It’s hard for me to blog when things aren’t going quite right, so here’s one of those “catch all” posts. I don’t want to throw all my problems here, so don’t worry, I’m not problem-dumping. It’s been kind of a crap couple of weeks.

So generally…

I feel like we’re walking on eggshells around each other a bit, there’s definitely not much going on in the tingles department, and we’re still a little bit in holiday mode. Yesterday was Christmas with my dad and stepmom, New Years Eve with some friends of ours tomorrow, then a day with some other friends on New Years Day. We’re planning a date night for next weekend, so that’ll be nice. But in the meantime, I’m really having one of those “I need some time to myself” introverted days. All these family gatherings have made me crazy weary. And our “welcome home” night was really a bust, because the sexy Christmas toys I got for us to play with didn’t work out. So on top of that, I feel like I totally wasted $40 that I felt nauseous spending in the first place. Ugh.

Aaaand another huge misunderstanding, right in the middle of writing a post. Brilliant!

Happy news, happy news… Let’s see. I sent my stepmom an email about my dad’s situation, told her what I thought about it being low-t. She didn’t answer for a couple of days, so I was worried maybe I’d freaked her out or maybe he’d seen the email, but she mentioned to me when they were here yesterday (while he was outside) that they were watching TV last night and a commercial about low-t came on. She said “I bet you have that” and he said “yeah, I probably do”, so at least we know where his mind is at. He’s not totally put off by the idea, and she seems to be in a good frame of mind to help him. I was worried she was about 2 inches from throwing him off the cliff. I need to find out when she plans on having a more in depth talk, and if she needs any support from us.

One of the twins is standing and almost cruising on the furniture at 8 months, God help us. The other is starting to pull up. The clumsiness abounds. They pretty much cry all day from falling. It’s adorable and tiresome. Our girl is in a “what’s that? What’s this? Who’s that?” phase that is about to drive me up a wall, but makes for fun conversation when I just start making stuff up. We’ve had some fun imagination games the past week, when I’m not comforting bumped heads and bruised faces.

Oh kids.
