacher who sleeps with a minor male student. Until, of course, such unreasonable laws as we have pertaining to fatherhood are erased from the books.
So, sorry Ms. Anderson. If you end up doing time, thank your sisters.
