(I’ve already posted this elsewhere, apologies if you’re reading it twice.)
We went through my test results this morning. These were within normal ranges, but not optimal. I’ve got numbers, just not typing them all out:
HDL Cholesterol – low
Zinc – low
Magnesium – low
TSH – high
Vitamin B12 – low
Folate – low
DHEA – low
My fasting glucos and A1C were both normal, but she still wants me to take alpha Lipoic acid to bring the fasting number down more because of the PCOS.
The three biggies:
Ferritin (how much iron my body is storing) – WAY low (it’s 18 ng/mL, she recommends at least 100)
Progesterone – low (optimal is 10 ng/mL, mine is 3.3)
Vitamin D – low (34 ng/ML, should optimally be 80-100)
So my new list of pills to take each day:
Armour
DHEA
Progesterone
Fish oil
Alpha Lipoic Acid
Zinc glycinate
Iron glycinate
Magnesium glycinate
B12 + Folate
Vitamins D3 (5k a day)
Waiting on the prog and DHEA to be done at the compounding pharmacy, got the Armour and already took some, buying the vitamins online.
Lab appointment in 1 month to recheck progesterone and TSH, then another follow up for everything else in 3 months. And after January, this place will be in network, so no more crazy office fees.
Slightly freaking out at the cost of all these things. It’s a lot of freakin vitamins. I was hoping to take my kids to see my mom this Christmas, not sure that trip can happen with all this extra stuff.
