What is Witchcraft?

Introduction

The Western connotation of W!tchcr@ft brings up images of cackling wart-nosed women dressed in black Medieval garments, huddled over steaming cauldrons of green potion.  It is similar to how the image of Satan has been reduced to that of a mischievious, mustached joker in a red skinsuit holding a trident.  Or St. Nicholas being recast as a fat, old, bearded man who is chuckling incessantly and can fly around the world in a single night and slide down chimneys without soiling his fluffy red and white suit.

IMO, these trite images of evil personified have robbed Westerners of a true understanding of W!tchcraft, Satan, etc., thereby allowing these powers to reign more freely over society.

The other popular impression of W!tchcr@ft is that it is some ancient obscure pagan religion that has little relevance today, except to W!cc@ns, et al.

I too once held these notions earlier in life, but my experience overseas has taught me otherwise.  I am hoping to make a dent in this image through these writings and get people to think more critically and realistically about what W!tchcr@ft really is, such that they can take the necessary actions to defeat it, if/when it becomes necessary.

So far, I know Western readers may not have taken my writings about W!tchcr@ft very seriously.  Some readers have questioned my idea of W!tchcr@ft, and have offered their own takes.  So here, I should clarify that I’m describing W!tchcr@ft as I have come to know it through living in Asia and from dealing with women displaying behaviors that others (including pastors) have seriously and sincerely called out as W!tchcr@ft.

In doing so, I’m stepping away from the commonly held notions of W!tchcr@ft as an involvement in the occult, W!cca, up-side-down pentagrams, magic potions, black cats, broomsticks, broad-brimmed and pointy-peaked black hats, and other such hocus pocus that is designed to distract attention from the true reality of W!tchcr@ft.  Instead, I’ll describe what I believe is the spiritual reality of W!tchcr@ft that is referred to in scripture and some of its modern manifestations.

A materialist reduction of W!tchcr@ft can be summarized as manipulative psychopathy, specifically Narcissistic Personality Disorder.  But this analysis fails to recognize the metaphysical / spiritual forces at work behind such conditions.  Here, I’ll attempt to bridge this gap.

First, let’s look at what the Bible has to say about W!tchcr@ft.

W!tchcr@ft = Drugs

In many versions of the Bible, “W!tchcr@ft” is translated as “black magic”, “divination”, or “sorcery”.

The word translated as “W!tchcr@ft” (or “sorcery” in other translations) is φαρμακεία (pharmakeia), the same root word as pharmacy.

Strong’s 5331 describes pharmakeia as…

5331 pharmakeía (from pharmakeuō, “administer drugs”) – properly, drug-related sorcery, like the practice of magical-arts, etc.

Definition: the use of medicine, drugs or spells
Usage: magic, sorcery, enchantment.

From Bible Hub:

“The word φαρμακεία, originally denoting the use of drugs merely, means, sometimes, their use for poisoning; but this sense would not be very suitable here. But the nouns φαρμακός, φαρμακεύς, and φαρμακεία, like veneficus and veneficium in Latin, are also often used with reference to the employment of drugs in charms and incantations; and thence of the employment of black arts in general — magic, sorcery, W!tchcr@ft; cf. Revelation 9:21; Revelation 21:8; Revelation 22:15; where the Authorized Version gives “sorceries”, “sorcerers”; and in the Septuagint, Exodus 7:11, 22; Exodus 8:18 (Authorized Version, “magicians”); Isaiah 47:9,12 (“enchantments”). See also μαγεύων, μαγείας (“sorceries”), Acts 8:9, 11.”

What kinds of drugs are used in this way today?

Most obvious would be hallucinogens and psychoactive / psychedelic drugs like ecstasy / molly, L S D, magic mushrooms, etc., and op!0!ds like her0!n, ket@m!ne, 0xyc0nt!n, etc.

More loosely, it is any highly addictive drug or one that forms a psychological dependency which affects the mind and mood.  This would include alcohol, @mphәt@m!nәs (mәth), C0c@!ne (crack), m@r!ju@n@, Valium, etc.

Interestingly, concerning an old song by the Rolling Stones, Mother’s Little Helper (released in 1965), a reference to housewives using tranquilizers, one music critic said, “it is as though Jagger read Friedan, as he channeled her basic ideas” about the “trapped housewife” phenomenon.  These days, alcohol (i.e. wine) is the preferred anesthesia for washed up Alpha Widows.  Apparently, marriage (nor the absinth thereof), has nothing to do with their misery.

Some psychotropic drugs could also be included, depending on one’s condition and the context.  Things like antianxiety medications, antidepressants, antipsychotics, and certain stimulants.  Remember that many drugs in this class remain experimental and scientists do not yet understand why these drugs work as they do.  Likewise, neither do we fully understand the spiritual impact of these drugs — except as an indicator that something is not right.

