Today has been a day of self-improvement. There’s a little bit of money in the budget for clothing, so I ventured out to find some nice jeans; my current ones aren’t quite fitting right. I’d highly suggest taking a look at this post over at Grasping for Objectivity on Mom Jeans and the Dreaded Long Butt. So much good info, and made my jean shopping experience much easier, since I knew what to look for.
I started off at Platos Closet. Great place for cheap, nice jeans! Unfortunately, it’s also a place that demonstrates the absolute absurdity of women’s sizes. What the hell does 14 Regular mean? Why does a 16 in Lucky Brand not even fit over my thighs, but a 16 Old Navy does, BUT IS TOO SHORT? Dear Manufacturers: get your shit together.
I did, however, find a nice pair of glittery black stilletos, or as Mr. RedPill would call them, “hooker shoes”. Indeed, I did buy a pair of shoes with no intention of wearing them in public. Rawr. Sis at Passionate Christian Marriages will be proud!
And only $15!
I gave up on the jean search there, and headed over to the mall and looked through the Torrid clearance section. I found a couple of good fitting pairs of 14′s for buy one, get one half off. Score! They’re a size smaller than my current jeans (16), and a little tighter than I’d like. Hello, how about selling a 15 guys? You men are so lucky you don’t have to deal with this nonsense.
I find that as our marriage gets better, and we get closer, my spending habits are based less on myself, and more on what I think he’ll think about it. I want to be sexier and more attractive for him. And I also want him to be impressed with my budgeting prowess.
And now, I’m off to continue watching movies on SyFy. Today is Star Trek: Insurrection . Not the best of the ST movies, but helloooo Commander Riker.
