Intro

“There is currently a movement known as “red pill” that is handicapping young people and dooming them to a lifetime of failed relationships.”

In this post, I’ll cover the fifth perspective of The Red Pill [B-]: Those who view The Red Pill as a community of [insert slur] radicals.

Characteristics of ‘Red Pill Bad!’ Soundboxes

There are many types of people of all different backgrounds that have a profusely negative estimation of The Manosphere / Red Pill.  It would be an elusive task to try to describe them as a single group.  However, they do share a spectrum of characteristics which I’ll list here.  As a disclaimer to the statistically inept, not everyone who denigrates the RP has ALL of these traits, but they will have some.  I’ll guesstimate that if someone has at least 10 of the following traits, then it is highly likely that they’ll also have a strong distaste for all things RP.

Voices roundly condemning The Red Pill share many of the following characteristics.

  1. Claim to be happily married for decades but are atypically evasive or silent about their married life.
  2. Claim to have mastered the secrets to relationship success.
  3. Civilizationists who object to the nihilistic influence of The Red Pill.
  4. View traditional conservatism as a cultural fantasy, a religious delusion, and/or a socioeconomic lifestyle fetish. 
  5. Profess to be conscientious / mystical / spiritual, but not ‘religious’, which may be code for ‘humanitarian’.
  6. Critical of organized religion, often describing it as ‘controlling’ or ‘oppressive’.
  7. View authoritarianism as corrupt and/or destructive.
  8. Regard controlling organized religion and corrupt authoritarianism as intimate bedfellows.
  9. Regard both religion and The Red Pill as highly orchestrated methods of population control and/or social regulation.
  10. Associate Headship with authoritarianism and/or organized religion, i.e. Christianity, and thus view it negatively.
  11. Claim that the link between The Red Pill and The God Pill is a lie intended to whitewash the darker implications of taking the Red Pill and/or to attract conservative religiosos.
  12. Associate The Red Pill with criminal entities, grifters, !ncәls, mass mǔrdәrәrs, Pickup Artists, p!mps, players, psychopaths, etc.
  13. Point to the fact that many Red Pill gurus are autistic, bitter, divorced, jaded, jilted, ‘m!s0gyn!sts’, polysexual, polymath misfits, etc., and then state that it’s unwise to take relationship advice from such men.
  14. Recommend or are empathic towards divorce for relationships that are ‘emotionally abusive’, ‘excessively controlling’, and/or “are just not working out”.
  15. Will sympathize with Feminism / Gynocentrism on select points related to individual freedoms or the wellbeing of women.
  16. Generally view women as hypoagentic / lacking agency but also dependent on men.
  17. Tend to be either financially successful enough or socially isolated enough to enjoy being emotionally and financially insulated from the more egregious social problems of modern society.

Readers will note that there is a general aversion to authority, organized religion, and headship.  This is no coincidence, as the recognition of hierarchy is an important hallmark of The Red Pill (and Christian faith).  In fact, this aversion to authority / Headship is what clued me in to this as being a central tenet of The Red Pill, as I explained in a previous post, Red Pill Authenticity: The Spirit of Headship (2023/4/28).  It is also worth mentioning that trust in authority is central to faith — our trust in God.

Comprehensive Summary

In sum…

The Red Pill cuts through all the false hopes, illusions, polite pleasantries, and pretty lies, and bites into the raw truth of things. But ‘Red Pill Bad!’ types cannot accept the fact that the truth is often dirty, inconvenient, unpleasant, and ugly, no matter how true it may be, so ‘Red Pill Bad!’ types will regard it as bad, ‘unclean’, detrimental, dirty, and defiling.

‘Red Pill Bad!’ types see themselves as pure and righteous, and are therefore focused on defending and maintaining their own comfort zones.  They are afraid that the truths of The Red Pill might rip off their pearls of propriety and leave their souls naked.

‘Red Pill Bad!’ types cannot admit the possibility that the uglier aspects of the truth also apply to them personally. Their only concept of truth is the warm fuzzy, milk and honey, land of plenty stuff.  They’ll reject anything contrary to this.

For this reason, ‘Red Pill Bad!’ types like to expose all the downsides and negatives of The Red Pill and then reject it out of hand — without going to the extra effort required to put it all together to understand why things are the way they are.

‘Red Pill Bad!’ types cannot imagine the possibility that the worst sorts of failures might be instructive of the most common intricacies problematic of relationships; viz. The Dirtier the Dispenser, the Purer the Red Pill.

‘Red Pill Bad!’ types might express sympathy for those experiencing personal and/or relationship difficulties, but then they’ll brush over them as debased, inconsequential, and/or irrelevant.  “Low-lifes get what they deserve, and it’s none of my concern.”  They routinely fail to see and/or reject ministry opportunities, presumably because of their hesitancy to get their hands dirty, or fears of becoming defiled by association.

Commentaries

The prevalence of this impression might be explained by simply stating that the Manosphere / Red Pill has a marketing problem — a point that Bardelys the Magnificent has brought up many times lately.

In addition to this, many individuals exhibit a general inability to swallow the bitterest morsels of truth, as Feeriker wrote,

“It’s been asserted in other parts of the ‘sphere before (at Dalrock’s?) that some people are simply incapable of either understanding or accepting Red Pill truths, and that women are first and foremost among these. Even those rare women who do gain some insight into and understanding of RP truths and actually attempt to live their own lives in sympathy with these truths eventually find the bitter, powerful reality of them too much to absorb and retreat from them. What we here once referred to as “The Manosphere Ladies’ Auxiliary” is a good illustration of this. Those few women who were once members and who contributed content to manosphere blog discussions on a semi-regular basis in the past are now gone. This ultimately is not surprising, but it certainly is illustrative of the chasmic differences in the ability of the two sexes to process and adapt to reality.”