Another one is hormonal pharmaceutics.  This would include ‘gәndәr rәass!gnmәnt’ therapy drugs and hormonal birth control which is known to alter womens’ mood and their perception of men, and is directly linked to abortion, cancer, and divorce. In fact, Soranus of Ephesus, a 2^nd century physician, identified pharmakeia as drugs used to induce abortions.

If we had contemporary artists like Bob Dylan and Mick Jagger, then we would be hearing songs about women branch swinging and/or hitting the carousel after coming off of birth control and then suddenly dying of breast cancer or venous thromboembolism.

W!tchcr@ft = Rebellion

Rebellion is when one forsakes the spiritual authority one is under and sets up an independent spiritual authority for themselves.  It is the same for political rebellion.  A group of people throw off the political authority of their government, and set up their own government.  Whether it is successful or not is decided by God.

The Bible identifies W!tchcr@ft as being equivalent to Rebellion.

For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft,
And stubbornness is as iniquity and idolatry.

1 Samuel 15:23 (NKJV)

This brings us to the next characteristic.

W!tchcr@ft = Sexual Sin / Adultery / Porneia / Promiscuity / etc.

The Lord speaks of Nineveh metaphorically as a harlot and draws an association with sorcery / W!tchcr@ft.

“All because of the many harlotries of the harlot, the charming one, the mistress of sorceries, who sells nations by her harlotries and families by her sorceries.

Nahum 3:4 (NASB1995)

The apostle Paul called W!tchcr@ft a “deed of the flesh” and gives a number of associated traits, including sexual immorality.

¹⁹ Now the deeds of the flesh are evident, which are: sexual immorality, impurity, indecent behavior, ²⁰ idolatry, witchcraft, hostilities, strife, jealousy, outbursts of anger, selfish ambition, dissensions, factions, ²¹ envy, drunkenness, carousing, and things like these, of which I forewarn you, just as I have forewarned you, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.

Galatians 5:19-21 (NASB)

St. John makes the same association in Revelation.

But for the cowardly, and unbelieving, and abominable, and murderers, and sexually immoral persons, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, their part will be in the lake that burns with fire and brimstone, which is the second death.”

Revelation 21:8 (NASB)

Sexual sin is not equivalent to W!tchcr@ft, but it is a gateway to W!tchcr@ft.  Once a woman becomes legion one with multiple men in body and in spirit, she is able to compare and contrast the essential spiritual authority of those men, connect some of the dots, and piece together a false semblance of spiritual authority for herself.

Porneia is perhaps most commonly used as an anesthetic (for men) or a diversion (for women).  Concerning the former, Jock Jousting serves as a defacto sedative to reduce sexual tension, calm the nerves, and is erroneously thought to increase confidence around women. Porneia becomes W!tchcr@ft when it is used to control others (e.g. sexual withholding in marriage), or to alter one’s sense of reality. (Yes, p0rn changes the brain.)

Sexual sin also ties into Uncovering Nakedness (2023/12/16), an indicator that W!tchcr@ft may be at work.

Witchcr@ft as a Cult Religion

The grand majority of people who are into the occult or W!tchcr@ft are attracted to the gnostic spiritualism, but they lack the actual spiritual awareness needed to tap into the powers thereof.  To be honest, most of them don’t really know much about real divination, sorcery, or W!tchcr@ft.  They just think it’s cool, fascinating, or fun.

For the few who really ‘get it’, there are as many flavors of W!tchcr@ft as you can imagine, mostly because there is no single, central dogma of W!tchcr@ft. But the one central defining element of W!tchcr@ft is the projection of one’s mindset and will onto others.  In general, practitioners of W!tchcr@ft believe in supernatural forces that govern existence, and that these powers can be harnessed or manipulated to project the will of the practitioner into the world. Ceremonies, chants, divination, drugs, invocations, prayers, rituals, and spells are the vehicles by which one can project their will and make it manifest in their own life.

It is possible for Scientism / Positivism to be used to this end, when it is seen to provide answers to difficult questions — all for the purpose of attaining greater knowledge, power, and control over one’s mortal life and/or environment. This purpose is not always bad or wrong.  God created man to rule over the earth (Genesis 1:26-28).  But the denial of God’s omniscient power recasts Positivism into an exercise of vainglorious futility.  Thus, it is not surprising that many Positivists are also atheists.

Finally, a person does not need to know that they are practicing W!tchcr@ft in order to do these things.  Many W!tches operate without the full knowledge of what they are doing.  I believe such individuals are controlled by an evil spirit.

W!tchcr@ft is a Form of Spiritual Abuse

In our study of Redemption back in 2022/9, Spiritual Abuse / W!tchcr@ft within the church was noted as one of the current issues that prevent men from finding redemption.

Instead of spreading the Gospel to all nations, the contemporary heretics we’ll call W!tches have been evangelized by the world, and they, in turn, seek to convert the faithful and the young to worldly paradigms. They pay lip service to orthodoxy while lecturing Christians on morality. Hypocritically, the Witches’ morals are not informed by Christianity, but by Feminism and the Death Cult.

