This is the relationship we are to have with civil authorities.

13 Submit yourselves for the Lord’s sake to every human authority: whether to the emperor, as the supreme authority, 14 or to governors, who are sent by him to punish those who do wrong and to commend those who do right.  15 For it is God’s will that by doing good you should silence the ignorant talk of foolish people.  16 Live as free people, but do not use your freedom as a cover-up for evil; live as God’s slaves.  17 Show proper respect to everyone, love the family of believers, fear God, honor the emperor.

I Peter 2:13-17 (NKJV)

This is the relationship we are to have with those who hold authority over us.

18 Slaves, in reverent fear of God submit yourselves to your masters, not only to those who are good and considerate, but also to those who are harsh.  19 For it is commendable if someone bears up under the pain of unjust suffering because they are conscious of God.  20 But how is it to your credit if you receive a beating for doing wrong and endure it?  But if you suffer for doing good and you endure it, this is commendable before God.  21 To this you were called, because Christ suffered for you, leaving you an example, that you should follow in his steps.

And what was Christ’s example?

22 “He committed no sin, and no deceit was found in his mouth.”

23 When they hurled their insults at him, he did not retaliate; when he suffered, he made no threats. Instead, he entrusted himself to him who judges justly.  24 “He himself bore our sins” in his body on the cross, so that we might die to sins and live for righteousness; “by his wounds you have been healed.”  25 For “you were like sheep going astray,” but now you have returned to the Shepherd and Overseer of your souls.

I Peter 2:22-25 (NKJV)

This is the relationship God ordained for wives to husbands.

Likewise, ye wives, be in subjection to your own husbands; that, if any obey not the word, they also may without the word be won by the conversation of the wives; While they behold your chaste conversation coupled with fear. Whose adorning let it not be that outward adorning of plaiting the hair, and of wearing of gold, or of putting on of apparel; But let it be the hidden man of the heart, in that which is not corruptible, even the ornament of a meek and quiet spirit, which is in the sight of God of great price. For after this manner in the old time the holy women also, who trusted in God, adorned themselves, being in subjection unto their own husbands: Even as Sara obeyed Abraham, calling him lord: whose daughters ye are, as long as ye do well, and are not afraid with any amazement.

I Peter 3:1-6 (NKJV)

The “likewise” in verse 1 indicates that we’re talking about another subject.  That is, wives are NOT civil authorities, masters, or bosses.

Yes.  Peter, the man Jesus said was the foundational rock of the church, was going full unapologetic m!s0gyn!st p@tr!@rch!st in describing how wives should act for the good of their marriages and the faith.

In other words: Wives, submit to your husbands, the men you picked, so that they may also do the Word and so that they see your inner beauty and not outward nagging and complaining, so as to make it easier to love you. Do this because you trust Me, and not men.

St. Paul says the same thing.

Wives, submit to your own husbands, as to the Lord. For the husband is head of the wife, as also Christ is head of the church; and He is the Savior of the body. Therefore, just as the church is subject to Christ, so let the wives be to their own husbands in everything.

Ephesians 5:22-24 (NKJV)

As Christ is to the Church, so your husbands are to you. This is so because the LORD, not men, ordained it. The Church is expected to obey Christ in everything; so you are expected to obey your husbands in everything. Everything means EVERYTHING. If Peter and Paul had meant to say, “…everything that is fitting and seemly” or “…everything in that which you are likeminded”, then they would have said that.  Or if they had meant to say, “…everything except X, Y, and Z and other things to be named later”, then they would have said that.  

But they didn’t, now did they?  No, they said EVERYTHING. Period.

That’s not me saying that. That’s not men saying that. That’s God saying that. The God Whose Spirit gave these words to Peter and Paul to give His people. The God women purport to worship and speak for in their Proverbs 31 “ministries”.

All this is why I point out, again, as Christ said:

I’m going to the Cross for you, to die for your sins. I’m going to pay the cost of your sin because you can’t possibly pay that price. Since you can’t do it, I’ll do it for you. But in return, you must keep My commandments. Do what I tell you to do.

Trust Me and obey Me. And tell others about Me and the Good News I gave you.

If I have to let the world nail me to a cross every day for your sake, then you have to do what I say.

Do you think it’s easy being the “head” part of this?  You think it’s easy and fun letting the world nail me to a cross every day for a rebellious, disobedient, hateful wife?

Do you think it’s easy being responsible for you?

Do you think it’s easy having to answer to society for you and our kids?

Do you think it’s easy knowing that when I die I will stand before God and give an account for how well I led you, took care of you, washed you in the Word, and bore up under my daily crucifixion?

Do you think it’s easy carrying that every day?

Do you think it’s easy to suffer for your sake?

Would you like to do this? Would you like to carry this burden?

No?  Well, if I have to suffer for your sake, then you have to do as I say.

You don’t have to accept this. If you don’t, then you have to let the world nail you, and not me, to a cross every day. You won’t have me to protect you. You’ll have to do it all yourself.

You don’t have to accept this. If you don’t, then you will pay the price for your sins. That price is eternal separation from Me and from My Father.

Now, women: Go, and be not only hearers, but also doers, of the Word. That Word you claim to obey. That Word you claim to exegete. That Word you claim to know and love.

Be ye hearers and doers of the Word.

It’s up to you. Choose this day whom you will serve.
