The following may sound like a made up story, but it’s not. A friend of mine lives in Kenya and runs an exclusive resort. One time when on safari they discovered a baby lioness, just a few days old. They waited all night for signs of the mother, but she never returned. They took the lioness cub home, bottle fed it and it became the family pet. It grew up without other lions around, so it was tame like a house cat and freely roamed both inside and outside their residence.
For more than 10 years they had this incredible pet, until one evening my friend came home in a hurry to grab some paper work from his home office upstairs. He bolted up the stairs where upon he ran into the lioness on the turn in the staircase. She got spooked and took a swipe at him, ripping half his face off. He spent weeks in surgery. Although it was just an accident, the lioness having awakened her inner predator, became much more aggressive. She was impossible to keep as a pet.
This is almost all you need to know about women. All women without exception have that inner animal side. If you keep them around long enough and make an innocent mistake like my friend did, this aggressive side will come out. It’s well known that pregnant or nursing females in many species can be more aggressive than males. When she feels spooked or driven by pure instinct, she will strike. No matter what her background or upbringing, how tame and lovely she might seem, this trait is there without exception.
Human females are of course more complex than a simple instinctive lioness, so I will give you a few examples from my own life. There are many ways in which she befriends you and makes you think of her as a harmless pet, when in fact the lioness is waiting to come out.
1. This is all I’m going to get
I went to a strict boarding school, and when I left at 18, I’d had very little contact with girls. As soon as I started going out to clubs and bars, the girls just seemed to be all around me (I suppose after an almost military style education, I carried myself with a certain air). I was also renowned for my teenage rebel ‘don’t give a fuck’ attitude (and pockets full of drugs). Thus I never had to hit on girls or chase after them, they came to me. I found them immature, dull, and uninteresting.
After getting through multiple girlfriends in a short space of time, bed hopping with their friends and so forth, I ditched the whole lot. They all seemed the same to me. I watched friends of mine settle for ‘girlfriends’ and get into these awful teenage ‘relationships’ with girls that were so immature, needy, insecure and manipulative. My friends became sappy to be around when their girl was in the vicinity. They’d settled because they thought that was all they were going to get – the saddest thing is they were probably right. This was long before the hookup culture, so rather than get snared into relationships, I preferred to fly free and look for something better.
2. She’s Amazing (aka. Oneitis)
When you refuse to settle for second best, nature has to up the ante and give you more. It might leave you high and dry for a while, but after some months I met the daughter of a Spanish diplomat. She was 24, I was 19. She spoke four languages, had traveled the world, dated not only a senator but also a major drug dealer. She was light years ahead of me. Being with her I psychologically jumped from 19 to 35. I learned a lot from this woman, so when she joked about getting married, I stuck a ring on her finger. I did it largely for the ‘rebel’ factor since no one gets married at 21 these days. I was also after a diplomatic passport but sadly her father retired.
We had an idea to immigrate together and that needed a marriage certificate, so we had an ulterior and practical motive. It also put our parents in their places, shutting them up. One thing about getting married, especially when you are under 30 is it commands respect from the older generation. The whole thing was a blag really, and if I’d been a little smarter I would have leveraged it for wedding gifts, help to buy a house and etc., but I was too much of a tear away for that.
Just like the story of the lioness, she rapidly turned into a real ‘wife’. It didn’t matter that we’d go clubbing, smoked a ton of pot or had wild sex all night, she was married now. This female instinct came out from under the surface. She became dictatorial, demanding, and unsettled. She started controlling our direction and finally met a new BFF who poisoned her against me. The BFF wanted to match-make my wife with her brother. That of course failed dramatically, but my first LTR was over. Initially I made some very successful efforts to save it, but I realized that me being 25 and her now nearly 30; starting again with a woman 5-10 years younger, would be much more equitable. Her loss—I met her 10 years later, she was re-married with a fat ugly guy, who owned a small restaurant and struggling with a two year old kid. What a waste.
3. I’m Your Best Friend
I had a spare room in my place that I wanted to rent out. At the same time I met this chick who (rather ironically) called herself Cat. We struck up an immediate vibe. I had free tickets to a club, I took her out; we were all over each other. She said she was looking for a place to stay and I believed I had the perfect solution—flatmate I could bang. I gave her a key and told her to bring two weeks rent. She disappeared for 3 days, dumped her stuff in the room at 4am (waking me up), disappeared again, to return a couple of days later with a load of drugs and a new boyfriend, no rent in sight.
