I started a new workout 3 weeks ago, and I need to tell you about it.
There is a ton of stuff on the web that suggests that women should train just like men. And I was doing that… lots of arm, chest, and back exercises, with only one day for legs. I’m not sure why I’d believe this, since the red pill is all about the differences between men and women… of course men should target their arms and chest, because women find those things sexy when they’re bulked up. But what body parts to men find luscious when strong and toned? Arms are nice, but men don’t look at your arms when you’re wearing tight jeans. I needed some more ass definition.

The title Strong Curves got my attention, and I got even more intrigued when I learned that Brett Contreras‘s nickname is The Glute Guy. Captain M is an ass man, so any workout that highlights that particular body part is great for me. Brett has a ton of experience and data on how to target the bottom for maximum sexiness, so the bulk of the book was intriguing to me.
I’ve always had a nice butt, but childbirth and age has made it a bit… sad over the years. After reading up and starting the beginner workout, I noticed improvement in the first week. And oh my God, did my ass hurt. I couldn’t walk for two days after the first workout! But now Captain M makes me turn around so he can inspect my work every night before I go to bed. In fact, he inspects it when I get up in the morning too. And again when he gets home. I’ve never seen him that enthusiastic
And it’s not just about the glutes… there are plenty of arm, back, chest, and ab exercises as well, so I’m not losing what I’ve already built up. It’s a full body workout, but the focus is definitely lower body. And to be clear, this isn’t one of those mamby-pamby Jillian Michael’s workouts using 2lb dumbbells.
The drawback: A lot of the exercises aren’t something I feel entirely comfortable doing in public. Barbell hip thrusts, glute bridges, glute marches… terrifying to do in a gym if you’re as shy as I am. I’ve been closing my eyes and bearing it, haha. But we’re building a home gym in our garage, so I won’t have to worry about thrusting my crotch in the air in front of any other guys except my husband. (We’re looking at a set of olympic weights tomorrow from a guy that posted on Craigslist, I’M SO EXCITED)
That being said, there is a bodyweight version if you have no home gym and don’t want to go to a public gym. Booyah!
I’m 2/3 into the Beginner workout, about to start a new phase of more difficult exercises. I’m really excited to keep building, and eventually get into the Advanced Gluteal Goddess workout. Rawr.
