The western news media is proficient in propaganda.
Readership: My fellow Americans
It’s pretty obvious by now that western news has converged to selective liberalism.
In Biden Squared (2020 November 1), I pointed out the extreme selective bias of the Western news media. News is selected (or concocted) based on how well it matches the liberal agit-prop narrative.
Novaseeker lamented,
“We have no real news about anything relating to the election in the US right now. I mean the media is talking nonstop about the election but at the same time there is basically a media blackout going on around the election in that it is the most exceptionally one-sided election reporting I have ever seen, much moreso than even in 2016, which was itself the worst until then as well. Literally nothing that could interfere with Biden’s coronation is being reported. For example, there were substantial riots last week in Philadelphia that were simply not reported in the media much at all, because the underlying cause for them didn’t match the narrative — so they buried the story. The press is activist, not informational. As a result, no-one here knows what will happen on Tuesday. The polls clearly say who is going to win, but very few people trust the polls right now, so it feels kind of like a media blackout in that nothing is really clear.”
Western nooz is a travesty. A small country in Asia (or Russia’s RT News) has better coverage of the U.S. elections than the American news media. Granted, the news in Taiwan is just as liberal, but they call it like they see it because their biases are limited to Taiwanese national interests.
Here in Taiwan, the U.S. election is getting a whopping 30% of the air time news reporting lately, because the outcome of the election is very important to Taiwan’s future diplomacy with China. The Taiwanese don’t really like Trump because he is “sudden” and “reckless” and very rude by Taiwanese standards, but they LOVE what Trump has done with China. They think Biden is more polite and professional, but he’s a schmoozy “dirty money” man with “liar eyes”. It’s amazing how clearly they can see Trump’s and Biden’s natures, while the American people cannot.
I watched the local news last night. They were discussing the debates, and opined that instead of discussing their past accomplishments and future plans, the candidates only recited speculative monologues (what we would call party lines or boilerplate narratives), and railed about the faults and mistakes of the other. They concluded that the 2020 election was an embarrassment to “the great American legacy of democracy”.
This combination of pictures shows US President Donald Trump (left) and Democratic Presidential candidate and former US Vice President Joe Biden (right) during the first presidential debate at Case Western Reserve University and Cleveland Clinic in Cleveland, Ohio, on September 29, 2020. That’s real news.
