userdand commented on Girl Game: Submissive Positioning:
Haven’t read much of MMSL yet, was kind of turned off by the strongly alpha nature of it. I will have to give it a second look since it seems to get some favorable press on posts. After reading how even simple positional changes can signal submission, I can see where a husband being more alpha could open the door for his wife to be more openly submissive, which may be exactly what she wants and needs to be more sexually open and adventurous.
Believe me, I know what you’re struggling with here. The message to “alpha up” is in direct contradiction to what society tells us is proper and politically correct. The natural dominant inclination of the male sex and the natural female submissive response to displays of male dominance are often shamed and boiled down to the word “mysoginy”. It’s in direct contradiction with what most women say they want. It’s in direct conflict with a million books, movies, television shows, and magazines.
But it’s so true. A husband’s dominance naturally brings out a wife’s submission, adoration, and attraction.
There are so many examples of how true it is over at the MMSL forums. It’s obviously been crazy successful for us, coming out of a 7 year dark period.
The things to remember about Athol’s blog and book are 1) he’s coming at it from a completely atheist perspective, so he leans entirely on evolutionary psychology as his basis. His methods can come across a bit cold if you’re looking for something more on the religious flowery side. The lizard-brain cares not for religion, when you get down to it. And 2) if you’re already in a semi-decent marriage, the methods can look really harsh. But a lot of the men (and women!) that turn to MMSL are in pretty horrid situations, so a sort of “shock and awe” tactic is understandable and needed. Dread game isn’t for everyone.
The “Phase 4″ ultimatum recommendations rely heavily on the divorce option, which of course I’m not totally down with and we never got to, but I think the strategy could still work by replacing it with separation. But for some guys, the wife is about to blow it up anyway, so I can’t say I entirely blame them for fighting fire with fire.
(I get no money from anyone for this endorsement. Just lots of great married sex from my husband.)
