Dragnet commented and asked to explain something in my last post, and I’d like to respond to the following:
Welmer—good to see you back and writing again. Can you elaborate a bit more on this part:
“That external threat is coming. It is gathering forces and preparing for a long campaign.”
Or perhaps that is the subject of your next post?
Hope all is well

Dragnet’s asking a good question. That was kind of an ominous final note, and I should explain it.
First, I wrote it while I was thinking in terms of macrohistorical trends, like the rise of Islam. That explains the dark tones behind it.
What I meant was that there is going to be a rearrangement of the world order, and that’s plain to see for anyone paying attention. The people and ideas that dominated the world for the last couple centuries are going to see that dominance challenged and probably overwhelmed.
I can’t attach much moral significance to it at this point, aside from the fact that as humans living on planet Earth we’ll have to find a way to adjust so as to avoid another round of cataclysmic struggles.
Equalism cannot provide the answers to what we’re facing. It was a hothouse flower nurtured in a particular environment by a particular people (17th and 18th century NW Europe), and these people’s star is past its zenith.
So the “gathering forces” are demographic and cultural challenges mounting against the ethny and philosophy that has ruled the world in the modern era.
For my part, I’m willing and eager to dispense with the old philosophy, which is going nowhere fast, but it’s going to be much more difficult for a lot of people to do so, which means that there will be another cultural upheaval coming soon. Very soon, I think. I can almost feel it in my gut already.
