Anthony Weiner finally announced his resignation after weeks of uproar over his online exhibitionism. Weiner’s indiscretions are really nothing important in the grand scheme of things, but they were a further humiliation for Americans who used to have some respect for political office.
The resolution of Weinergate should give men some satisfaction, as it has resulted in the removal of a committed feminist white knight, and a raging hypocrite to boot, from Congress. However, there are certainly plenty of others skulking around in DC at the moment, and we should do what we can to bring their insidious deeds to light and give them the opportunity to share in some Weineresque infamy.
I’d like to point out once again that Weiner’s fall from power was preceded by enormous hubris, as he took on “Civic Virtue,” attempting to cast it out of New York in a gesture to his feminist allies.
He lost.
