More support is needed for The Spearhead to maintain operations through the fall quarter. Some generous readers have already come through, but more is needed to keep the site running consistently through the next few months. The Spearhead has become a community site that publishes a consistent stream of content, which requires regular maintenance and a lot of time-consuming writing and editing. I’d really like to keep it running at the same level, but that won’t be possible without adequate funds — I’ll have to drastically curtail the time I spend working on the site to stay above water.
The site provides a unique perspective on men’s issues in the West, and has already made a substantial impact on the MRM, inspiring many men to come out in the open and speak in favor of their interests. Where men used to be confined to fora and other relatively isolated communities, they are now expanding into other forms of media. This is why I named the site “The Spearhead” — it was intended to thrust men’s issues into the popular consciousness. It has worked in this regard – better than I expected, in fact – and even the mainstream media has begun to take notice.
One idea I’ve come up with to justify the time I’ve put into the site is to sell my own services here, because, after all, the site does get a lot of traffic, and it wouldn’t be very smart of me to waste that opportunity. So, for those who are interested, I’d be happy to write, edit and publish (electronically and in print) for hire. I’ll expand on that with a “hire me” page, but for now anyone interested in the service should simply contact me by email (through the contact page) and I’ll be happy to talk about what I can offer.
I’d like to thank those who have supported The Spearhead — I am very grateful. Every donation helps, and if every regular reader gave the cash equivalent of eating out once a year (or, alternatively, one café latté per month) it would be entirely adequate, but this being the internet, it’s necessary to ask from time to time.