My place stank of pot, coke dust on the kitchen counter, empty vodka bottles and a total mess. No money for rent of course. A few more days passed by with no sign of her and when I finally caught up with her she promised me money. Disappeared again, came back with a whole crowd of people at 3am on a week night. I threw out the visitors and demanded money. She disappeared again for several days, where upon I left her shit on the side walk in front of the apartment, keeping her laptop as a guarantee on the rent she owed. I never saw or heard from her again. The laptop went on ebay some months later (after I uploaded all her nude photos she left on it). True story.
4. Her Word In Your Ear
You’ll tend to take advice from your girlfriend since she has constant access to you. My second LTR was with a girl far less educated and well-traveled. She knew I was a great catch and once we moved in together she became increasingly insecure. She’d black ball just about anyone I was doing business with. She slowly steered my thinking over time, until I took decisions and closed down a perfectly viable business that just needed another couple of years grind until payday would arrive. I was only 29 so it seemed like I had all the time in the world. My ex-business partner went on to open branches around the world and made some millions. I did fairly nicely for myself on my own and her advice might have been quite reasonable, but I will never know what direction I might have taken without her influence. When I finally ditched her, she ended up in a psyche ward on antidepressants.
5. I Need You
A pet can be fun, but it invariably becomes a chore. After getting shot of the second LTR, I began dating a variety of girls. One was particularly sexy and fun in bed. She lived alone but we were a two hour plane ride apart. She was only 24 and had no real hurry to get all settled, but started pushing me to move in with her, or at least move near her. My business kept me away and I couldn’t just move next to her overnight, nor did I want to. There’s nothing like flying into town to stay at your girl’s place and having her open the front door with a fresh home cooked meal on the table. If there was ever a keeper this girl was it, but by now I was well aware of the manipulative instincts of a female, so I cut her lose. She married a sales rep from a tobacco company and has a kid now. Her life must be dull as dishwater because she often tries to contact me on Facebook.
6. Ruling The Roost
As any guy who’s lived with a girl can attest, the most laid back chick in nesting mode soon becomes the interior designer for Ikea. This instinctive nesting knows no bounds, to the point she will exhaust herself making the house nice for non-existent guests she needs to impress, whilst at the same time making you feel uninvited and uncomfortable.
There’s not much defense for this kind of BS other than not inviting her to live with you in the first place. One girl I lived with became obsessed with recycling plastic bottles to the point she started doing it daily, and demanding I take the bottles to the recycling bin almost one by one. It was just across the street, but her OCD was on overdrive. One of the things that women do to take power in your life is start up rituals that are so mind blowingly trivial, you just comply to start with.
7. Sense Of Timing
Just like the lioness that had no sense of timing or execution, swiping its paw out of instinct, a women will often subconsciously strike for no particular reason. Several times when my business had moved ahead in leaps and bounds, the girlfriend of the moment would get restless, jealous, needy and instinctively try to drag things down, lest I leave her for better pastures. This of course had the net result of accelerating the outcome. If you are lucky enough to find a smart woman that supports you and sees your successes as her successes – like a politician’s wife might, good for you, but keeping the motivation there in this day and age is almost impossible. In fact if you do anything ‘wrong’ they will very often vindictively attack, even if it’s to their own detriment, the classic example being trying to shame you in front of friends or family with some pointless relationship conversation that she hopes to garner support for.
Animals and Gods
A man is a self-contained unit. He can fend for himself, feed himself and if he chooses literally plant his seed and walk away. He can chose to improve himself in any number of ways, and aside from getting laid, is not driven by hormones in anything like the way a woman is. A man is thus closer to being a god. At the very least he is consistent. If he chooses to be a consistent chimpanzee, that’s his mistake.
A woman has a period, produces eggs, seeks a mate, gets pregnant, gives birth, produces breast milk and takes care of the infant, just like any other mammal. She also runs very much on herd instincts. She is tied to this her entire life. Her female state is impossible to completely remove. She is thus closer to an animal.
A pet you bring into your house can make a nice mascot, keep you company and even be useful to mind the house, but recall the story of the lioness and remember that even if she doesn’t get aggressive, she will generally be a chore to take care of, just like a pet can be. There was an advertising campaign many years ago in the UK, designed to make people think twice before buying pets. “A dog is for life, not just for Christmas.” I’ll leave you with that thought and the lioness on the staircase.