The main strategy here is to shift conscious awareness away from truth and introspection and towards an acceptance of gnostic / heretical worldly notions and scripts.

Guilt and shame tactics, as well as false testimony, gossip, and slander are often utilized, and are backed by convolutions of scripture.  The purpose is to weaken the confidence, faith, and spiritual authority of opponents, and to assert authority and/or control over others.  When these methods fail, ostracization, rejection, and scapegoating are implemented in an effort to oust the opposition.

Of note, The Problem of Female Pastors in the Church sets up a social hierarchy in which W!tchcr@ft can be easily and regularly implemented, if so chosen by will or by ineptitude.

Other Characteristics of W!tchcr@ft

Considering how W!tchcr@ft envelops sex, drugs, and rebellion, we might wonder what other things are in common, other than a hippie commune or a rock concert.

Lying

It is common for lies to be employed when shifting contexts to deceive.  In fact, only the most experienced and expert w!tches can shift contexts without inventing little lies that fill in the gaps between their twisted version of the story and the truth.

Jezebel is an excellent example of a w!tch who used lies to shift paradigms, seduce and incite others to unrighteous action and slaughter the righteous.

Gaslighting

Gaslighting is the act of manipulating someone into making them doubt their reasoning, memories, or understanding of an event, thereby leading the person to lose confidence and be more likely to trust the w!tch’s judgments. Gaslighting is a unique form of W!tchcr@ft in that it has a retroactive effect.

Hypocrisy

One expression of love is to see the good in others, even though it may not be overtly expressed.  This is not considered lying or W!tchcr@ft, because it sets the eyes of our hearts on what is beautiful, good, and true.  Hypocrisy, OTOH, conceals sins by introducing a false identity of goodness and thereby denies the real sinful self.  When directed towards others, hypocrisy is expressed as overweening flattery.

Legalism

Legalism is basically trading God’s paradigm of sin and forgiveness for one of salvation by works, or better salvation by more works.  W!tches implement legalism by gracelessly pointing out errors and shortcomings — not to make the person aware of their weaknesses for the purpose of improving thereupon, but to assert dominance / moral superiority, and to control or shame them.  Remember, subordinates are held accountable to authorities, NOT the other way around.  W!tches routinely attempt to invert this structure.

Revealing Nakedness

One common tactic of w!tches is to uncover one’s nakedness by drawing attention to a person’s carnal desires, humanity, or mortality, often mockingly.

For example, consider the husband talking about something important that the w!tchy wife doesn’t want to hear.  So she’ll passive-aggressively call out something about his appearance or dress.  For instance, she might say…

“Eww…  Did you fart?”

“Hmm…  That shirt has a bad stain on the front.”

“Did you not brush your teeth / shave / shower today?”

“Pew!  You need to use deodorant!  I can smell you from over here.”

“OK, I heard you.  Be sure to comb your hair before you leave the house.”

If confronted, she’ll cloyingly say that she cares, and is displaying loving behavior.  But in fact, she is exerting authority over him by treating him like a child. Her motivation is to discredit or undermine his spiritual authority at that moment.  If she truly respected his authority, she would show that behavior at other times, and NOT at the moment he is making a point.  If done continuously over time, this will erode the man’s confidence.

Summary

In its most essential metaphysical form, W!tchcr@ft asserts or claims a false or deceptive authority upon which the practitioner can assume control over others or a situation. W!tches who lack the outward credentials / reputation of holding authority themselves will attach themselves to a person of status who holds authority and work through that person by exerting spiritual authority over him/her.

In its most basic manifestation, W!tchcr@ft is the act of shifting the paradigm in mid-context such to accomplish one or more of the following.

• To distract from the truth.
• To convince others to disbelieve in what is true.
• To convince others to believe in a paradigmatic lie, AKA casting a spell / deception.
• To undermine / usurp the confidence, faith, and legitimate authority of others.
• To garner power or control.
• To manipulate others or events.
• To steer the outcome of events towards one’s personal interests.

Now, some readers may ask, “Isn’t shifting the paradigm what imposing frame is all about?”  The answer is yes, except men (in general) have been granted the spiritual authority to interpret and implement truth according to context, whereas women who lack moral agency and who are under the dominion of men have not.  One’s capability of acting as a moral agent of truth (e.g. in establishing Frame) is a part of one’s spiritual maturity.  This is why most all w!tches are female — because women are more inclined to resist agency and accountability.

Male w!tches do exist, but the nature of male w!tchery is not so much about manipulating others as it is about beguilement and deception.  A good number of old school PUAs were actually warlocks, if truth be told. 

Women’s proper role is to submit to the frame of their male authority (e.g. father if single, husband if married, pastor or son if widowed). Her not submitting is rebellion, but shifting the frame away from truth and constructing her own paradigm of pseudo-truth which is bent towards her interests of control and manipulation is a step beyond that into W!tchcraft.
